  1. Up until this virus, most deaths were attributed to cancer or aids though even if the common cold or the flu was the straw that broke the camels back. This is a bad virus that the media is absolutely taking every opportunity to grab our attention with. I just think the average citizen should take the information we are being fed with a healthy dose of skepticism and look at all information instead of believing every headline put out there.
  2. The 14% is thinking starting next spring... In two months it will be summer.
  3. Because the New York Times says it's false? Come on man... It has been widely reported by multiple outlets that there is at least some inflation of the death totals as any death where someone had the virus is counted as a Covid-19 death. I'm not down playing the seriousness of the virus but when stage 4 cancer victims are counted as a coronavirus death, it's a little skewed. It's a bad sickness that I witnessed first hand in a close friend. There were a couple days where he was really concerned. In the end, he pulled out of it just fine just like 99+% of healthy people will.

Lol, GT took Indiana from Wisconsin on a 2% chance. Nice

I don't care for any of the three... lets just recruit more players and take them all out!
  6. I agree Red but I would be ticked if they made the decision right now. I'm still hopeful for an abbreviated little league season in July.

Are MVPs just randomly picked or is it based on something else?

Playing takes literally less than 1 minute each day. More guys should join.
  10. Even if stadiums are open I'm guessing attendance will be terrible. This is going to put a scare into the general population that will take years to get over. The only way to avoid that is if a vaccine is developed and readily available to put the concerned people at ease.
  11. That is the assumption, yes. As long as it is like all other known corona viruses, re-infection is unlikely and typically second infections are very mild because most people's immune system remember past virus infections and quickly attack them. All current data is showing that people's immune systems are responding to this strain in the same way. The big question is how long will a person's immune system remember this strain. Here is a good read for anyone wanting to understand more; https://www.sciencealert.com/long-term-memory-cytotoxic-immune-cells-explained Our immune systems want football! I'm guessing government shutdowns or not, our bodies will likely end this pandemic long before scientists do. It's just unfortunate it will come at the toll of many human lives...
  12. Just my opinion- If they have antibody testing available this summer, I believe we will have football in the fall. I know for a fact the number of people that have had this or currently have this are being drastically under reported. I have a close friend who just recovered from it. It took an act of congress for his wife to get him tested. He had all symptoms and even had a coworker test positive but they still wouldn't test him because he didn't require hospital care. Once his condition got so bad that they were considering hospitalizing him, they finally tested him. I have heard story after story that are very similar. Most people do not require hospitalization so the majority of those are going uncounted. I say all this because I believe our "herd immunity" will be approaching 60% by fall and our new cases will be very low by then. Once a population reaches 60%, new cases drop drastically because the virus has so many fewer opportunities to spread. The main concern about overloading our health care system will be gone and life will be allowed to return to the new normal. People will still be scared, and we will deal with the repercussions for years, but the government will step aside at that point. This didn't happen 100 years ago with the Spanish Flu because society was much more spread out and travel was much more difficult. It simply took longer to reach 60% immunity.
  13. ESPN will probably pick up the coverage... I hear those guys are pretty bored.
  14. I had no idea at the time I started this thread that covid-19 would have the kind of impact it is having. It appears this will last much longer than many of us thought. My initial thoughts are out the window but I think Nebraska's financial position will become a real strength and will help us weather the storm much better than many programs. Hope everyone stays safe. This has hit home for me and my family. I have a good friend with it and my family is on day 4 of our 14 day quarantine to see if we have it. Watching it first hand, it is brutal to deal with.
  15. There are a lot of Heisman winners that came from unsuspecting teams. Anything is possible I guess.
  16. Wow... Only 4 B1G teams with better odds to win it. At least Vegas still feels good about Nebraska.
  17. I think we know where this is headed. So does the 1995 or the 1996 bowl game win? My vote goes to 1995 Orange bowl against Miami. That was one heck of a moment!
  18. "This season will test he character and mettle of this staff and team...." And the fan base.
  19. On another note, that big of a gap on the Ohio State game should be worth betting imo. Take Nebraska and the points on the big spread and then take Ohio state and give up the points on the other spread. If Ohio State wins by 13-20, you win both bets. In any other scenario, you only lose the fee. I'm not a guy who bets on sports but this seems like a no brainer. Am I missing something?
  20. We aren't favored over Minnesota... We are underdogs in 5 listed. +1 means they are favored by 1.
  21. I have a hard time understanding why a potentially great receiver would want to play for Iowa. I hope he stays home but I can understand wanting to play somewhere other than where your dad played but surely there are better options.
  22. https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2020-nfl-mock-draft-7-round-post-free-agency/ I know these are just speculation but this illustrates how much the combine and pro day can hurt a prospect. Lamar down to #220 in the 7th round. Ouch...
