ATTENTION: HARRISON BECK Great post. I'm so sick of people doing this crap where they teach their kids a fallacy of real life. Example: My niece is 10 and played softball this summer. During the "regular season" no score was kept and everyone was allowed to bat unless 3 outs were made. At the end of the season they had a tournament where they kept score and gave out trophies to the 1st and 2nd place teams. Sure the girls on the 2nd place team were sad they lost, but I bet that they will practice harder next year so that maybe they will be the ones with the 1st place trophy.

I liked his game film. Kid's got an arm. The ball looks like a missle with laces coming out of his arm.

Dude I saw video on this kid. Wow!! He can put the ball on a spot long or short, crossing routes, fades, you name it. He's not afraid to stand in there and take a hit. When he scrambles he takes on defenders for extra yardage. I don't know wtf this guy was talking about.

I think in Stewart Mandel's latest mailbag he said something about this. He said that Pete Carroll appealed Jarrett's suspension right away and that Stoops could have done the same thing, but STOOPS chose to kick Bonehead off the team rather than have the NCAA look into it.

Agreed. ND will lose at least 2-3 games for sure. I don't care how many knockouts Zbikowski has, one "tough guy" does not make up the whole D.

Right on. I think the general consensus is that you must have both to some extent. You can't have a Swiss cheese D and the best O in the country and expect to win a NC. Likewise you can't shut down your opponent completely, but not move the ball. The best combination, to me, is a slightly above average D and a pretty darn good O (for the catch-up purposes).

The funny thing is, my school's team sucks, but they almost beat Grinnell. They only lost by 13 or something. Kinda blew my mind.

Has anyone ever seen Grinnell play??

The rule is pretty bogus. If they are going to enforce this efficiently, they will need to have people on every sideline to determine exactly how much time is left when the ball goes out of bounds or through the endzone.

That is good to hear. As long as it's not the "Running Game" that Grinnell uses... That just gets old....
