Also, for anyone with ESPN Insider, there is a preview of Nebraska posted today plus a wrap-up of Ivan Maisel's chat about the Big 12 media day/season preview. Unfortunately, Insider costs money, money that I am not willing to spend, otherwise I would just copy it all and post it here for everyone to read. FoxSports will have their preview of the Big Red Machine on August 15th, since I'm on the subject.

SportsIllustrated's Stewart Mandel seems to think Iowa will make the NC. IMO it's just another setup for Iowa to fail and hence be another overrated teamt that does not meet expectations. LINK Comments??

I agree. I don't think the playbooks have evolved all that much. It seems like they just made up new formations with the same plays coming from each one. At least NU's playbooks seems to be this way. It also seems that the trick plays are almost impossible to pull off against good opponents. Jumping the snap is cool, plus the new impact cameras are sweet as are some of the new animations (ZT isn't happy when somebody drops a pass). I was happy that the new video screen is in the current-gen version, plus one of the other new screens at the south end is in there too.

Haha... Good point though. I agree that Texass's sched has set them up for a few "upsets." I hope they stay undefeated until we play them, so we can break their streak!

I'm a credit analyst at a local bank. Not very exciting but better pay than anything I could get this summer. Good thing is we don't have anything to do for tomorrow, so I sorta have a 3 day weekend. I work at my uncle's restaurant on the weekends and I have a 9 hour shift on Saturday.

I'm glad I looked at this thread. Definitely making this long work day go by soo much faster.

Even if they do find out that this negative recruiting is true, is there anything that can/should be done about it? Would ND receive some sort of sanction or anything? Also, I thought I remembered reading something about Weis helping current players (Quinn, etc.) pick agents for the NFL and the possibility of ND/Weis being punished. Has anyone else heard this? (it was early early in the summer)

I don't know if anyone else had this happen, but when I was playing Nicholls, Brad Nessler kept calling them Air Force, Falcons, and the PA announcer kept calling them the Spiders. This was for the PS2 version.

Yah... Other than the two Trojans, I would say we have a pretty good variety of opponents' mascots - Puppies, Kitties, Upside-down Llamas, Weather, Cowboys, Colonels, Hamburger Meat, Tweety Birds, and the ATM's (at least that's what their helmets say).

The more I think about the Iowa State game, the more I wonder if they are sponsored/funded by McDonald's. Those ketchup and mustard uniforms make me hungry for a Big Mac.

I hope there was more to do in Tipton than in Mt. Vernon. I'm from a small town too, but MV gets a little ridiculous at times. Plus there is a lack of Husker fans. My friends always try to gang up on me on game days, especially if we happen to lose. They're all Hawkeye fans, so I just remind them how Iowa always seems to choke and is almost annually well overrated.
