I don't think Frost ever truly committed to winning here. The guy USED TO BE a great coach. I believe his personal commitment to excellence fluctuated between 50%-80% while here.
Scott had the potential - the abilities, to be successful here. But for some reason (fear of failure, fear of success, imposter's syndrome -- a mix of these?) he never committed - he didn't follow through.
Iowa’s best offensive player is out. If Iowa wins this game, they play in the BIG Championship and although they’ll be huge underdogs, at least they’d get their shot.
If this team of ours can’t get up for this game and bring their best selves on Friday, it will be very disappointing. This is a tremendous opportunity to play spoiler against a beatable team that has owned our asses for seven straight years.
If we get Fickell, I’m going to switch to Huskers volleyball in the fall.
If Trev went after Fickell, I would imagine the lower relative salary requirement would have been a big factor, which would show us how uncommitted the suits are to returning this program to top-notch status.
That's a lot of what-if's and assumptions you've offered - I mean, if he's gets the support he needs here, the money he wants, and things slowly start trending the right way - maybe he stays. Urban is my #1 pick anyway, but yes, Kiffin is #2.
So at present, we're OWNED by Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State - with Michigan and Minnesota getting close to joining that list. My goodness that's depressing.
I don't think we score a TD on Saturday, TBH. Maybe a field goal or two, but that's it. I had free tickets offered to me (on the 35), but it's not worth the drive IMHO.
