  1. That's a good question. It's kind of like the end of the 05 season, and last years. After the 2005 season, a season that ended with 3 straight wins, and the final against Michigan, a season in which we finished 8-4, most of the Husker fans put on their red glasses and started making bold predictions; "we'll beat SC", "we'll win the Big XII", etc. I was one of them. I thought we would roll, and only lose to one team, I didn't know who, because I thought we would win against SC and UT. But most of us were excited for what was to come. Well once the 2006 season finished, it ended with a loss against a very good Auburn team. Well look at the mood on the board this off season. Not as much hope. More predicting losses. Could that be that we learned we shouldn't be so high on the Huskers? Or is it that the last thing we remembered was a loss against Auburn? I am still feeling that loss, and it's August tomorrow. So maybe not getting to the BCS, if only to avoid a loss to end the season would be good for the team and the fans. Just my couple of cents. GBR
  2. No, I'm pretty sure it's around noon sometimes. That doesn't mean don't be there at 8 I'll be there, most likely around 9 to 9:30, waiting with my poster. Every year since 02, my dad, bro, and me have gotten the whole team with a system we use to do it, and I'm hoping for it to continue this year! GBR
  3. Callahan is a good coach, and is learning, but there is no reason to put down Carrol. I mean sure he has won 2 titles, and almost a 3rd, and has everyone coming to his school, but he's not that good On this topic however, ESPN and SI predicted this last year, so it will be interesting to see if it develops this way. Personally I think we'll be better than this bowl, and I don't think Miami will be good enough for it. I think we get a BCS Bowl.
  4. We did, that's why he got fired.
  5. Yeah I remember when that happened. Even though it sucked that they did that, I'm happy to be a fan of the Huskers. I don't know many places that during a tornado warning would STILL show the game At least we would die watching the Big Red
  6. For this season to be a success, there can't be blowouts against the Big Red at all. No games where the D falls apart (OSU last year). We must be in every game. I think like someone said, we need to win either against SC, UT, or the Big XII title game to be a success, however if we beat UT or SC, and then somehow don't make the Big XII title game, that would be a huge letdown. We must win the North this year for it to be good. I might have my expectations too high, but even though this schedule is tough this season, I see us doing very well. We are under the radar in a lot of the media's minds. Could that be used as motivation? Absolutely. We are out for revenge with OSU, and we need to show that the KU loss two years ago in their house won't happen again. I think this team has a lot to prove, and I think they will do just that. GBR
  7. He is not committed anymore according to rivals. Nebraska is still at the top of his list, and is followed by ND and UM. Damn! it would be better for everyone if he would just commit and be done with it. why dilly-ass around with this? Or he should have just not committed in the first place. If he's not 100%, then wait.
  8. He is not committed anymore according to rivals. Nebraska is still at the top of his list, and is followed by ND and UM.
  9. Wow seriously? I think its awesome! The climax is when they run out on the field and the crowd goes crazy! Hopefully this years will have less talking, and more highlights, as previous years did!
  10. I like seeing the players jumping up and going crazy. It gets me even more excited as well. They look like they just wanna get out there, and win the game imo. GBR
  11. Another thing to remember is that we also tore them down two years prior against sCUm as well. It was a Halloween game, and after a 52-7 beatdown of them, why not tear them down That's two times in 3 seasons.
