  1. I wonder how many 3-9 teams have had their offense average 5 ppg more than their defense.
  2. Oliver is pretty damn athletic as well. IIRC he posted the teams highest vertical jump last spring and is one of the team's fastest players.
  3. I don't know but Chubba sure throws a purdy ball. hehe. But seriously every pass I've seen of his he throws a beautiful ball. No surprise that he's the no. 2 guy and that he's not all that far behind. Another good thing is I don't think he and Thompson are all that different as players which is something we haven't had for a few years. I felt like we had to make big adjustments to our offense for McCaffery and Smothers to play to their strengths. We shouldn't have to do that anymore.
  4. The way Fisher speaks of Hill sure makes you think he's gonna be one of the dudes at corner. I think you'd be more likely to see somebody like Brown move back from safety to corner before you'd see a guy like Hartzog. Brandon Moore hasn't played much football in the last couple years but he's still a multi-year starter from a top ten team, I guess it wouldn't surprise me at all if he could be the #3-4 corner.
  5. Yea Desmond is a douche. And the show will never be the same as it was with prime Lee Corso and people hold on to that so they keep bringing him on but he's just too far gone at this point. Although him saying "f#&% it" on live tv was hilarious. For as much crap as he's gotten around here I really don't mind Herbstreit they just need to find some better guys to surround him with.
  6. Give Cam credit for not giving up though.
  7. Kolarevic reportedly first team nickel. That one surprises me a little bit.
  8. Maybe we shouldn’t write Jailen Weaver off quite yet, he blew that play up!
  9. If Rahmir was truly the number 1 every down back, I really don't think they'd have him on every STs unit. I really think Rahmir is going to be their favorite 3rd down back and get plenty of PT, but I don't he'll be the guy with the most carries at the end of the year.
  10. Yea, since we have a QB committed at least one guy will have to move on, if not two. Smothers seems to be the obvious one if he's behind Purdy. RB I don't think they take one this year unless he's an absolute stud that you cannot pass up, but as of now they don't seem to be in on anybody of that caliber. We probably lose 1-2 guys out of this room as well probably depending on which guys are at the top of the depth chart by year end. WR I think Joseph will really put the pressure on some of those young guys that he didn't recruit. 3-4 guys move on there. Competition at all DB spots will be fierce this year, very easily could see at least 3 of those guys transferring. We will see a lot of movement after these new coaches will get a year to evaluate and work with all the guys they didn't recruit.
  11. Tiger is a billionaire. He can afford all the hookers and blow he wants and have plenty to spare.
  12. That's when you know you have "f#&% you money".
  13. After thinking about this a little more I’m guessing it went down something like this. At some point in the process dragging out Coach had a change of heart about using up the extra scholarship. (Maybe because he’s killing it in recruiting again). He has the idea of bringing Caffey on as a non scholarship player to avoid the penalty with the help of NIL. From there either A. The deals didn’t amount to what Caffey thought they would. B. She misunderstood what was going on and thought she was getting a scholarship plus some NIL. C. At the 11th hr she decided it would be nice to have the NIL deals on top of scholarship and thought she could get both from another school. Reading between the lines from Cook’s statement I think this is likely what happened.
  14. So maybe I’m completely off base here but it sure sounds like Cook agreed to let Kayla come back, but she was shopping around for a possible NIL deal. Then either Cook got wind of it and was pissed off he was willing to sacrifice an extra scholarship for her and she was stringing them along or she found a deal and told Cook she was entering the portal. Regardless it seems obvious from that statement that coach is not real happy about the situation.
  15. That's one position I was worried about our depth so that's good to hear.
  16. Obviously it will be hard not to have a drop off at center but assuming that guys get better and don't regress we may be as good or better at every other spot.
  17. Braxton Clark has a lot of experience but I get the feeling Hill is going to take that other spot.
  18. More like a reminder of what we won’t be missing at quarterback.
  19. Not disagreeing with anything you said. Some might say that it really shows the ineptidude of the staff to post that bad of a record with a team that is stastically way better. But to me it shows that we could very easily could flip our record from 3-9 to 9-3 just like UCF did when they were 0-11.
  20. I read that same statistical analysis that you're referring to and they basically ran a simulation using all of our statistics 5000 times and only came up with a 3-9 season twice. The simulations showed the we should have been an 7-7 or 8-4 team. You could easily point to 3-4 games where one play could have changed the outcome of the game. Crazy really.
  21. Did he play some guard in that time and Bando played tackle?
  22. Hard to imagine you could lose a player of her caliber and not worry about it all but Kaitlyn Hord is likely as good or better.
