  1. It's Nebraska, players that don't care, staff that doesn't care. They treat midweek games as a glorified practice and it's pathetic. Losing begets Losing! It was so apparent in Bolt's radio show last night. He simply doesn't care about midweek games. He virtually said it. It's almost like Bolt and staff go into midweek knowing they'll lose and he just doesn't care. He throws away any and all chances at hosting as a result. I called the show last night in hopes of asking about it and they wouldn't let me. They did ask me if I had another question to ask though before terminating my call. Total Coddling of Bolt. Scripting the questions. I lost "all" respect for him last night following that call. When a coach screens calls because the caller presents a difficult but honest question... well that shows arrogance and disrespect to the fan base. My question was a simple one. I wanted to ask Bolt if he, like the fans, believes the midweek performances over the last few seasons has cost us 1. a post season and 2. a chance to host. The screener would not allow the question.

  2. I'll be honest, not sure how well I can stomach another loss to a team that is 4 f'ing and 7 in their conference. Win the damn game!!! Bolt's radio show last night was pathetically lethargic. Even so, the Huskers look to me as the favorite to win the conference title. Purdue's remaining schedule is brutal. Michigan and Indiana's are both also difficult. Illinois has their toughest games left as well. So, if we don't lose a series, can get a series sweep from Minny or State the Huskers then should win the crown. Fingers crossed!!

As for tonight, WIN THE DANG GAME!!! No excuses NONE!! You want to play in the post season, then win the games you should!!! Hate how pathetic this team and "every" bolt team plays in the mid-weeks. It's inexcusable. Do your job and win!! Oh, did I mention I hate the crybaby jays?

  4. Illinois lost the series to Maryland which is HUGE for everyone. Indiana won. Purdue is up 4-2 over Northwestern.

Nebraska needs both these games if they hope to remain in 2nd place Monday.

Conference leaders (Illinois & Purdue) will be 11-4 following play today. Michigan & Indiana are 10-5. Nebrask is currently 9-4, sweep and we're in first with 3 weeks left. Yep, sounds good but in all honesty, just win the series and the rest will work itself out.

    Conference Race after this weekend:

    • Illinois - Ohio State, Iowa, at Purdue
    • Purdue - has Indiana, at Michigan, Illinois left to play
    • Indiana - on the road for Purdue & Nebraska, Michigan home
    • Michigan - at Michigan State, Purdue, at Indiana
    • Nebraska - at Minnesota, Indiana, at Michigan State

  5. Through 5 so the game is official if they decide to end it. Radar is showing a long term rain front moving in. They can finish the game tomorrow also if Iowa has the pitching. They have 2 starters that came into the weekend questionable that may become a deciding factor on today's game.

  6. Rushville was our biggest rival growing up. I played against Stoffer his sophomore and junior seasons. He was an incredible athlete. I also pitched against him my middle school years 3x and dude jacked one on me but we won all 3x's. Kelly was well liked in all the neighboring towns. That Rushville class of 82 was really talented. The Hinn family was really athletic and Rushville also had 2 really good lineman. Rushville own us in 81 and reached the C1 Quarterfinals, Crawford owned them in 82 (though I didn't play football my senior year, focused on Rodeo Club instead) and then was rolled in the quarters by Silver Creek.

An absolutely silly comment by whomever posted that.. Good Stuff BC... Seriously!! Dominated???? Even "if" it ended 4-1 that would be far from Domination.. Silly Iowa fans, they play 9 innings Iowa fan and in the end, the better team won.

    Final Box: (runs scored/hits/errors/lob)

    • Iowa 4/9/2/8
    • Nebr 7/8/1/11

  8. It's going to turn. This plate umpire is from Michigan and might be the most controversial umpire in the NCAA. He attempted to qual for the minors and they didn't even give him a spring game. He always injects himself into the game and as bad as his plate calls are his base calls are 3x worse. Thankfully replay now exists..

