  1. Dodger dogs are good man. But my personal choice (and favorite), is a little ol' family place on Q street - Frank Stoysich Meats.
  2. I kind of agree. I like them both, totally appreciate their efforts and all they put into the team. I have to believe you need a mobile, quick footed QB in this system. Prior to the snap, he needs to know what to do if the pocket breaks down, and that's where Zach & Sam struggled. One would get sacked, the other checked down way to soon. The offensive scheme limited their full potential, unfortunately. This particular WCO would benefit a QB after two, three years of starting. And in the NFL, you're guy is running it for 5-8 years. College QB is 1-2 years, graduate, then start all over with new guy. Not the best way to build a successful offense IMO.
  3. He was a 165 pound fullback. But as for the tirades, I havent heard of them before.
  4. Is Ganz going to play defense? Return punts? Kick field goals? Call the plays? I want him to play well and lead the team to victory, or inspire them, but it's still a team effort. Lot of question marks still to be addressed. And one person can only do so much. Should be exciting to see.
  5. I thought the entire read was about Nebraska, and rarely said anything about KU. Arent they the ones that are undefeated? Amazing. Just goes to show, that even an undefeated team cannot take away our spotlight. Good or bad. GBR!
  6. The first thing that comes to mind is... getting my eyes adjusted to that ugly azz field. As for the game, I think KU will jump on the Huskers early and build a decent lead (13-17 pts) and hold it throughout the game while the Huskers fight back. I think if they get a chance to pour it on, they wont even hesitate or think twice. The Husker defense showed some good things against Texas, but still have not proven they can stop anyone yet. Bend and break. Face it, KU is 8-0. They are beating the teams they are suppose to. And they are winning the games that people question if they are for real or not. Instead of their players wondering, hoping, or thinking how they might play, they are doing what is needed to win. And they've done it each game. So the confidence obviously builds. I am courious to see Ganz move around the pocket and move the chains. But lack of game time experience has to be there. I can see a few turnovers happen, a tipped pass here at the line, or a fumble from not securing the ball. Has anyone hit him hard yet? Has he responded after someone gave him a snot bubble? You know, a welcome to the Big 12 hit? If he runs, it will happen. Or blindsided sack. So I will be patient with him. How will he respond after three straight three-and-outs? Or pick? I hope he does great, as well as the entire team, and NU wins. It's definately an unknown right now, and that's intriguing. My prediction in the contest was NU 33-30. But that's what I want, not what I think.
  7. Stick around lonestar... things have been pretty crazy lately, it's like uncharted waters. There are lots of good people here, especially ETR. And you are every part of what makes this family here "good people", as are all members with good Husker intentions (including jokes). If you leave, well okay you have your intentions. Just something to consider. Because we all have our bad days and sometimes (myself included), it's easier to just take it out on the keyboard.
  8. I've read some of the interviews out there, looks something like this: Octo / Culbert - WILL Dillar / McKeon - MIKE Wortman / Washington - SAM
  9. WOW can't believe I forgot Niles Paul...and I really wanted to list Chris Brooks.....but I didn't know if he would qualify since he has been here for a while Yep. It's easy to forget a lot of these guys. The only time you see them is handing out cups of gatorade. Unfortunately.
  10. Niles Paul, Major Culbert and Chris Brooks. But yah, I totally agree with you. Getting the frosh and sophs some meaningful series will benefit them for the long run with experience and confidence. Heck, maybe one or a few of these guys will turn into playmakers. It just doesnt happen though when they are sitting on their helmets on the sidelines. I am excited to see the remaining games and what happens.
  11. What I liked about Pavelka that I dont hear often from Rose, is the constant score and time on the clock. These days, you listen an entire segment and rarely get the score until commercial. Which if you join late, it's the thing you are dieing to find out. I do like the enthusiasm Rose brings. If you have Sirius, switch over and listen how non-emotional (did I make up a word?) so many of the other games are. A&M broadcast is the worst. They kept calling the Huskers by the position "the running back, the linebacker" instead of the actually person b/c they didnt research or prep enough. And Rose will tell you the other team's player that make the play, have the ball, etc. I dont care for the "he's at the 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. and finally down at one, no... touchdown" calls. Who was the guy who said after each Husker score "Touchdown! Touchdown! Touchdown!" Was that Pavelka or Swain?
  12. I cant answer this thread. I tried. But just cant. I want the Huskers to win 'em all.
  13. We are going to find out this Saturday, and the remainder of the season. Got to believe he is on an emotional high. Starting QB for the Big Red. It wont be easy, KU, KState, CU. Just remember he hasnt played meaningful minutes in awhile. He hasnt had a snot-bubble yet, or responding after an INT or fumble. So let's keep this in mind and show some support and patience. I'm ready for Saturday!
  14. Interesting indeed. Lucky mentioned that they scrapped the first 15 plays of the game b/c the running game was doing so well. That was a great adjustment.
  15. These are petty hilarious, but in my mind, nothing will beat the USC lookalike thread.. If you are ever in need of a good laugh, check it out.
  16. Sure, Ryan Leaf will be QB coach & Tony Mandarich will handle the O-line. Kidding...
  17. I like to think mobile QBs have an advantage. Just by having pocket awareness and being able to slip or move around to buy an extra second or two helps avoid the sack and find recievers. I prefer mobile QBs that move around to throw, and occasionally scramble for positive yards, as appose to running QBs that take off right away when the pressure is on. This offense does not need a strong arm. The passes are usually 10 - 15 yard "high percentage" throws from the pocket. I'm looking forward to see what happens. Especially after Ganz gets knocked down hard, sacked, dealing with blitzes, and so on. The green jersey will be off. I hope he plays well. We'll find out this week. And that's exciting. I like his confidence. Third year in the system and wanting this opportunity. He knows the offense. All he has to do is manage it, and move the chains.
  18. Could I get you more Kool-Aid while I'm up? (It was invented in Nebraska, you know...) Sure. Bring a pitcher.
  19. What blowouts? Nevada? He got in last year in at least two games that I can remember. I think he was thinking of us getting blown out, like the MU game, Texas A&M, Okie St. to just name a few. Yes, and yes. Have no idea why he never got a series during those games.
