He's smart. He will take all the 4-5 star talent. Only a handful of TE's will even be rated four star ... so I'm guessing that with the other small school offers he won't be "sniffing'" in this kids direction unless some last minute need arises.

Didn't seem like a 4-star to me. For 4.5 he seemed slower. Wouldn't project him be a Husker WR as he wouldn't do much blocking.

I could see this kid at TE as well. If you watch his catches out of the backfield he looks a lot like a TE. Lots of places this kid could fit. Raises his value in my world.

I would have preferred us going after him strong, locking him up and then letting recruit for the class. Tactically, it's an early, big mistake by the staff ... one that is disappointing and I had hoped would be corrected this go around.

Cy ... that's a nice jab. I do agree with you ... the B1G was a far easier road this year then the Big 12. Long term it is a better fit ... and that's the point. On the other hand, the long term options for the Cyclones don't look to good. It's nice to see a Cyclone fan cocky off of a few decent wins ... especially knowing that it's been like in various years just to be Northern Iowa. I'm hopeful that Iowa State won't end up in the same conference with Northern Iowa and win atleast half the recruiting battles against them. If not, a very average B1G team like Iowa will roll you almost every year.

Read the article cover to cover ... amazing that in all of it they never discuss the advantage that the $EC has in their oversigning. Amazing to hear that if they have a small class of say 14, they will still oversigning to 25. Basically, the status wuo continues and they are not only fine with it ... they think that's fair. Still don't get why the NCAA doesn't see this as fair for all other schools. One only has to look at the dominance of the $EC to see that these extra recruits land them 2-5 solid recruits each year at a minimum. It gets greater for a Bama as theses extra players are 4 and 3 star recruits. Crazy.

I'd love to see him have Bama, LSU and Huskers as his final three ... show major interest in the $EC schools ... silently commit to both of those schools and wait until NSD to inform everyone that the Huskers are his choice. :-)

I think LB is a really strong position for us. I'm hoping we take atleast three. Seeing it as a strong area and we have a bigger class I would nt be opposed to four.

If we need an "easy" schedule to get in the flow ... then to me we ought to see some of these other RB's in those games so if Rex gets injured you have some confidence in a few players. This is a sticking point I have with the staff. I'd love to see more play of some new guys.

Loved the article. Great read. Appreciated that the writer didn't use the research to make any judgments. He just let it speak for itself. The "tone" in the writing was excellent. Lots of fans could learn a lot from not what was said but how it was said. I just wish folks would stop trying to win a damn debate and be a fan ... that applies to many threads outside this one.

Robsker, I don't disagree with what you said. Just wanted to say that if the Huskers would have played four quarters against USC, played better D on 2-3 plays, no TO's, I think we could have won that bowl game. I would place ARK in that same camp of team. So, if one assumes we play like the bowl game, yes, we get beat 2-3 TD's ... if we play well ... it's a game. Personally, I like the "tough" game to help young players learn to perform under those circumstances. It doesn't scare me, but, your points are valid and I get that.

Couple of thoughts ... don't we have to take away atleast four National Championships if we want this. There are a couple of QB's that were committed to us in the past few years at one point that play in the NFL ... interesting. Finally, looks like Scam Newton did pretty good in the NFL and I like what R3G has done. I wanted him here at Nebraska. I think he will do fine in the NFL. Those type of QB's seem to be making a place in college and the pros. I'll hold out hope ... Nebraska has done just fine with the QB's we won with. It's the "traditional" Husker football we need to get back to executing ... and I believe it's being restored a bit at a time. I'll certainly remain optimistic with what we have in TA and Carnes. They still have a couple of years to develop before even hitting the field.

Read this morning in the Omaha World-Herald that the staff just realized that. The "word" is that they will be releasing Tommy from his scholarship. Guess we got a QB who will walk on that passed for a couple more TD's (Fyfe) :-)
