  1. Also, there will almost always be kids that go overlooked up to December. Kids get injured the prior season and don't get an opportunity to prove their worth until their senior season. I don't see this kind of thing going away any time soon, maybe with an earlier start we won't be searching for kids like these this late in a recruiting class. But those kids who skyrocket late in the cycle will always be there.
  2. That popular? or just a collector?
  3. Apologies for my frustration... I just wish we had all of the info on some of these guys, Fonua was at best a band-aid. the rest of these kids could have provided something beyond that with their physical attributes. Parker looks like the real deal pass rushing wise but not the full package, if we get him, hopefully we can expand his abilities. Maybe he already has them, and most posters (including myself) don't have a clue what they are talking about.
  4. I don't see anything as guaranteed from this point.. you seem to be right...
  5. You win. I didn't notice any pursuit of any other OLB. We certainly pushed as hard for those guys..... I'll give you that Parker is still a real possibility, but Asante and Jordan seem to offer a different athletic ability that him.
  6. Alright, I will be the one to say it.... If we miss on Jordan I'm going to be upset we didn't pursue this kid more. We should have pursued him more from the get go. The need for his skill set is high, more than one target would have been a good idea, Hindsight is 20/20 I guess..
  7. Forgive me for being so bold... but if we miss on this kid, and we already know we don't get Asante. (based on assumption) Do we calculate this as big miss, because my feeling is that we laid off Asante feeling that Jordan was not only the better player, but already "in the bag."
  8. Agree with you there. Since its late in the process any chance we try and sway him with a week or so before signing day? Can't remember the last time we did it, but it has happened before.
  9. His interview had me feeling it was TCU, but the interview could have spun it that way. I sure hope he is N, but TCU seems like the winner here. Hope I am wrong.
  10. Since he his a member of the board now, I would hope he is more on top of correcting our recruiting analysis of players. lol
  11. Sorry to bump him since he isn't relative to us anymore. Just curious where he was going to end up. His recruitment has been pretty stale since his decommitment. Just picked up an offer from BYU. Visited Houston in December. BYU, Tulsa and Texas Tech seem to be leaders, although the Texas Tech picks and info have been sitting the same since September. Really not much information on him at all.
  12. Im gunna bet that Piper wasn't running the camp circuit either. So some of this stuff is grain of salt worthy. Piper is a great athlete for his size and maybe if he plays class A, he is a high 3 or low 4 star without the camps. If he had ran the camp circuit this past summer he certainly would have been at lowest a mid 3 star. Seeing guys similar to my size with that much ability frustrates me, because some of that you just cant work on to achieve what he already has. My physical abilities compared to his make me understand why I wasn't so highly recruited 10 years ago lol.
  13. Well s#!t huge miss if Wisky or BSU picks him up... maybe we will get reminded in 5 years by you know who.
  14. According to 24/7 jumped 1170 spots.... High score. "what does that mean? did I break it?"
  15. While I agree, I'm not sure what you stated has any implication on why I would feel one way or another. He took his visit to UCLA last weekend so he spoke in person with Chip last, as of now.
  16. Ricky Slade- 5'9 180lbs- Penn state commit-APB 2017 Mecole Hardman- 5-10 169lbs- georgia commit-ATH 2016 Christian Kirk- 5"10 191 lbs- TAMU commit- WR 2015 Kyler Murray- 5'10 190lbs- TAMU commit-dual threat 2015 Adoree Jackson- 5'9.5" 182- USC commit- CB 2014 Those are all the players in the last 5 recruiting classes within 1 inch and 10-15 pounds of Wandale that were rated 5 stars. If Wandale is at least 5'10 and any weight above 180 I feel strongly that he is a 5 star.
  17. Yes and no. I feel like similar athletic ability has been attained with players slightly larger. (didn't research hard enough to find comparable players). I haven't found a five star player yet that matches Robinson's stature.
  18. That seems to be the problem with "athletes" as a position. In my mind his skill set is every bit of a five star, his stature is dragging him down. (our bias counted) I don't have any issue with him being a 5 star APB, since his skills were not displayed as consistently as a WR I can understand the issue in his ATH rating. But I feel like his skills translate between the two positions to make him a 5 star. Since a kid can have great hands but be slow and incredibly un-athletic... Wandale has shown every bit of athleticism needed and strong hands, maybe not great, but very good. (They wouldn't have displayed him the way they did at the AA game if he didn't.) Maybe with Frost domination, 24/7 will pick up the Duck-R as a position rating. lol
  19. Fritzsche needed to go to a school that could transform him into that prototype Tackle, Clemson was a good option but their class was too tight. I feel pretty comfortable with saying that Nebraska can transform him just as well with our S&C program now. The way I see it is Clemson wanted him as a possible alternative if they don't attain a four or five star tackle in the next few years to play whatever side he will play. I'm speculating a bit, but sure glad he chose Nebraska.
  20. Should be a five star in all reality, if he is 5"10 and 190 he gets a five star. I believe his size was taken into account too much in determining his rating, while Kentucky isn't amazing in competition they are certainly high for this recruiting class. 8 four stars for this class including Robinson and 12 nationally ranked players as far as 247 is concerned. I am definitely biased but it seems like his skill set on a slightly larger person would warrant 5 stars.
  21. The only thing that is persuading me to this assumption is the coaching staff. In hoping that 90-95 percent of these kids don’t only stay at Nebraska but make an impact in some fashion. Due to the character I think this staff recruits for.... here is hoping! i would ultimately be happy that 75 percent makes an impact and 80 percent stay, that is a possibility for this class and I feel will only dwindle as classes get “better”
  22. Imagining Alabama gets multiple 5 stars on the regular and mostly 4 stars seems like a wet dream for Nebraska. While I don’t think we need that to be competitive and possibly great. Due to what I think our coaching can do, and can emphasize via the right people for specific jobs. The trends in this class and 2020 look tremendous, if we didn’t end up in the top 15 next year in recruiting I would be absolutely shocked.
  23. I know we have great recruits already but doesn’t that sound like a f#&%ing haul? I know we will miss on one or two, but in my opinion three of those are ours. What a class. With fit, need and ability all being represented. Maybe it’s my rose colored glasses but... damn that looks goood to me. Really.
