I just hope those 2 can play. I dont want slow guys on the field just because they are 6-7. If Jackson will make more plays I would rather have him.

Still seems odd. QB seems like the last position that would transfer to be a backup. If we are going to bring in a QB transfer why not go after a guy who can compete to take the job

We do have a lot of size and plenty of speed on that list. It is time for them to step up and produce on the field. Hickman is an odd one to me. He seems too skinny to play TE. Maybe not fast enough for receiver?

I view it not as being overly optimistic. Just pointing out that there are plenty of kids on this roster with the stars behind their names and the overall size and athletic ability to make a big impact on the field. BUT- it is on the staff to have them ready to play this fall. Being year 4, and knowing that kind of talent is available to be molded and coached up. If we have another 6 win or less season. I will be in serious doubt that Frost and staff are the right people for the job. Maybe Frost is and needs to do a mass overhaul of his assistants. But with the team mostly being his players, in year 4. It is time to start climbing up- not treading water at the bottom of the big ten. I think Moos made it clear he thinks it is time we take the next step and compete for the West.

I agree. I do think though we have many key pieces on the roster. It is the staff's job to get them ready and on the field. Just a few names that have elite talent we just need to keep them healthy, get them mentally ready and on the field. 1. Omar Manning 2. Zavier Betts 3. Ronald Thompkins 4. New FCS All American transfer from Montana 5. Thomas Fidone 6. USC transfer RB 7. Many of our young OL players develop in the off season. I really think the pieces are here. Can the staff mold this talent to give us a team to be proud of this year.

You must have missed when I said Legit OC. I don't think Helfrich ever called the plays or Oregon? When he was OC Kelly was calling plays. When Helfrich was head coach Frost called plays right?

I don't think this is true. The fact Frost thought it was worth a try to let Luke get a start and come in for multiple series all year is a good sign Frost wasn't sold on Mart this year. I think you would agree with me Freshman Martinez you were not taking him out of the game EVER.

Ok do it on a per game average. Regardless of how many games played or what the stats were. If you watched the games you can not with a straight face say Martinez the last 2 years looked better or equal to freshman Martinez. The fact it is even debatable shows you how little development there is. Stanley Morgan (3 catches for 18 yards in his 2 year NFL career) moved on to pros after his freshman year. Sophomore year still had spielman- added wandale robinson.

That info is missing way too many key stats to decide. Passing yards, passing TDS, rushing TDS, interceptions, fumbles, explosive passing plays IE passes over 20 yards

I would happily take Freshman Martinez over Sophomore or Junior Martinez.

If it happens then so be it. But at that point Frost needs to go out of his comfort zone. Hire a legit OC, pay him some big bucks and step back from play calling and manage the WHOLE team.

At the rate transfers are happening around the country I think it might just sort itself out. Unfortunately for most of those kids the other teams wont have room on their roster either so they will have to go down a level or 2. Or guys that are not in the 2-3 deep and are a junior or senior maybe programs will just have to push them out to get back to an 85 limit in a few years.

So for those in the know. I know we are watching Avante Dickerson to see if he commits. Who else are we watching between now and signing day?

For a program like Nebraska in re-build mode. I really sympathize with Frost in the sense he has no idea who will still be on the team next year. You are having your depth transfer out when we need it bad. How do you recruit efficiently because once you sign your class a bunch of kids transfer and it might have changed what positions you recruited that cycle as a priority.

I get it. But add the 4 non con games Ohio state wins 4 more. Assuming we go 2-2. Maybe. So 5-7 at best. 4-8 at worst. I think a conference only schedule tells you where you sit. Those 8 games are the caliber of teams we should be built to beat. Getting a W to pad the win total against a FCS school doesn’t make me feel better

Nebraska 3-5 and fielded a program historically bad offense, Ohio state has 1 loss in the Natty. I have no idea what your post is about

I am a little concerned the 3 most explosive athletes have left the program. They all have different reasons. But could you blame the staff for not doing a better evaluation? Probably. But at the same time they are trying to build the program so early on maybe they wanted to gamble on some kids. But I think this class 2021 has less high risk kids- other than if Dickerson comes- he is high chance of being portal kid Mo Wash was a character issue. We knew the risk up front wandale- reports frost was ready to move on after he chose Kentucky. So we knew he was wishy washy or being influenced by others mcCaffrey- we knew he wanted QB and no one else was going to give him a shot. None of us know what was promised but regardless he is gone. He did get a fair shake and it was time to move positions

Especially on game day. If Frost is going to be involved so heavily on offense he is not paying very close attention to defense or special teams he needs someone to make sure we line up correctly- have the right amount of guys on the field etc. Someone must be accountable.
