  1. Wonderful news!! Like Nameless stated in his post, we've had 3 DCs in the last 5 years and we're trying to finalize our recruiting. It would have been terrible, IMO, if Cosgrove left. I think that Blake, Cosgrove and Callahan have something to prove. They're not going anywhere....yet.
  2. Were the criminals thieves of some sort? Did the notices somehow delay or prevent the criminals' arrests? Did the criminals have to observe the public reading the notices to benefit? Did the notices ask the public to take some sort of action if they identified themselves as potential victims of this criminal activity?
  3. Okay, Okay...I TOTALLY got defensive, miscontrued VVs intentions, and over-reacted. I WAS WRONG. sorry. sorry. Sorry. Feel like a heel. My bad. Don't know what else to say
  4. Hey Victors, you're a member of this board, too!! Sorry to have alienated you, and I was probably a bit harsh on how I perceived your intentions with your post. Please accept my apologizes. Like I said...I like most of your posts...I just didn't get why your last post was so discontinguous.
  5. Dammit, I'm going to have to agree with you. The ACC looks tough this year...BIG TEN looks tough, too - though no one really has played anyone yet. Most conference play has just started. Too early to tell. BIG TWELVE looks weak without a dominate Kansas. How do you think Michigan will do in the BIG TEN this year. Anyone going to be ILLINOIS?
  6. Victors, Victors, Victors....(shake head slowly back and forth) I actually like most of your posts. Seriously, you are very respectful in your posts to members of this board, and you sometimes have decent arguments to back-up your pro-BIG TEN and MICHIGAN stances. But... How did you EVER come up this stuff Sounds like to me, you just want stir things up on this board? You know that every member on this board would respond to that quote with overall bowl wins this year. This will lead to comparing like opponents...yaddy ya ya. We've been through all of this before the Alamo Bowl. And, of course, we would boast that the B12 has the 2005-2006 champ. Yaddy ya ya I would say that NO CONFERENCE - even the BIG TWELVE - could say that they were the dominate conference this year. Ohio State beat up on Notre Dame...so what? IMO, Notre Dame is just as overrated as Michigan. (Oops that might stir up a reply). I'm not saying that OSU dooesnt' deserve their ranking, it's just that it doesn't prove anything. Sorry your board isn't interesting right now. Maybe you can post on your board that you think that the BIG TWELVE is the strongest conference and see what happens. That should keep you busy for awhile
  7. It depends ...in my book. If we were running the option, I'd say Frazier, without a doubt. But, if the question is "which one would you rather have on your team TODAY (that is, with the WC offense), Young would have to be the choice. Kind of an odd question/poll. You know, it's funny that before the game, all the analysts (sorry, but I can't stop harping on ESPN...they drive me crazy ) were saying the Bush being drafted first was a foregone conclusion. Then the Rose Bowl and all you hear now is how Vince Young is SO GREAT..that they've NEVER seen a quarterback dominate a game so much.. and that he will be drafted first. They can certainly turn on a dime, cant' they!!
  8. Just goes to prove ESPN's love affair with Notre Dame (beat two teams with winning records in 2005) and Michigan (do we have to overrate them EVERY YEAR!) I'd agree with Oklahoma. Bomar has improved greatly over the year. I see them rebounding in 2006 and KICKING TEXAS BUTT again.
  9. Besides the Miami-LSU fiasco, don't you think that this was one helluva bowl season for collegiate football. There were sooooooooooooo many tight games. The UT-USC game was the icing on the cake? Just a great game to watch and lived up to the hype.
  10. USA and AP have us at #24....as it should be...don't think there should be must agrument about our ranking. WAY TO GO COACH CAL AND COMPANY!
  11. I seriously needed a good chuckle this morning. I could see the TV commercial on this one...the camera panning to a avid MU fan with painted body and face and wearing an expression of extreme disappointed (or dismay) while watching his beloved Wolverines go down to the Huskers!!
  12. Sorry I rained on your parade, Nameless
  13. Nice classy quote...What would one expect when you have such a GREAT matchup between two storied programs? I know that some wanted to play Iowa in a bowl this year (because they thought it was more of a winable game for us). But, I was pleased as punch that we got the Michigan matchup. The game was/is a classic, and deserves the prestige of having the record viewership for ESPN collegiate football broadcast!! The ALamo Bowl has been great for Nebraska and NEBRASKA HAS BEEN GREAT FOR THE ALAMO BOWL!!
