  1. Win your conference get in the playoff. Plus the non power 5 blah blah. Instead of traditional bowl games the fans should vote or schools should decide who and where they play. Say Nebraska and Florida state had solid years but missed the playoffs. Fans vote to have them play eachother for nostalgia but this time in an cold weather setting. Good for ratings even if it doesnt mean anything. Tom and Bobby can be ceremonial captains for the coin toss.
  2. I'm sure most schools will have conversations with all the guys who are "seniors" and have been in the program for 5 years and haven't contributed much
  3. Development is just as much on the player as it is on the coaches. That being said I worked with a Juan Torres in Chicago who looks just like this kid but was probably 5'8". Same haircut tho
  4. I'ld take Williams. Hope his saying he liked Nebraska so much wasn't just gamesmanship to get other schools to offer
  5. maybe he is going to rice to actually "play school"
  6. do we know if he is dead set on playing corner? Think he might be better off at safety. One good thing is Fischer is still coaching and he was able to help Lamar Jackson improve so you would think he could get the best out of this guy.
  7. only thing worse than 7 on 7 for a defense is 7 on 7 without pads on.
  8. You know who fumbled too much? Everyone under Bo and Mike except Rex Burkhead.
  9. Is a HS hosting a camp? Or maybe his IU host is from bloomfield because thats about 40 min from Bloomington
  10. If Nebraska hasn't offered they should even if they think they are getting Kaelin. 2024 is a long ways off. Lots of things could happen in between now and then. If he's good enough for Georgia he's good enough for Nebraska.
  11. did I hear a niner in there? were you calling from a walkie talkie??
  12. agreed. I don't much care if a guy 5th on the depth chart decides to transfer.
  13. tongue in cheek... since Yager is supposed to transfer as well
  14. dropping like flies, David Alston is in the portal
  15. I have 3 siblings that graduated from Purdue. I make fun of them for whatever I can. My sister brought up the drum years back and I did some research. There was some group in china that made a bigger drum at some point plus the two you mentioned and probably others.
  16. I refuse to be nice to a school that still claims to have the biggest drum in the world when in reality its been the 5th largest for like 30 years
  17. I do. But I think our defense will probably give up at least 25 if our offense is putting up 63
  18. Magic Johnson was 6'9" playing point guard. That was quite a while ago
  19. probably because of the weird way he uses his arms when he runs
  20. Dude the original comment was kids don't want to come to Lincoln because its not "cool" and has crap weather. My argument is it doesn't matter if you have a winning program. Your dumbass wants to keep going on about 500 mile radius. There are pleanty of teams that recruit their 500 mile radius and still don't win and still has nothing to do with the city in which the school resides. I don't know how to make it any more clear. KIDS don't care as much as you think about where the schools are located!!
  21. So they are talent rich, near the beach and didnt break the top 10 in recruiting the last two years. Got it. Wonder what would happen if they went to the playoffs.
  22. I more meant that they in fact have a ton of talent in Ohio and even they don't depend solely on in-state talent. I more wanted to point out that some of the kids they have on their team leave places like, Hawaii, Florida, California and Texas for Columbus, OH. not that great of a place and also has s#!tty weather like Nebraska for those who claim kids don't come to Lincoln because of snow. The bolded was more my point. If Lincoln was a big city and had a beach top kids still might not pick Nebraska if they aren't winning. Look at Miami. I'm sure they have nice facilities, they are near the beach, tons of talent in Florida. All the top talent isn't flocking there anymore because they are no longer the "U" of old.
  23. show me where I said that. And I agree with you Ohio is talent rich. That isn't the debate going on. I'll tell you for a fact at least 3 of the states that border Ohio have more talent than Nebraska. Cincinnati last time I checked was also in Ohio. Why aren't they competing for a NC year in and year out? I'll give you a hint... they aren't Ohio St. If Nebraska didn't fall off the face of the earth as far as national perception they would get more higher rated kids from other parts of the country
  24. I don't think I've been. I've spent time in Cleveland and Columbus for work. Southern Ohio is a dump. I drive through from NC to IN.
  25. yes that is my point. Kids pick schools like Ohio st because they are winners. They have about 30 kids on their roster from OH and a good 10 of them are K or punters or LS. I'm sure the kid they have from Brookly, NY was like yeah columbus OH has much more to offer me a than NY city. Nobody cares that Nebraska is in Lincoln. They care that they aren't a powerhouse anymore. Win some games and better players will come.
