  1. I’ve had some questions about some of the hires but I really like this one. Seems like a really promising hire. Dino Babers is offense through and through so you know this guy’s defensive unit is all his.
  2. I’m not calling anyone out because everyone deserves to have their opinion, but we hired a guy who is widely regarded as the safest star option hire this cycle. Most sites have him as an A+ hire for a reason. He is a superstar college head coach. If, big if, Deion Sanders ends up doing an amazing job at Colorado, the teams who should feel dumb are Auburn and Georgia Tech. Those schools could have easily landed him but their boosters weren’t okay with it. Early returns look good for Colorado and Deion, good for them, but we got our coach.
  3. Fwiw, that 5 star player is a 2025 recruit. He mentioned that he wants to join Deion Sanders as a Fort Myers, Florida kid in Boulder. I think that commitment was done as a favor from the recruit to hype up what Sanders could bring, and to show that he could bring warm weather, elite recruits to Boulder. Feldman and a bunch of the national 247 guys believe that Sanders will pull a big recruiting class this cycle based on what they’re hearing, but it hasn’t happened yet. So far they’ve landed a project OT and JUCO CB from what I’ve seen.
  4. Seen posts on 247 and twitter that we are planning to move to a 4-3 base? Definitely expect some attrition in the front 7 if that’s the case.
  5. Or maybe they give Leonhard a look?
  6. I wonder if they’ll hire the DC from Illinois, Ryan Walters?
  7. Plays in the same division as 5-star RB Rueben Owens. Fun highlight tape, trying to figure out why he doesn’t have much of an offer list. Lots of clips of him at WR, maybe a case of him looking better as a RB once he finally got reps there?
  8. I imagine this included some hefty buyout pay. Fun and exhausting offense to play against, they’ll definitely take advantage of the altitude.
  9. Yes please on Stogner. Just my opinion but if the more we can restock with grad transfers, the better. Much easier to prep recruit when you take a one year rental to fix an issue instead of taking JUCOs with multiple years of eligibility who also aren’t a certainty to produce.
  10. Conn was a 3-star recruit that I thought would really pan out. Not only a pretty solid offer list but Oklahoma State pursued him and got an OV, and they have really manufactured some good OLines down there. Felt like a good recruiting win for our staff at the time, just didn’t pan out.
  11. This year’s Colorado football team was like if you took Iowa’s terrible, unwatchable offense and gave them a terrible, unwatchable defense instead of one of the best in the country. And we beat Iowa. Going to need to see what his coaching staff looks like + the transfers he’s able to bring in before I get worried. His son is probably a better QB than they’ve had in decades but he won’t be enough to transform them into winners all of a sudden. And then of course, need to see what Rhule is able to do with the transfer portal. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t matter if they beat us two more times. They took a chance on a risky, boom or bust HC because that was the best option for them. We hired the best coach for us in my opinion. The only thing I do know is that our matchups with them will absolutely crush viewership numbers and all those eyeballs will be good for the brand and in recruiting.
  12. Rockies would be slightly higher than the Nuggets and Avs if they could ever get their stuff figured out but spot on lol
  13. I think the biggest question is what kind of staff will Deion Sanders assemble? Is he hoping/planning to bring most of his current staff? Because that would have obviously been an issue here this time around lol. Jackson State is also running the air raid right now which I would have been doubtful of working here. Good for Colorado for taking a shot. This might be the thing that saves them from falling to a mountain west type of scenario and propels them to a big 10 invite. Or it might crash and burn. Either way, I trust Trev’s decision to hire Rhule.
  14. I understand your point but keep in mind that not all attrition is bad attrition, and in fact some/most might be good. This offseason and into spring camp will be uncomfortable for a lot of players as there’s a lot of bad habits that need broken. I would assume most of the names we hear are players whose hearts aren’t in it for one reason or another, and we need to purge that from the roster. This might be a rough rebuilding year. Or we might be able to get enough playmakers from the transfer portal for a relatively quick turnaround. Either way, I’m willing to trust Rhule and the staff he builds.
  15. I certainly wouldn’t bet against him, especially if he’s able to assemble a major staff. But there’s still some questions surrounding if he can coach at this level. Seems like a good fit as Colorado is desperate and can’t go anywhere but up. I imagine at the very least, he will recruit like crazy there. Already trying to flip a 5 star WR committed to Ohio State. I think Rhule was the better choice for what we needed though. Excited for that matchup.
  16. Tom Herman makes a lot of sense. Born there and a natural play style fit for the Big12 going forward.
  17. Would be better than they deserve but I do see the fit since it seems all the big programs are in wait and see mode with Deion. I scoffed at it initially then read the report that Deion’s presented a legitimate plan for Colorado which makes me think he really is interested in the job. The 2018 and 2019 games against them had elite viewer numbers, Rhule vs Deion would dwarf that.
  18. Defenses were tough and fun to watch at Florida while he was DC. HC was an offense guy in McElwain so you know the brunt of the credit can go to Collins. Landed some elite recruits while there. Think he would be a big time hire if true.