  14. That sounds familiar! Another fairly accurate prediction from HB
  15. Wouldn't it be ironic if Carr was let go? that would mean that the last three coaches that Callahan has faced have one-way-or-the-other left their position. After all the negative recruiting by other schools in which those coaches proclaimed that Callahan was not going to be around very long, Callahan has actually survived while other coaches fade into oblivion! What coach would want to FACE Coach Cal and company after seeing how we dismantled the coaching staff at three schools within three games
  16. Heck, I would have loved to see a 11-0 season!! I thought that this year was actually difficult to predict. So many unanswered questions at the beginning of the year. Seems like alot of folk were cautiously optomistic, like yourself, at the start of the season. I think that most would agree that the season panned-out as well as expected...maybe even better
  17. Time to stand up and be accounted for....fortunately, no one seemed to be completely out-of-wack on their preseason 2005 UN predictions. I was amazed how accurate you guys were!!! Sorry, if I left anyone out (I was curious to see how Benard and FF predicted how the season would go, but I didn't have the time or luck. Maybe someone else could find their predictions? Couldn't find a posting from Nameless or ETR, either) DaveH (7-4) Hunter (7-4) BigRedJake (9w) hoyamann (8-3) RuffH20 (7-4) rawhide (7-4 or 8-3) TheKiD (7-4 or 8-3) indianahusker (7-4 or 8-3) kc husker (8-3) Touchdown Tommie (7-4 or 8-3) kramer (9-2) skerfan (8-3) Huskerfan66 (8-3 or 7-4) huskerstag (7-4 or 8-3) johnny husker (9-2) big dave (8-3) DJR313 predicted on Aug 24, 2005 that Nebraska would go to the Alamo or Holiday Bowl and finish 8-4!!!!!! Trev Alberts picked us to go 7-4 I seem to recall that Benard predicted another losing season, but I can't find the post! AWESOME PICKINGS....JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW KNOWLEDGEABLE THE HUSKERBOARD MEMBERS ARE.
  18. Reminds me of LP. It's a shame that these one-time great collegiate players just toss their future in the gutter and tarnish their accomplishments on the field to boot.
  19. Exerpts From Rivals (GoPowercat.com). This information was not in their subscriber service. It's available to all. Did your impression with Nebraska change over time? JF: Just leading up to the final week of the commitment I was ready to go to Nebraska, I was getting excited about it. Coach Prince just came in and really caught my attention. Even though you had verbally committed, what was the recruiting process like with other schools? JF: I didn't get a whole lot of negative recruiting. Every once in a while somebody would say something about Nebraska just being a stop for Coach Callahan and that he wanted to get back in the NFL and he won't be there for long. Talking to Coach Callahan, he's into it, he's loving Nebraska football. Did Coach Prince make any promise of any kind to you? What did he tell you about your role there? JF: He said I would just come in and compete on a clean slate. He said he had no loyalties to any players coming in. He told me that some of the guys there are good, but that maybe I could be better. He just wants me to come and compete for the starting job. Do you have a lot of Nebraska stuff that you don't know what to do with? JF: Yeah. I had quite a bit of Nebraska gear. Bottom line: What happened where it made sense for you not to go to Nebraska and go somewhere else? JF: Point blank, Nebraska wasn't being completely honest with me. Leading up, the summer I committed and the first part of the school year they were talking about how Joe Dailey transferred and I would have a chance to come in and compete for to starting job. The feeling I started to get from Coach Callahan as of late, starting in October about how it was going to be a great fit for me for five, five-and-a-half years. And he hadn't been saying it like that all along? JF: The whole time he was saying I'd have a shot to compete, and I felt like he was kind of writing me off and had decided to redshirt me pretty much. ANALYSIS: FIRST HE SAYS THAT HE WAS SWAYED BY COACH PRINCE...THEN HE SAYS THAT CALLAHAN WASN'T HONEST WITH HIM. ANOTHER INTERESTING TIDBIT WAS THE NEGATIVE RECRUITING COMMENT CONCERNING OTHER SCHOOLS WITH OUR PROGRAM. WHERE IS THERE A SOURCE FOR THE RUMORS THAT HE'S LOOKING INTO MISSOU??
  20. Crap...I quoted the wrong entry...I meant to quote the original entry about the rumored NU recruiting violation (posted by Husker23) NOT Hack's rumor from previous post
  21. nOT to add fuel to the fire, but I also heard this rumor about a week ago. But, I've seen nothing about it anywhere until I read this post. The rumor involved a Frank Solich recruiting violation....again, as far as I know, it's just a rumor weed that apparently has spread (and continues to spread with this post). I say delete this thread until someone has a source for the info.
  22. McKeon - leadership. Defensive line - pressure we didn't have last year and responsible for us leading in sacks this year. Taylor - gutsy quarterback who gets better each week. Ross - not an impressive year as last year. But like McKeon, displays that leadership our team has needed. Congdon - Got better throughout the year. Kicked a game-winning field goal beyond 40 yds in a whipping wind. Nate Swift - turned into a dependable position receiver ANy of these could conceivably deserve MVP. When all is said is done. I think Zac Taylor is the guy. He is a gritty leader who has appeared to learn the system is a short period of time. Without him (and you need to go back to last year for a comparasion) we would have been SOL this year, IMO
  23. Victor, you're a class act. Thanks for congratulatory remarks and compliments to our fans and team. I've also posted here that I would like to see more matchups between mighty Michigan and Nebraska. This game was a classic!
  24. All the Michigan fans are complaining about the officiating. Even the ESPN commentators were getting into it. Personally, I saw good and bad calls go both ways, but I think Nebraska benefitted the most. Most notably, the pass interference that wasn't called on Zach Bowman, and the fact that Carr had to use two timeouts to get plays reviewed. Of course, you had that terrible call go against us on the coverage of the punt. But, then again, Cory Ross sure looked like he fumbled the ball on that early drive in the first quarter. Anyway, I hope Michigan fans don't dwell on the officiating..because it was a great game, played hard by both teams.