  12. i disagree, CSU has been better then ISU in the past, just that it plays in the WAC or what ever it is called now. I think the reason that they would want sCUm in the BIG 10 would be the TV market of Denver and the recruiting base of Colorado. as you can see there are some pretty good players coming out of colorado. i think that Missouri would be a better fit for them, and they mentioned Syracuse, Pitt, and Rutgers also I think Rutgers would be a good take for them. College football is not too big in NYC, but Rutgers is adding interest there, and I think the Big 10 would be interested in that. Plus a great market for recruits. Someone else said Syracuse, but I think Rutgers would be the better take because they have a team and coach on the rise. And takins ISU wouldn't be smart for them imo. It's not like they're good. They would just be a doormat for UM, OSU, and any other team there
  13. we beat SC? Storm the field? Take down the goal posts? I know I lot of people will say, "We're Nebraska, we don't do that." But think about this. In 1994 we would go on to win TO's first nc. Well earlier in the season, we went up against a sCUm team that was 2nd in the nation in the rankings. We beat them, and the posts came down. We were about to embark on the greatest run in college football history, and we tore them down. Why couldn't we do the same this year? It's not like we have been in the national hunt lately, and that Husker team had just played for the title the previous year. I think the posts will come down if we win, and Lincoln will be insane that night. GBR
  14. Well we could add another one saying "Countdown to the 283rd consecutive sellout"
  15. The difference between the 90's situation, and the one we have now is that whether is was Brook or Tommie starting, we would win the national title. With this situation, can you honestly say that Ganz would outperform Keller against a team like SC? I know that Keller has never taken a snap here, but he has gone up against Pac 10 competition and LSU, and it's not like it was at the end of the game, when he could do whatever he wanted. He was STARTING those games. And he almost led them to the win over LSU. I have seen that game 2 or 3 times on ESPN Classic, and his play was just amazing in that game. Would Ganz have played that well? In my opinion no. I like the guy. I love the guts he has. I love that he doesn't give a sh!t about what any of us are saying on here right now, and he still goes out and works his ass off to be the starter of the 2008 Huskers. I just don't think that he provides the same kind of on-field ability that Keller will bring when he comes out. Should BC name the starter now? As much as I would like him to, so Keller could get the snaps and be prepared for the season, I say no. Why? I don't want this team to be split because Keller was named the starter in July before camp started. There would be a lot of players who would side with Ganz because he is well liked and has been here for a long time. There would be the others who would side with Keller because he is the better player in their opinion. As long as Callahan names the starter when he says he will, which is 2 or 3 weeks into fall camp, I think he will be fine. I just don't want this to drag out til the week of the Nevada game, and we still are hearing the same stuff we have been since spring ball started in March. GBR
  16. Actually it will probly be Gabert vs Lee.....unfortunately Witt may be S.O.L. and the odd man out at the QB position. Witt is Sharp...very smart and a quick thinker...has freaky accuracy and quick release. probably knows the offense better than Keller and Ganz, he is very bright. ok your getting ahead of yourself ganz has been here nearly 4 years I'm doubting Witt, who has been here since spring, knows close to the amount that ganz does I agree he can't know as much as they know I don't think it's even mentally possible because they have a lot more time in the system. ur right......he probably doesnt know AS much but he is VERT smart! Oh I can agree with that statement I mean he DID pick NU!!!! I think the QB in the near future is going to outstanding and the one that emerges will be a QB that no one has ever seen at NU. I soooo agree with this statement, look at Taylor, he was functional at best. imagine someone who has tremendous talent and that O-line of the future..........records will be shatterd. Hopefully he can convince Trevor Robinson to commit to the team again, so he can have that great line in front of him. GBR
  17. I think he'll miss the Nevada game, and not start against Wake, but play a little. Then either start, or play most of USC, and be starting by Ball State.
  18. I'm going to be a student this year, and I can tell everyone that I will be crazy at every game. I don't care what I have to do to help the team, but I will do anything. I can't wait! But to the top of this subject, I really hope that our students don't act like Maryland or other schools. They are just bush, though they do get into the games. There is plenty of other ways to get into the games besides that imo.
  19. We win in a close game imo. The crowd keeps us into it and we pull it out in the end
  20. Name your 4 losses. Unlike last year, we won't lose games that should be won, such as OSU, and I think we'll close out games better, unlike the UT and Auburn games.
  21. The KSUcks/Husker game hasn't even been on regular tv in like 4 years, so I don't know how this "rivalry" could win this thing on rivals. The only reason people nationally are talking about it is becuase they got Freeman.
  22. Texas had much better talent than us last year, and we should have pulled out the win, and the main reason was the crowd. I remember listening to the radio, and Jim Rose said it was as loud as the sCUm games in the 90s, and even the OU game in 78. The UT game was at 11 in the morning. The SC game kicks off at 7. Husker fans have been anticipating this one since it was put on the schedule however many years ago, and we know that if we do show up loud and into the whole game, we can win. We lost 28-10 in their house last year, a team that had Dwayne Jarret and Steve Smith on the outside. This time, while with plenty of blue chippers at the postition is young, as is playing a Husker secondary that is much better that last years with new players such as Asante and Murillo. These guys could be game breakers making plays out there. And while he did throw 5 picks in the last game against SC, don't say because of that game that Keller won't show up and play great. This is the game he came here for. USC, under the lights, national tv, and a chance to prove that the Huskers are back. Plus, this game will help his draft stock, and that is motivation as well. So, the Huskers can win, but of course with some turnovers early it could be over. But this is OUR house, and it's a game we have been waiting for for a long time. Stranger things have happened before in college football. That said, I can't wait for this game. Should be a good one imo. I think we'll come out on top in the end.
  23. I don't really think so. The Steelers had been running "trick" plays ever since Cowher was their coach, and they always get it done. Now he's gone, so I wonder if they still will. But it seemed they ran something every game, and it seemed to work, so I think it will for us, as long as Callahan keeps them fresh.
  24. How cool would it be to see us in the Big House every year? Or in the Horseshoe? And we would have much better tv coverage
