  1. Also there has to be something going on with Ozigbo or some behind the scenes thing because there is not a person on Earth who would watch our games and not come to the conclusion that he should be starting. They cannot be that inept. Wilbon's a good back but you put a guy who can't pass block ahead of a guy with 3 straight 100+ yard games who can also block? What is that
  2. is there ANY scenario where Riley stays? Like if he beats Penn State on the road and fires Langs and Cav at the end of the year or something similar? The guy fired both his best friend Banker and Bruce Read last year, I think he's shown he's willing to make changes and do whatever he can. It's not enough at all and he's gotta go IMHO, but is there any scenario he stays? I'm just worried about selling out for Frost and not getting him and then being back to square one. So sick of this "new scheme" "HC needs his guys in here" "Give him a few years" thing
  3. riley looked like a broken man at the podium. like he could barely hold it together. he's not the guy for nebraska and needs to go. it's just unacceptable and mind-blowing. but i think after losses people tend to forget that the guy wants to win too. people act like he doesn't care at all and its obvious he does. I really respect that about him. But it just wasn't good enough and he has to be gone. No other way around it. But even though it's infuriating and the guy hasn't done anywhere near a good enough job to stay, it's tough on him too. None of the players or coaches want to see the stands half empty. Rough it came to this and I feel for him, but it's just gotten sooooooo bad.
  4. i learned that there's been no difference in a year (it didn't take this long to realize that, just the nail in the coffin.) This year's OSU game and last year's were both unbearably awful with a team that looked like they had no idea what they were doing. At least last year we were on the road during a night game at Ohio Stadium and had a backup QB. This year looked identical. As a fan I want them to win every single game. Obviously. I want them to be Bama. But I will settle for just not getting absolutely destroyed in games to the highest degree. Wisconsin is a good team. But why can NW hold their back to 89 yards and we let up 300? Why can't we even make these games respectable? We get absolutely MASSACRED in this games every single time it feels like and thats whats so frustrating. If they beat us they beat us. But for the love of God, please don't make me watch 70 point blowouts, single game rushing records, 66-3, 42 points in a half, QB's with 7 touchdowns through three quarters, 40 first downs, etc. How is that so hard to just be decent at least
  5. This is such a weird conversation lol. It went from disciplining kids for being offsides to the moral and ethical consequences of grown men in strip clubs lol what if they jumped offsides and got yelled at and are trying to improve on it, or like they're trying to adjust to a new defensive scheme or something and are having common football mishaps
  6. I find it very, very, very hard to believe that the Athletic Director of the University of Nebraska "does not want what is best for the athletic program." Peters made some good points (although some of it seems like he is making pretty big assumptions about Riley and the administration given that he isn't with the team during game week, or in the locker room, or really anywhere actually), but Eichorst has nothing to gain from running a big ten school's athletic program in the ground. I absolutely believe he isn't a great communicator, and he has definitely handled some things wrong, but come on dude. Baseball, volleyball, and gymnastics won big ten championships last year and 13 Nebraska sports teams went to the post season. Even though Riley hasn't performed to expectation at all, people inside the football community who know what they're talking about absolutely lauded him for that hire. Keyshawn sent his kid here, Les Miles sent his kid here, Kurt Warner sent his kid here. At the time college football coaches rated Riley as the second most underrated coach in the country behind Cutliffe. Herbstreit called it a great hire, Brock Huard said there's no one he'd rather his kid play for, Mack Brown said it was a great hire, PAC-12 assistants said they were happy to see him go because he was the best talent evaluator in the conference by far, yada yada yada yada. It's been excruciatingly disappointing thus far and Eichorst hasn't handled it that well in my view, but to say the guy isn't interested in what is best for the athletic program is incredibly absurd. It didn't work out like everybody wanted and hoped it would, tough luck. Just because you fail doesn't mean you don't care
  7. Exactly, pretty unbelievable. Article I read said he wasn't even on the team at first but Bo heard he was on campus and begged him to play. Even drove to the kids house after he quit and told him he would start if he came back, against Tressel's wishes. And then played him anyway in the third quarter of a game that was 52-6.
  8. I forget where I read it or who said it (might've been on here or from some OSU fans) but I remember people saying Riley has always been known to drop some games he has no business losing and winning some he has no business winning. like in year 1 with the Michigan State win, for example. as frustrating as these first three games have been, if they can get some things straightened out and we can beat Wisconsin at home, Ohio State at home, or pull of a win at Penn State on the road, it would be huge for the program. And I absolutely think we have a shot, especially because we will be underestimated going into a lot of them. I'm still excited to see how things progress. We don't have anything to lose at this point. Who knows what could happen if we get on a roll at the right time? USC was 1-3 last year at the beginning of the season. Obviously we are nowhere near as talented as they are and the situations are a little different, but people were calling for Helton's head at that point and they turned it around. Anything can happen. Just gotta keep the faith.
  9. I don't blame SE for wanting to get rid of Bo in the slightest. No matter how many games the guy won. I mean yesterday the guy literally played a convicted rapist in a blowout game this weekend for no reason, despite literally everybody in the country including Tressel telling him not to. And afterwards, he said you had to be "happy for the kid." If SE tried to hire the opposite of Bo, I can understand why. I can imagine him being impossibly selfish and brutal to work with. I don't think SE is the egomaniac, I think he had no way to handle a coach who was an absolute psychopath.
