  1. Absolutely devastating. According to CBS Sports, he was hit by a freight train.
  2. Sorry I meant to say depleted not deleted.
  3. Nebraska may need them right away. Washington may not come back. It was hard to get a good read on Johnson who didn’t show anything great but that could be from being inexperienced. After Thompkins knee injuries we don’t know if he will be 100 percent. That leaves Mills who appears to be a solid but not a great back, but Ozibo wasn’t either until his senior season. Thus, it’s possible with winter conditioning we may see a better Mills. Plus Robinson may get beat up again by carrying the ball as much as he did last season. So what appears to be a position of good depth could get depleted. I’m glad we got both of them.
  4. Wow, read this quote from Greg Smith: “So a little intel here. My sources indicate that Miami flat out lied to Jaiden and told him that Travis Fisher was leaving. That is what caused the panic on his end. A lot of that time on the phone was Frost and Fisher trying to convince him that Fisher was not leaving. It was obviously planned for him to be 'N' because the family had Husker gear on at ceremony.” “Recruiting gets wild, but the Huskers won out here.”
  5. This one we will have to keep an eye on. Erin Sorensen, of Hail Varsity, said one of the reasons they sign several WRs is in case Betts doesn’t make it academically. Let’s keep our fingers cross.
  6. Wasn’t he offered an academic scholarship at Yale? If he is a good enough student to go to Yale, why couldn’t N offer him an academic scholarship as a backup plan? Perhaps it’s not that simple?
  7. The coaches it appears will try Hickman at WR. That should also help the Huskers’ WR small-size problem.
  8. If the relationship with Frost and staff is stronger than Riley and company, then it probably doesn’t make any difference. But weird stuff happens.
  9. According to a Minnesota message board, Fleck can be overbearing, and apparently he has said he is not for everyone.
  10. Great pickup! Hopefully KJ will still be on board.
  11. I wonder what 247 and Rivals will rate him.
  12. It appears if we get him or not, the plan is to keep Chris Hickman at wideout.
  13. I agree with this. And Frost being a former NU player certainly was a big factor in him coming to Nebraska. With that said, despite the the location with less population, cold weather, and the greater challenge of recruiting, the Husker job after the 1997 season with TO retiring was very desirable. It was probably in the top five then. There would had been several really good coaches who would had wanted that job. And BC had proven you can recruit top 10 talent to Nebraska, which he achieved in is second recruiting class. And he had another top 10 class brewing until it became clear Billy C would get fired. Hopefully Frost turns this program around, and this job becomes desirable again. But of course with success, I would expect Frost to be here for a long time.
  14. Not a Texas fan at all, but with that said, I am also puzzled. I believe TH was the right hire, but with all the talent they have, something is wrong. UT and Oklahoma recruit most of the best players in the State of Texas. But I suppose UT needs to give Herman at least five years, but who knows if the University will be patient enough. However, let them lose, as far as I am concern.
  15. I never paid too much attention to recruiting service rankings. But I now think there is something to it. Wisconsin’s three-star players were no match against OSU’s four and fives. Those big-time Badger running backs can’t do anything against that talented OSU DL. I said I trust Frost in his recruiting evaluations. We may not need to achieve top-five recruiting classes to succeed at the highest level. But I’m thinking average classes within the top 15. Can we achieve that? Time will tell.
  16. Speaking of Osborne, maybe S.F. needs to have a long talk with him and gets some possible feedback. As for the coaches, stability is important. But if this poor play continues this and next season, then, yes, perhaps some coaching changes should be considered. But I think three years would be a fairer assessment rather than two for both the coaches and the players. But T.O. studied psychology. Hopefully he has some thought on what’s going on.
