  1. There is no reliable test developed yet to determine if someone is under the influence.
  2. That's why Vegas lines are the best predictor, they back up their predictions by allowing you to wager against them.
  3. One of the biggest weaknesses of this team is depth. I see Frost giving the backups a lot of time, therefore the margins of victory may be lower than expected.
  4. Watching Lawrence Phillips against Florida, he was to prototypical I-back.
  5. The last few practices will be a full game speed, and the contact will be more intense than it is now.
  6. There are about six games that right now seem 60/40 to 40/60 percent winnable. The remaining sis, while losable, have a very low probability of that happening.
  7. You need 250 unique posts to qualify for the debate in the politics cesspool.
  8. Wins matter. It's what most people see, and what gets recorded in history. But what is not measured adequately by the win total is the strength of schedule and competitiveness in each game. We have the schedule to make 10-2 a realistic goal, with no blowout losses.
  9. That is because they consider us to be their "rival".
  10. Just curious (honest question)... in general, how do pro-prospect quarterbacks feel about redshirting their first season? How many redshirt QBs turn pro after three seasons?
  11. That, or you can continue to recruit high quality quarterbacks and develop their talents.
  12. And if the third string is not serviceable after that (maybe not as bad as "terrible")?
  13. Everyone else on that list had at least seven wins last year (three teams).
  14. When you add a second quarterback, you take away a running back who is probably a better runner and blocker. Much better to train a back to be able to throw the ball.
  15. Because they are in the same state and the same conference?
  16. You must have at least one backup who is capable of running the offense well. And if that backup is a true freshman, then you do not redshirt.
  17. The undefeated 1971 team beat #2 Alabama, #3 Oklahoma and #4 Colorado. No other team has ever done that!
  18. The most impressive thing about the 1995 team was that we beat seven ranked teams, four in the top ten, by an average of 28 points! Note; Rankings based on final poll, not when we played them.
  19. I disagree, an 8-4 record would be a disappointment to me. Just curious; which four losses would be acceptable to you?
  20. The biggest knock against Solich was his inability to recruit. 1999 was still mostly an Osborne team.
  21. Then I would like to consider Colorado to be a rival... so we can cause them great pain in route to regular 50 point victories.
  22. OK then, we do agree! But reading further into my post, some of us stubborn old timers yearn for a rivalry that we consider great... a championship decider. Hopefully Iowa can step up their game and become a traditional power, the way Nebraska was 20 years ago and will be again under Frost. And if that happens, I will be very happy! Heck... bookmark this post and I will admit that I was wrong about them.
