I have a hard time seeing us taking 3 TEs in this class, and didn't we just put one of our walk on TEs on scholly? I think having 5 scholarship TEs on the roster is plenty. Are we for sure recruiting Robinson as a TE? *Edit: Nvm, looks like he's announcing later today now.

I like this kid a lot as a TE, more than I like Rafdal. Looks like a more fluid version of a young Cethan. As a WR I'm not so high. Glad we're going to get him on campus.

It would be sort of discouraging as a Husker fan if they weren't. OU, a power 5 school, recruiting kids only 45 minutes away from Lincoln. I'm really hoping that they would be active here with this group of kids. I know I see a lot of other coaches here. Hope they pick up their presence at Burke. The way NU has slow played in-state talent (especially Omaha) for the past 10-15 years is discouraging. I'm not saying every local kid deserves a scholarship offer, but there has been plenty of talent that has gone elsewhere and excelled. Like who?

Landing Wallace wouldn't be a bad deal. Also, Lenoir is slim odds You're probably right about Lenoir, and I don't dislike Wallace. Would just be disappointing to miss these top guys again. I just worry the sudden surge from the second tier guys means we missed.

I'd be happy with Daniels, Calvin, Rafdal, and one of the db's. Seems realistic to me. This isn't a huge class either, I take more value from the average rating rankings as opposed to the total rankings. Some schools just have huge classes that shoot them up.

Where is Dedrick Young in that mix? Mo Barry? I like the thought but Mick is a little tall at that NG spot. Depth at backer is a good issue to have! Lots of names and some guys are going to have to go earn it in the new system. I think a lot of us have the same perception with Mick but Riley did include him with one of the Davis twins as guys who he thought might be able to do it post press conference. I watched that as well, there are some guys that we can put in there. I think it will wind up being Carlos. He is strong as an ox in the weight room. I think Mick would be an absolutely awesome 3-4 DE. Yeah I think Carlos would be fine at nose, that dude ate double teams all year. And I think Young will have to prove a lot to get back in the starting lineup, he put out some pretty poor tape for Diaco to see towards the end of the year. I really like Roberts, just hard to know for sure playing HS ball in New England but I think he's going to be hard to keep out of the middle come the start of the season.

I'm willing to wait and see what Diaco does. I tend to agree with you, but I think we'll get guys in the best position for the defense as a whole when it's all said and done. Maybe I'm just too optimistic, but I feel like this is the first top notch DC we've had since Bo (pre head coach). I'm willing to let it play out for now.

I think it's a bit better chance than that, D Will is one of the best recruiters on the West Coast. I still like Lindsey and Roberts slightly more, but imo he was second only to Darnay as far as CB's go in this class. Would be a huge get, still leaning towards Oregon.

I really think Tyjon could put some work in here, they both have the same reasons for leaving the west coast. Still not optimistic but we have a shot.

If it wasn't in the middle of the week I'd go and make a weekend out of it. I've gone to Vegas for worse reasons.

Let's be real. Husker Nation would welcome him with open arms. And he seems to really want to be here. I was unfairly critical of him after the ASG fiasco, but I do really hope he feels comfortable coming here.

I'm amazed that he is still here but I do know the guy is actually a class act and not the prima donna type who wants to quit if he doesn't play. I almost wouldn't mind it if he did just so he can go somewhere that will utilize the talent he clearly has. A fellow s sider. His lack of playing time is straight up insulting. Hate to say that I kind of agree. I think he's our best ball carrier (hard to really say, he hasn't gotten much of a chance). I'll never understand the over emphasis they have put on pass blocking over actually running the ball. Ameer couldn't block a fourth grader coming off the edge, but nobody cared because he got yards when he touched the ball. Not saying he's Ameer, but I think he's severely under used. I don't think anybody could be mad if Wilbon decided to transfer. Hope he doesn't, but you couldn't blame him. In this offense there is no such thing as "an over emphasis on pass blocking". If a running back desires playing time in this offense he damn well better be able to pass block as well as run. It's part of the job description now. Using Ameer is kind of a bad example because we weren't utilizing the same offense we are now. That said, Ameer would have done whatever it took to improve his pass blocking skills so he could get on the field and help his team. It has been for the last 12 years. I don't look at this any different than how we require our WRs to block. It's part of the job and if you don't take it seriously, your playing time will not be as much. I realize it's part of the responsibility of playing RB, but it's far from the most important thing imo. To me, how well you run the ball is far and away the most important thing. If Barry Sanders can't pass block, I don't care, I get him on the field anyways. He does the most important thing better than the other guys at the position. Again, not saying he's Barry Sanders, but I feel like you guys are equating the importance of gaining yards when you carry the ball to how well you pass block. One is much more important than the other. Maybe Wilbon is doing something that I don't see, I guess I have to trust the coaches to make the right decisions. I just don't understand this one. Sure, if you have Barry Sanders you figure out some way else to block blitzes. But, we don't have Sanders. None of our RBs clearly distinguished themselves as the stud of the group as far as runners. So, you then look at which is the more complete back which includes blocking. NOBODY has said blocking is the most important part of being an RB and our coaches don't believe that either. Fair. I just don't think he's gotten a chance to fully prove himself as a runner. Because of that I think he's one of the guys who is at risk to transfer.

They know it was a troll, Pickett even said he knows it was probably somebody from a rival school and Johnson just RT somebody saying the same thing to him. That being said, Lenoir seems like a hard Oregon lean to me anyways. You never know though, as long as we can get him on that OV.

Wilbon has a tendency to put the ball on the ground at inopportune times, I imagine that has a bit to do with his lack of playing time. I remember the backwards pass against Oregon that probably counted against him, but it looked like a pretty poor throw to me. I don't know. I'm not a football coach but I've never understood how he's not getting more than 15 carries a year, and the one game he got a shot (NW, because Newby and Oz fumbled on the 1) he looked good. Can't understand it. Sorry to derail the thread, but I could see a DB and some D-ends at the bottom of the depth chart transferring. Wilbon wouldn't surprise me either.

Correct, and they'd be justified in their anger imo. Pretty hypothetical though, I have a hard time seeing Tyjon not being a major part of the offense next year. He instantly becomes one of our best if not the best athlete on the team at position that doesn't have a ton of depth. And then you heard Riley say how he should've played Lamar Jackson more, I don't think he'll be hesitant to get guys like that on the field anymore.

I think it will be a recruiter above all else, that seems to be a common theme.

ND usually plays a pretty tough schedule, I think that has to play a role in those numbers. Either way, he's an upgrade.
