  1. I would say OSU, PSU, UM, WI, MSU, Iowa, and NW are all better or equal to us in regards to skill and talent... I think OSU, PSU, and UM are probably the only teams in the conference with more athleticism and potential.
  2. I think we are basically arguing the same point, but schematics... I think recruiting rankings are a good indicator, but pretty much worthless after their Fresh or Soph seasons. I think Wisconsin and Iowa have produced better talent than NU, even if they aren't as athletic as us. I think NU is more athletic, and we probably have more potential in regards to development of talent, but I disagree that we are more talented right now (or over the past 5 years anyway)...... I think Iowa and Wisconsin have clearly shown to have better passing-skill, ball skills, better foot work, better blocking, shed blocking ect. I don't think they are light years ahead of us, and I think we'll see drastic improvement this season already, but if we broke it down position by position of which team has a more NFL ready talent at each position group, then I don't think NU has an argument other than WR and maybe RB.
  3. I disagree with that to a certain degree. I think its a fairly easy fix because we have recruited pretty well, but I don't think there is any question that Wisconsin and Iowa have consistently better talent than us. Maybe it's debatable, but I think it's pretty clear they have both been much better in the trenches than us, and also at QB, RB, CB, and LB too.... I think we're more on par with NW or Minny to be honest - and neither are going to win the West this season. Not that our players don't have the potential to fix the issues within a year or two, but for as much as we've out-recruited the West, the West has out trained and coached us. Maybe Frost's system can help cover-up some of the gap, and there is no question we've already stated to address the issues, but we probably aren't going to have the most talent on the field for more than 3 or 4 games this season, and "on par" talent another 3 or 4 games imo.
  4. Yeah, just a shot in the dark, I'm going to be at that game.
  5. I'm going with 8-4. I'm bullish on our home games, and think we probably compete with everyone on the road other that probably OSU and maybe Wiscy. Because of all the unknowns with this team, and the quality of our opponents, I think we will probably only go 1-4 on the road, possibly 2-3, but then drop one at home that we shouldn't or something like that.... The most likely road win being either NW or Iowa, but with the way UCF played UM in the big house during Frosts first season with them, I'm not ready to give up hope on that game. 09/01 - Akron - W 09/08 - Colorado - W 09/15 - Troy - W 09/22 - @ Michigan - W 09/29 - Purdue - W 10/06 - @ Wisconsin - L 10/13 - @ Northwestern - W 10/20 - Minnesota - L 11/03 - @ Ohio State - L 11/10 - Illinois - W 11/17 - Michigan State - W 11/23 - @ Iowa - L
  6. That could be true, but I think with this kid it has to do more with his playing number 20. I don't think he's boasting or anything about his "level" of commitment, more about his favorite number.
  7. I hope Dewitt told him that he needs to be in seat 1A on the bus heading to Indy in December.
  8. I will eternally consider Penn State as #2.... Get it?
  9. That could be true, but not at the tuf Missouri tiggers he doesn't.
  10. Boy, there is an awful lot of finger pointing going on in recruiting these days.
  11. Held needs a giant N poster to cove up all those other posters. Maybe a fathead of Frost.
  12. I think Frost knew right around the time of the meeting in Philly, so I can sympathize with the kid on that front. But at the same time, whether Frost knew or not, it was his responsibility to work in UCF's best interest, not NU's. It was a catch-22 moment for Frost. Damned if you do damned if you don't. It might have just been a slip of the mind on Frosts part too by phrasing it that way - unintentionally painting himself into a box. I talk to a lot of different clients/customers at work, and when I'm tired and client asks me a point blank question (that answering sometimes violate other clients' rights), sometime its tough to phrase an answer that isn't construed in the wrong way - especially when one is naturally honest and candid with people like Frost seems to be.... I can imagine Frost having some troubles with that aspect of everything. I doubt he meant or wanted to lie to recruits, but he couldn't just spill the beans to a 17 Y/O kid only for it to blow up on Twitter. These parents need to do a better job of explaining that part of life, because everyone, even Eriq, is put in a similar situation catch-22 moment at some point in life.
  13. I try to put NU into their shoes. And I've thought that if NU were to ever go independent and still expect to be included in the playoff discussion that we would need to do a few things. 1. Go undefeated 2. Play ND the weekend of conference title games essentially giving us both a CCG 3. No bye week, even if not all opponents aren't world beaters, we would play 1 more game than the P5 conference champions, and 2 more games than the schools that didn't make their CCG. Use it against them.
  14. Yeah his composit ranking makes no sense to me... He's #23 on espn, #67 on 247, and a 4* on rivals, but #88 overall on the composite?
  15. Agreed, it would be more harmful than good for Moos to make contact with any recruits.
  16. Yeah it happens all the time. I've seen plenty of Iowa and KST fans at NU games over years. I've even seen Tennessee fans in memorial stadium... The worst are the NU fans who appear to be fans of the other team. Forrest Gump: It happens. This might be the last time one of those Husker fans gets a chance to watch a Frost coached team in person. Who knows.
  17. Until proven otherwise, he's going to have alternating 6-win teams and undefeated teams every other year.
  18. Logic like this is why we might always suck. It took TO 22 years, and he actually inherited a good program. I'm not pointing a finger at you necessarily, but some fans think that 7 or 8 wins "isn't gettingthe job done".... If we only have 8 wins for a decade, then I might agree. But after 3 years, if we've only put 8 wins together, then Frost is doing pretty well for the mess that this program has become. We need a good coach and leader, but we also need consistency and stability. Giving up after 3 years is nonsense, it takes longer than that to establish a new system... We might have successful teams in the mean time, but it's going to take 6 or 7 years, at a minimum, to establish a consistent conference/nationally competitive program. It takes time to recruit the players you want, and structure the roster the way he'll like. Which is to say there will be some on the field inconsistency in our next 3 years - and that's no reason to give up on a guy.
  19. Camped to 125 teams, sure you make a point. Compared to what we should be, our where we have been, as a program, not even close. If you think our OL roster (or RB, QB, DL, LB, or DB) is anything but average in comparison to what the "average" roster of any of NU conference title winning teams liked like, then you are going to be really disappointed with how the next 3 years go. Outside of WR, do we have one player on this roster that would start for one of Osborne or even Solich coached teams? Let alone one of the teams that won anything of significance?
  20. Excuse me for calling the best roster in the B10 West average.