Watching the SCOTUS recently drills home the opinion I've had for a long time.  The SC is best when it's a 5-4 split.  One side having a large majority on the SC is a really bad thing.

I agree with you here. Sadly though a stack Supreme Court is often wanted by both parties. To be honest though, if justice truly is blind, it shouldn't matter but we all know how often politics plays a huge part in the outcomes. I am also against lifetime appointments. Seriously, all elected and appointed positions pertaining to government both state and federal should have term limits but especially supreme court justices for just this reason. It would prevent (or at least make it more difficult to) stacking. Also, age restrictions on justices. 75 and the judge is removed mid-term or early term. Also, I'm not against adding by term/age limiting. Meaning if a justice has fulfilled their term or has breached the age limit, they are honored by respecting their accomplishments through advisory positions to the court.

  10. Now I know he's only a 3 star (little poke @Dr. Strangelove cause he hates 3* recruiting) but 40 D1 offers.. Is there an expectation of a earning 4th star? Seems there was some hype around this kid both locally and nationally. Someone above (or maybe some journalist) stated he's body ready more than most freshmen TE prospects which kind of shocked me as I've always thought soft hands and quick feet were essential TE attributes more so than height/weight ratio. How wrong am I?

  11. So.... Warren Nolan Conference Predictions continues to predict Nebraska to win the conference and also reaching the 40 win mark. Fingers crossed baby!! Need to win the KU game and the Iowa series!! GBR!!!!

and honestly, when looking at the standings, I can see the reasons.

    1. The Huskers are expected to lose 1 game to either Iowa or Indiana (both home series)

    2. Minny and Michigan State haven't shown they have the pitching to match Nebraska.

    3. KU, KSU, S. Dakota St. are all winnable (especially in a deeper ball park that often holds the long balls, especially with the winds we've had of late.)

Lastly, the schedule is favorable in terms of traveling. The Huskers have of the 4 series remaining the 2 most threatening at home. It's hard to sweep a team as the Creighton series has shown over the last few years and so I hope that continues. KSU will be a dog fight "if" they chose for it to be as they have pitching depth. This weekend they play TCU, they travel to Lincoln and then home against KU. Still, it's a home game which favors the Huskers.

So, yes.. I can make an argument for winning the conference and hitting the 40 win mark. Question is, do I believe it?

Fewer than 37.  I have little faith in them winning midweek games.  That means they would need to win all of their weekend games....which I don't think they will.

(I haven't looked at the schedule.  I'm assuming the 4 non-con games are midweek and the conference games are weekend)

I should have posted the remaining schedule for everyone to view. I made the correction to the original post and edited it in. Thanks for the heads up.

  13. Ok, we just witnessed the Husker's putting together a very impressive win against the preseason favorite to win the conference. 16 games left of which 12 are conference games. The road to 40 is a very difficult one thanks to our loss in the rutgers series and creighton. Still, the path to 40 exists but it's a difficult path and 40 is the minimum to host for a north school. Can Nebraska reach that. My personal opinion is yes but not in the regular season. To reach that the team will have to go deep into conference tourney play. Hoping to hear what others think. I selected the 37+ wins which puts them as a 2 seed in a regional.

  14. Finally eating a little crow and it tastes awesome. Boys came to play today and it showed. They 1 home run is all we had and still managed to run rule them. That's the team I've been waiting on. I've been critical of the bats but I'm also on record saying this team has the talent. Hoping that talent is beginning to peak. Illinois is going to win the regular season title not because they're the top team, rather because they played the easiest schedule. Can't figure out why it seems that in every sport there's an original school of the big 10 that has a cream puff schedule. Every sport, Every year one Big 10 original is given a nearly uncontested path to a title but I digress.. back to this team.

They were focused, the bats gave run support to the staff thereby allowing a mostly simple game. (Throw a strike, trust your defense, get the out) It was awesome to see. Now, can they string more games like this together. Hoping so!!!

    Well Done Huskers!! GBR!!!!

    PS:

Thank You for the crow :woo
