  1. I'm sticking with my belief that Trev already has "his guy" and it's someone currently not coaching. That leaves... Urban Meyer Dan Mullen Tom Herman Chris Petersen Bob Stoops Gary Patterson Meyer will be in town next weekend.... let's show him what we've got.
  2. All depends on how much we're willing to pay. Now isn't the time to take the cheap route and hire an unproven commodity and hope it works.
  3. He's one guy I think everyone would be OK with... solid coach and appears to be a decent human being.
  4. You really want to risk hiring a guy who had a worse record than Frost last year?
  5. He's the Wisky coach-in-waiting when Chryst is let go
  6. If we narrow the list to the guys currently not coaching.... Urban Meyer Tom Herman Chris Petersen Dan Mullen Ed Orgeron Bob Stoops anybody else?
  7. There's a reason why he chose to pull the trigger now, and my guess is that his target is currently not coaching and he's trying to get a deal done quickly. Meyer will be in town next weekend... perhaps an audition of sorts?
  8. The fact that they didn't want til October 1 leads me to think that their target is someone who currently isn't coaching, and they are looking to make a quick turnaround.
  9. Urban Meyer is an elite coach. These kids want to play for someone who gives them the best shot at making it to the NFL. He's one of them.
  10. Rhule is the hot name, but can we really wait until the end of the NFL season to find out? I still say our best bet is to focus on someone who is currently not coaching... Meyer, Herman, Mullen, etc.
  11. I'm personally not a big Klieman fan, mainly because I don't think he'll be able to recruit the level of talent we need.
  12. ...and I don't think any realistic person is expecting that. However, the West isn't that difficult to win, and there's absolutely no reason why we can't be on the level of a Wisconsin or Iowa. Urban Meyer will be in town next weekend... coincidence? I'm glad he'll get to see our talent and new facilities firsthand. It's not like this is going to require a drastic rebuild -- we have talent. Not too late to salvage a decent recruiting class and bring in guys from the portal who would love the opportunity to play for him. Question is, would Trev even consider him, or does he have too many skeletons in his closet?
  13. Mark Stoops makes quite a bit making/selling his bourbon in KY. Not to mention, he has very little pressure to win there, because Kentucky has traditionally been pretty bad in football. Kentucky fans are happy with 7 wins a year. I don't see Bob coming, either. Taylor has bigger fish to fry right now, trying to win Super Bowls. Of all the guys that I've seen mentioned, the least likely is Fickell; he's not leaving Ohio, period. That said, I agree that it doesn't hurt to ask. My list is as follows: Urban Meyer Matt Rhule Bill O'Brien Tom Herman Matt Campbell Troy Calhoun Jamey Chadwell Hugh Freeze (highly doubtful we'll even reach out to him) Brett Bielema Kyle Whittingham Chris Klieman Dan Mullen Kendall Briles Mark Stoops Bob Stoops Ed Orgeron (I personally wouldn't want him as HC, but possibly DC for his recruiting ability)

The only realistic one on that list is Rhule... again, just my opinion. That said, I agree that it doesn't hurt to ask. 15. The point is that both of those calls could've gone either way. They easily could've said that there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the ruling on the field. But we lost anyway. Not because of the refs, but because we suck.
  16. I honestly think that MJ thought he had a legit chance at being our next HC if Frost got canned, and that he used that as a recruiting tool. He very well still may think that.
  17. Worst part of it all is that we'll likely lose Grant, Allen, and others to attrition. Their stock has risen immensely and they will receive plenty of calls from coaches of other schools telling them to transfer.
  18. Sealed his own fate by choosing to bring his buddies rather than legit coordinators. Didn't learn from Riley's mistake. Well, now we can let the "Who will the next HC be?" thread gain real steam.
