I think if the coaches redshirt McCaffrey the risk of losing either him or Smothers is greatly increased because of how the transfer rules are being applied. Need more separation between the 2. One of them likely transfers anyway so it doesn't eliminate the possibility but if McCaffrey can be a sophomore next season and Smothers redshirts, then 2021 there would be 2 years between them, not 1. It's a little more ideal. This will make whoever commits at QB for 2021 very important.

It was incorrect of me to imply that the coaches weren't worried. I am sure that they are. It should have been more directed at fans who are worried about what the coaches will do with (gasp) two good centers.

It was Wisconsin for me. I never gave a second thought to Michigan other than when we played them that week. Certainly didn't circle it on my calendar

Coaches probably need to worry about getting Jurgens healthy enough to make it through Spring and fall practices before they worry about how they are going to get his athleticism on the field.

I have never cared about Michigan. I didn't like seeing us lose to them, but I never paid much attention if they were or were not on the schedule.
