  1. For a program like Nebraska in re-build mode. I really sympathize with Frost in the sense he has no idea who will still be on the team next year. You are having your depth transfer out when we need it bad. How do you recruit efficiently because once you sign your class a bunch of kids transfer and it might have changed what positions you recruited that cycle as a priority.
  2. I get it. But add the 4 non con games Ohio state wins 4 more. Assuming we go 2-2. Maybe. So 5-7 at best. 4-8 at worst. I think a conference only schedule tells you where you sit. Those 8 games are the caliber of teams we should be built to beat. Getting a W to pad the win total against a FCS school doesn’t make me feel better
  3. Nebraska 3-5 and fielded a program historically bad offense, Ohio state has 1 loss in the Natty. I have no idea what your post is about
  4. I am a little concerned the 3 most explosive athletes have left the program. They all have different reasons. But could you blame the staff for not doing a better evaluation? Probably. But at the same time they are trying to build the program so early on maybe they wanted to gamble on some kids. But I think this class 2021 has less high risk kids- other than if Dickerson comes- he is high chance of being portal kid Mo Wash was a character issue. We knew the risk up front wandale- reports frost was ready to move on after he chose Kentucky. So we knew he was wishy washy or being influenced by others mcCaffrey- we knew he wanted QB and no one else was going to give him a shot. None of us know what was promised but regardless he is gone. He did get a fair shake and it was time to move positions
  5. Especially on game day. If Frost is going to be involved so heavily on offense he is not paying very close attention to defense or special teams he needs someone to make sure we line up correctly- have the right amount of guys on the field etc. Someone must be accountable.
  6. No joke. Learn from that guy.
  7. Yes those plays are good. BUT bama also had many successful downfield throws and a solid running game to compliment. It doesnt work for us because we do it all the time and none of the other stuff works either.
  8. I would agree with this. THE GUY is going to have a better physical presence that you cant guard and can get him the ball. Wandale is a great complementary player. He wasnt allowed to shine because we didnt the THE GUY to draw attention.
  9. Great. Since we seem so good at developing kids and getting them on the field. FML
  10. ESPN profile says 6-1, so 4-5” is kind of a big deal. Also if you watched him play yesterday and think wandale is remotely as fast. There is no point discussing this further. They are not in the same stratosphere of player and talent. Wandale is a great player and great talent- no doubt. But Smith is ridiculous
  11. I agree wandale lacked top end speed. I made that case prior and others blindly defended him and made excuses why he didn’t break any long plays. The eye test he is just not game breaking speed. Very quick but not elite fast. I guess the NFL combine will solve that debate
  12. Riley lost games but at least he won the off-season. Frost loses more games and loses the offseason. Extension time?
  13. Maybe the dude who started Mass Exodus wasnt crazy. Sure I havn't seen a mass exodus so maybe his title was a little dramatic. BUT, he did specifically predict Wandale.
  14. I agree. I am sure he ends up at Bama. Seems like they reinvigorate everyone's career.
  15. I dont see anything wrong with 8 or so either. BUT- I would prefer to see them be a Junior or Senior who it is apparent at that point they will never be a contributor. Freshman and sophomores it is too early to tell.
  16. Me too. The only thing seperating the 2 is better coaching and better players.
  17. One angle to look at with these transfers. On one hand I look at them and most are not contributors so it's easy to say good riddance no big loss. On the other hand when they are young players (freshman or sophomore). Most were high 3 stars or 4 star type players. Ok maybe we justify by saying well they got recruited over so they will leave. But who knows if they work hard in the program and someone goes early to the NFL and now they are a redshirt senior starting. These kids are young so who knows what they can be developed into. Perhaps the best they do is a solid 2nd string rotation guy. We gotta keep the Offensive Lineman in the system. If they leave we replace them with a high school kid who should have 2-3 years of strength and development before we WANT them on the field. Just due to boredom I have been watching a bunch of the 90's huskers bowl games. Man our offensive lines were like seniors, redshirt seniors and juniors. So we always had a developed, experienced, veteran oline. We gotta get back to that to control the line of scrimmage.
  18. If you watched our games this year nothing we do resembles anything Ohio State is doing offensively. Maybe that is the goal or what we are working towards. But currently we look nothing like them. Second- Ohio State has way better players than everyone else in the Big Ten. It really doesn't matter what they do it will work.
  19. Also I am pretty sure most of what Saban does closely resembles the culture Belichick has in NE.
  20. I don't see anything wrong with Moos questioning Frost. It might cause Frost to self reflect and look at something from a different light. Accountability is what keeps many things on the right track. Blindly letting someone do things however they wish with no checks and balances usually doesn't go well. If we were trending up and everything was going well. Sure- there is no reason for anyone to ask any questions. But after 3 years of very little success- sorry but failure brings doubt and questions from people who SHOULD hold you accountable to make sure you know what your doing. Frost is getting $5 Million per year and other coaches around the country with similiar records as Scott after 3 years are getting fired and historically have gotten fired. So yes I think they should have an open discussion. EDIT: To be clear I am not saying Moos tells Frost what to do. But perhaps he could say something like. I don't see progress with what Verduzco is doing. What am I missing that you see?
  21. Which I agree we are not at a point that Moos should be mandating anything. But it doesn't mean he can't have a conversation with Frost about all his assistants and say something like "lets look at each assistant and talk through their value-value would be inclusive of recruiting and coaching(are they bringing in talent then when the talent gets here is the talent getting better physically and mentally do they understand their position and what is being asked of them) if said assistant recruits well but is not developing the kids so they can actually contribute to W's then maybe we should look at their overall value to the program. Moos should be able to say. Look, at this point it is your decision what you do for hiring and firing assistants. But if we continue down the road we are on with the same results for another year or 2. People are going to be calling for your head and mine. So lets make sure we have the right people on staff to get us to the end result we need. There is zero excuses to not make this work. Frost essentially get everything he wants from Moos and Moos and Nebraska Brass are willing to spend whatever it takes to get this right.
  22. Does any other school have an example like 1982 Penn State catching the ball like 3' out of bounds and it got called a catch?
  23. Damn. I was hoping to see Bookie covering Mookie.
  24. One Exception. Say after year 5 we have not progressed as a program and Frost is being stubborn to stick with the assistants he has now. At that point it is on Moos to make sure the program gets in the right direction. If that is firing Frost or telling Frost he needs to evaluate his staff. There should always be checks and balances. At this point in Frost's career he is not Nick Saban. No one is questioning Sabans decisions because he is a proven winner and shows he will swap assistants to do what is best to win the most games at Alabama. Frost has not proven any of those things so he is not above being questioned.
