  1. At Wildcat Lair message board they are really getting nervous. “Why would he go to Nebraska?” One fool said they haven’t been significant since Irving Fryer. Really? What they don’t get is we are ON OUR WAY BACK!!!
  2. Hail Varsity says he is not a priority wirh Bama, but is with the Corn.
  3. Bland told Greg Smith that none of the Nebraska staff have made an in-home visit. His commitment appears to be more than just shaky.
  4. If the kid stays at Kentucky, I wish him all the best. But if he flips, welcome aboard.
  5. He may be keeping a tight lip about Nebraska — just didn’t want stir up the pot perhaps. But since Nebraska will be allowed a follow-up visit, which will probably include Frost, the door still must be partially open. Again if he changed his mind because of a misunderstanding and Held reminded Wandale the reasons why he was going to Nebraska, his commitment may be shaky.
  6. Getting back on message, if Wandale truly wants to stay near his family, then it would be a very high climb for N to get him. However, if the change of heart was because of a misunderstanding and if Held effectively reminded him of the reasons why he wanted to come to N, it may be totally wide open.
  7. The Kentucky fans at catsillustrated.com are quite confident about Ryan Held’s home visit and believe it’s a sure thing that Robinson will be on the Kentucky campus. He may very well sign with them. However, I’m not so sure they understand the recruiting game as we do. When your team rarely signs or almost never generates any interest at all from highly sought-out players, I can see how their fans aren’t aware of the recruiting games that go on at schools that aggressively recruit and sign some top players. If I ever hear of one of our commitments hosting coaches from another school, I would find that concerning. Again Robinson may sign with Kentucky, but at the very least, a crack in the door is opened.
  8. Hail Varsity interview: Loved the fans, especially that they stood up most of the time during the MSU game. Impressed with the nutrition and conditioning programs, and he said the weather didn’t bother him at all. But he still won’t say which school he favors. He did say he will sign early, but won’t announce it until February ... how can he do that? ???
  9. Yep, Greg Smith over at Hail Varsity said that Ryan Held is visiting Robinson. Hold on to your seats. It’s not over yet.
  10. Whoever he signs with, how long will he stay until he leaves and transfers somewhere else? As Frost has said, he wants players who want to be here. It would be better use of Frost’s time not to focus on this one who seems to have no idea where he wants to go. I can imagine that is what Frost is thinking.
  11. If the kid is willing to hear what Frost has to say, he most likely is looking past it. No I don’t have any evidence to back up what I said. I just know most teams have a low percentage of fans like what you are describing — of course they are a small minority. Yes it certainly could be true that there are more on the Husker side misbehaving, based on how you describe our fans as overly passionate. But I’m sure there were a few on the Kentucky side when it seemed to be almost a sure thing he was heading our way. Perhaps you didn’t see it on the message boards you looked at. But most likely some may had come out somewhere. Just the nature of the beast. We have a lot of good Husker fans like you and me. It’s just that the bad ones stick out like a sore thumb.
  12. He must have had second thoughts on Utah at the last minute. Sound familiar?
  13. Respectfully you missed my point. There is no reason for the young man to be any more turned off by Nebraska fans because a few behave like jerks, since he most likely experienced the same thing from some poorly behaved Kentucky fans. Of course Husker fans shouldn’t behave badly and should wish the kid well, but that wasn’t my point. Not trying to be difficult — just saying.
  14. Not really. When it appeared Robinson was heading to Nebraska, I’m sure their was a share of nasty comments from Kentucky fans. And there will be again if he flips. I’m not saying he will though.
  15. This is why in team competition — in this case Big 10 college football — is so fascinating. The Corn kept OSU close and could had won it, MI mashed us, and OSU destroys MI. It’s what makes college football and other team sports so great.
  16. He will get a lot of pre season press next year.
  17. Frost had one call where the Corn went on 4th down on their own 9-yard line. There would had been a good share of angry Husker fans if the Corn didn’t convert. With that said, it was extremely gutsy and thank goodness we got the first down. I don’t remember the Corn taking that kind of a risk that early in a game.
  18. The Corn will continue to get better. Iowa will remain about the same. This adds up to the Huskers winning more than they will lose against the Hawkeyes. Nebraska has a high ceiling they will hopefully climb. Iowa pretty much has reached it. If the football bounces more their way and with some luck, they may have a season where they go 10 and two — that could had happened this season. But it’s not like it will be any better than this Iowa team. Ferentz’s teams more times than not are good, including the 2015 season, but they have never been great. I feel hopeful Frost will have some great teams. Iowa is pretty much stuck from moving to the next level with Ferentz.
  19. We don’t have the playmakers on the D, except maybe Barry. Chin said that a few weeks ago. Recruit, recruit and recruit.
  20. The most important thing is the improvement during the latter part of the season — something we haven’t seen in quite awhile. Beat the Hawks!
  21. Also Frost in his early assistant coaching years was a DC. I am thinking Northern Iowa, but I am not sure. I would like to think an attacking defense would have more appeal to recruits versus one that is not.
  22. I have nothing bad to say about Milton who has been great at UCF. But I would be worry about his durability in the Big with his size. I would think Frost would be reluctant to run him much, and he didn’t run that often at UCF with Frost.
  23. Of course I would love to have both, too. I’m just as greedy as you are. Blah Ha!!!
  24. Ozigbo of course doesn’t have Washington’s acceleration, but for a big guy, he gets going pretty quickly. So I will respectfully disagree on this. Otherwise this is an excellent post.
