  1. 1s vs. 1s would be a good idea for our offense now.
  2. Yeah, it was good to see Larry lighting guys up. Crick and Suh were awesome. Suh's roughing call was total homer BS ref'ing.
  3. Beating OU and KSU doesn't look real good now. KSU, as much as I hate to say it, look like they'll win the North. We're not out of the North, but KU and CU are no gimmes either with our offense. Of course, beating OU and/or KSU are possible, but not real likely. Let's hope we don't limp into some pre-Christmas bowl with a long name and obscure sponsor.
  4. The playcalling has no tempo or ingenuity - blame Watson for that. Where have all the pancakes gone? Our backs can't get yards when our OL is on the ground more often than defenders - that's on Cotton. One good thing about the O-line yesterday was fewer holding and false start penalties. Our receivers don't scare anybody. I was looking at Texas highlights, and thinking, "We need talent like that at WR." I don't know who to blame for that.
  5. It was a joke... and pretty good one, too. You won. Congrats... get over it.
  6. I agree completely. We need heavy sets - even get the TEs involved in carrying the ball. We don't have any receivers that consistently get separation or that scare opposing defenses. Play action might help that. The O-line HAS to improve, even if it means adding another TE. We'd have less defenders stripping balls from our backs if there more defenders on the ground. Oh, and how about the coaches implement a policy of "You fumble or drop, you sit and let the guy under you try and make a play." I don't think the mindset to finish is there. We've gained yards, but averaged 8.5 points over TWO home games.
  7. He HAS to do them - it's part of the job because the only bad press is no press. "Next Question..." should be on a t-shirt.
  8. Lee's passes in the first 3 qtrs were frequently too high - much like at VT. At VT, he said he was "too jacked up" and needed to calm down. I think that's the case here. With time, he should get this under control. I think the players REALLY wanted this game.
  9. Didja notice the FAU Media Guide lists Spitale as 12 years old??? (birthyear is listed as 1997) Wow... 6'8", 330 and only 12... in college, too!
  10. Looking for a prediction contest from the mods.
  11. I think we get the turnover margin going back in the right direction. Will someone have a Bullocks-like performance with 10 picks over the season...? Tough to say right now, but it seems evident the defense at least has its feet under them now, which is a huge jump from last year. Helu's health should be somewhat of a concern, but equally or more so - will clear #2 and #3 WRs emerge and will we have a legitimate vertical threat? If those develop, we'll get the chemistry down and maybe Helu doesn't carry such a heavy load. If not, we'll need our depth at RB and utilize TEs more often. From all reports and what I've heard Lee say, he seems to have a clear head and should exhibit composure. Hopefully he won't have to tuck it and run very often. My concern is: Do our DBs take the next step and do we get consistent pressure from the DL, other than Suh.
  12. That attitude has been noticeably absent for awhile. Good to hear things like that from the players again. Here's hoping Brooks puts it together this year and realizes his potential.
  13. But we also DON'T know exactly what Q did - and that may be by design. Not all infractions may be qualified as public information: i.e: failed drug tests (medical privacy), selling game tickets (violation of NCAA regs), etc. , and it may behoove the university to not disclose anything it doesn't have to. You can bet that each player is more than likely going to get a fair shake under Oz/Bo.
  14. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised by a WR or two. Hopefully Brooks realizes his potential and one or more of Kinnie/Cooper/Gilleylen become regular contributors. I'm expecting big things from S. Fischer at LB, too. ...And getting a solid #2 and #3 RB in place would be nice.
  15. What I got from the article is that Shatel wants an explanation of the dismissal. "Breaking team rules" is pretty vague. What rule in particular was violated? However, if it's something like a failed drug test - whether PED's or recreationals - the university may be dealing with medical privacy issues of the player in question. Wasn't there a high-profile D-lineman in about '92 that Oz booted for recreational drugs, told the media it was "violation of our drug policy," and then the player turned around and sued the university for violation of privacy?
  16. A win at VT - a ranked team on the road - would be a turning point. Today, I give us a 50-50 shot of winning there. If we win decisively there (by 17 or more), we'll be close to being in the top 10. That said, the momentum would have to be carried through into Big XII play. Have to beat MU and then at least be competitive with OU in Lincoln. Both are entirely do-able. If we do beat OU, I'd want Texas in the CC game. Of course, we can't snooze and must TCOB (all you Elvis fans will get that) vs. Baylor, KU, etc.
