It's a shame I can't find what page someone posted about Mike Farrell and the coaching firm that Nebraska is using. Think Mike Farrell said something like the search firm Nebraska is using flip's coaches. If it is Matt Rhule, how did Matt Rhule name come into play and why didn't the search firm so called flip a head coach? Did we even need the search firm?

Yeah one can only hope we get great recruiters and developers as assistant coaches and not guys like asking who are you???

Your basing your decision off of wins or losses which you can't or shouldn't. I never said they wouldn't hire a non-caucasion I just feel like the spot they put MJ in to take over the team mid season and what he had to endure wasn't his fault. Not his coaches or staff. No coach on Nebraska could have done it any better then him that's why Nebraska asked him to take over. All I'm saying is you can't judge him or hold him at fault for SF failures. That's why you give him the interview. You never know how he could turn this program around if you don't give him the opportunity to try to find out. I can sit here and say I wanted a big name hire bc I didn't feel like MJ was ready to be a coach but I would have still wanted to give him that interview bc of what he had to work with. Feel like Nebraska owned him at least that much.

Even if the AD so called knew who he wanted to hire or not MJ earned that right to be interviewed and you wonder why there is a Rooney Rule in the NFL and that still hasn't helped the problem.

To me reading this it sounds like there is some animosity there. Can be looking to deep into it but I say that if he feels he got so called "hosed" from the whole ordeal of not being fairly treated in the coaching search. If he wasn't giving the opportunity to interview for the head coach job with what he had to endure this season shame on Nebraska for that. Don't know if he ever did or not but last time I heard he hadn't interview for it smh. I can understand why bc TA might have already had his guy or was basing it off if MJ could turn the ship around but he should still be interviewed give him that right.

Based off of what watching him coach in the NFL or his teams at Temple or Baylor? Are you basing it off that he doesn't necessarily recruit to the highest of levels for your standard? What if he comes here and in 2 years he has us contending or better or maybe next year?

Its not necessarily true on Iowa State or Baylor. You could say the same thing about TCU. Campbell isnt going to end up anywhere real soon except for his house if he doesn't turn Iowa State into a winnable program. They don't expect for you to win championships there but they also dont expect you to be dead last in the conference either. Matt Campbell status as a coach has went way down with the losses that have piled up and just bc Rhule lost in the NFL that doesn't mean his best days professionally are behind him. College and Pros are totally different.

Wow I can understand why you feel that way but apparently your not paying attention to facts or you are simple ignoring them. Just bc he is 47-43 as a coach it may not seem impressive but what he did at those programs speaks volumes. Nebraska would pay to play in the Sugar Bowl shoot let alone play in a bowl game. But I would say his name is more recognizable then Riley or Callahan. You do whats best for you as long as we dont hire a Matt Campbell I'm good.

We did pull them but they never lasted here. The high star recruits that came never panned out in the first place. That to me is or was part of the problem that SF had. Not only developing but also retaining those kids to develop them. I think he banked on the fact those kids would get developed and win for him and when that didn't happen they left and put him in a tough spot. But I do agree with you that we can get kids just have to be able to use them to help the team win.

He couldn't be better bc the o-line was never better. Grant had to make runs for himself bc their wasn't many holes that they opened and that's why he never played much bc he isnt quick enough to make a run on his own. Wish him luck to ever he goes.

True but Nebraska as a whole is on a bigger platform then Baylor or Temple. If kids didn't know him well enough from the time he spent at those 2 schools they do now. Even if he was unsuccessful in the NFL he can certainly use that to his advantage when he is talking to kids about coming here. From watching him in interviews he comes across as a people person that can relate to anyone. We have had some coaches that could relate to kids and others not so much. Like he said it's all about relationships.

I could too but he might jump at the opportunity to coach at a power 5 school to show the nation he can go anywhere and still be a great coach.

I picked TO in my head bc I just want to go back to the glory days. Honestly I picked Urban Meyer even though it may be unrealistic I dream for the stars!!!

Yeah exactly. I know Husker Fans want to care for the basketball team, but it's been so hard to root for them. Hopefully we are preparing to cut our losses here as well and find a coach that can win.
