  1. It is true though, that the August game was against OSU, not OU, right?
  2. Wait, Erickson already left?
  3. Of late, I'd say CU is our fiercest rival, with that blowout loss and all those close games.
  4. At CB, Thenarse would still most likely be behind a couple of guys. Let's hope Andre Jones lives up to his 5* billing.
  5. OHkuhfer? Maybe that's just lazy and not really correct :-P
  6. Critical reading/math. Looks good, though.
  7. It was windy, and boy was it clutch.
  8. The atmosphere is one thing. But in the end, go to the place that will be the best for you. Loving Husker football doesn't mean UNL is right for you. Depends also on the other places you're looking at. In the end, academics should supersede sports loyalties.
  9. A 6-4 corner would be nice I'm guessing he wants to play offense...still, looks good!
  10. USC was our 2nd or 3rd game. I think it would have been Bowman and Grixby instead of Grixby and Jones. Ultimately, a good secondary will get us far this year. Whic guys become the pieces in that defensive machine is less important. If our guys can step up, we'll do well - if they can't, we'll suffer. Our secondary has been torched over and over for years, even with NFL players like Fabian Washington and the Bullocks brothers manning the defensive backfield. Good teams work with what they have and get W's out of that.
  11. OU already has 2 RBs in their class, both ranked top 50 or top 100 I believe. And USC already has a stable of RBs from last year. I don't get it? What's so attractive about those schools at the moment? *edit* - OU has top TOP TWENTY RB's for the class of '08...I don't see why McGuffie would be interested...
  12. I might have read something different than you but I read that the guy who coached both andre jones and bowman said that Jones was farther along coming out of Juco but Bowman had better potential him running a 4.3 and being 6' 2" and all like I said maybe we read something different and I could be wrong too I believe that was the guy who coached Bowman and Murillo...I don't know though.
  13. Grixby has his size limitations, but I *believe* he is solid on technique and experience. I'm not as low on him as many of you are. IF Murillo can develop the defensive awareness that will propel him above Grixby on the depth chart, then good for him and the secondary. I'd like it better if Bowman were healthy, but that's a tough injury he's got and I would not count on him coming back, or coming back 100%. Even if he does, it's been a long time since he's been out on the field running with the receivers. Besides, I'd like to believe this Husker team is too tough to let a few individual losses affect their season. A lot of it is just about guys stepping up, keeping the team together, staying focused. We - and other teams - have suffered bigger losses and just pulled through the end, whether it meant QB-turned-Flankers returning to the QB position, or 3rd string QBs stepping into the lineup and winning games.
  14. If he's a better overall prospect than Arthur Brown, that is really saying A LOT. But why Oklahoma? Don't they have two RBs in the freaking top 50 for next year's class?
  15. Here's one that really drew my eye: Now THAT's class.
  16. LOL, I scratched my head for a bit asking myself, "Who is this Larry Arthur?" Then I scrolled up.
  17. Yeah...that's what I meant. I hope he makes it...and once he does, I hope he talks to Patrick Witt once in a while
  18. Just a small correction, Stanford's not ivy league....stanford = tree.
  19. Corrected for accuracy... Eventually we will be the most grammer correct board out there. Not anymore...
  20. When you first said this I agreed. But upon reflection, I disagree. Rivalry means playing the other guy for who he is and not what for he has done. UCLA's upset of us this year would never have happened if it was based on "taking care of business". Our upsets of them in the past would not have happened if it was based on "taking care of business" Here locally in b-ball the Duke-Carolina rivalry wouldn't be what it is if it was based on "taking care of business". No. Rivalry means pinning your ears back and going after that other guy at all costs. Anything less is some level of championship game, not rivalry. I liked the rivalries of the old Big-8, the old Pac-8, the old SWC, and the old ACC (R.I.P) Well said! We should be meeting OU every year, through our respective ups and downs...because that's what a rivalry is about. Someone on this board proposed that maybe our Big 12 schedules should include one opposite division school which we play every year. I think this is a great idea.
  21. They ought to just rename the Big Ten... It's not like we're still the Big Eight. But anyway, I do rather like playing some of these teams year-in, year-out. KSU, CU, all pretty intense rivalries, and OU and Texas in the conference as well. If we move suddenly to another conference, it'll be playing with a bunch of teams we have very little history with. Call me old-fashioned, but it'd take a while to get used to that.
  22. I don't get it. Congdon was a freshman all-American, wasn't he? In his career, he was something like 4/5 between 40-49. So I mean, what did he have to complain about "playing time"??
