  1. not sure where you got that from... Yes...you are. Man is an imperfect being serving a perfect God. God created man with a will. We are not mindless beings just going from point to point in Gods plan. I don't want to get too deep theologically here, but the bottom line is that man is more than capable at acting outside of Gods will. happens everyday. I also never said that any of the above examples were Gods will. I simply stated that you saw them as a contradiction, and they are not. P.S. I know this was to Knapplc...but I do believe in the gifts of the spirit.
  2. your definition of contradiction is not the same as mine (here we go again!)...to me a contradiction is if a=b, and b=c, then a contradiction would be 'a does not equal c'. I don't see a contradiction in any of the examples you give. How do YOU know that God wasn't asking your pastor friend to start a ministry there? What is YOUR definition of a failed ministry? Again, this conversation goes back to the beginning. Faith. Experience. and the bible (again, the Christian one). Like I said in the beginning. Experience. How is misinterpreting God any different than misinterpreting anyone? I can tell you that when I first got married, I misinterpreted many things. But, as time went on, I got better at knowing what she was saying (for example...just because she says that 'we need milk' doesn't mean that offering to drop her off at the grocery store is what she wants to hear!). I do believe that faith is important...but like almost anything in life that is an action, the more you do it, the better you get at it.
  3. Well, first, I decide if it's something that I want to hear...if it is, it must be God...ok, just kidding... But seriously, I'm not sure that there is a good 'one answer' to that question. All I can say is that the Bible says that 'His sheep know His voice'. Have I ever mis-interpreted his voice? Probably. just being honest.
  4. Do you mean do I hear an audible voice? no. Do you mean does He communicate? Yes.
  5. What you are refering to (IMHO) is blind faith. But I would argue that: does not describe my relationship with the God of Abraham (I am trying to be specific, so you know which God I am referring to). I speak with God. I interact with God. I see the hand of God in my daily life. I don't have blind faith. But I do have faith that my God will provide all my needs. Why? Lots of reasons, but for this conversation, we'll just say that it is because I have seen it many times before. mm0
  6. yep...biggest one I have felt since moving to SoCal in 2003. mm0
  7. I've read this a couple times, and I don't see what one has to do with the other. In the Washington case, it was a mandate to have a firearm. No where does it say you have to purchase it. There were many ways to get firearms back then. Also, if you did have to purchase it, it would be a one time purchase, not recurring.
  8. this is the reply I got from my dad...basically the same: I found another site www.handgunlaw.us check it out. According to the map Nebraska does not honor Georgia ccw permits. It also has a FAQ and who to contact. I would contact the Attorney General of the Secretary of State for the latest information. The Nebraska permit is issued by the Nebraska State Patrol. Sorry I can't be of more help. I took the class a couple of years ago and a bunch of information has changed since then. I know that there has to be class time on laws and there has to be live fire as part of the class. Robert may know more current than I do since he travels quite a bit yet. He is leaving for Florida early tomorrow morning. I will continue to look for good information for you. mm0
  9. I'll ask my dad. he has a conceal carry in NE, so he might know.
  10. The power of God to heal is amazing. My daughter had pneumonia when she was 3. When she was at the doctors office, it was iffy whether he was going to send her to the hospital. By the time we saw the Dr at the emergency room 2 hours later, she was so bad off that they admitted her immediately to the NIC. My wife and I, and some of our friends started praying. By the time the Dr. made his evening visit, he was trying to figure out why she was in NIC...then he looked at her chart, and couldn't believe how much she had improved over just a few hours. All that to say, I will be (and have been) praying. mm0
  11. I was there...it was my 9th birthday. Slept through most of it, and our family was lucky, just lost a tree...but I remember my mom crying the next day after driving around town...that has always stuck with me for some reason.
  12. Got the Nexus a few weeks ago...had a G1 before that. If you haven't checked out youmail...check it out. it's an alternative to t-mobile voice mail...by default it will greet your callers by name (IE: 'Hi Dave, Steve isn't available right now.......'), or you can assign a specific msg to a contact...I have a friend who loves the simpsons, so his is a Homer Simpson greeting. Anyways, it's pretty cool. I also use timeriffic, and dilbertdroid...can't live without my Dilbert. Later! mm0
  13. we felt it (just barely) here in Laguna Niguel...roughly 60 miles north of San Diego.
  14. lets hope that the one mistake actually helped his future. hope it got him on the right track. mm0
  15. Ummmmm....doesn't the game start at 1PM? The OP said 6PM???? Just don't want you to miss it!
  16. real quick...the watch site says: OC Tavern 2369 South El Camino Real San Clemente, CA 92673 (949) 542-8877 it should be: OC Tavern 2369 South El Camino Real San Clemente, CA 92673 (949) 542-8877 mm0
  17. OC Tavern 2369 South El Camino Real San Clemente, CA 92673 949 542-8877 Pretty busy, but usually at least standing room. get there early! It's a sports bar. $5 cover, children under 15 free. All proceeds go to support the CFN Scholarship program. mm0
  18. You probably didn't finalize the discs...look through the manual of the dvd recorder, or the on screen menu's to find the option...finalizing should make them playable on any newish (7-8 year old) DVD player... OK...back to Husker football...
  19. QUICK.........Someone start tracking his plane and camping out at the airport! I just sent him my resume, hoping to become his salt water aquarium guy. Don't worry, I will keep all you guys informed of all the insider info I find out.
  20. Let's hope that it really is business as usual for the buffs...that would almost GUARANTEE a victory!!!
  21. OK, how about this then...I haven't picked up a newspaper in 5 years, and I didn't read it on here (or anywhere else)...it was one of those things that pissed me off about Callahan, so yeah, I did 'take it from my memory'...it seems that my biggest crime is not searching the forums before posting...so sorry.
  22. That is sad. No. What is sad is to read this fact in the newspaper, then act like you are taking it from your memory. umm....I seriously doubt that the Orange County Register had any articles regarding Nebraska football lately...
  23. Am I wrong, or is the Baylor game the first game that we have come back after a half-time deficit since Frank Solich was coach? mm0
  24. I remember a game that I went to at Arrowhead. We played OSU. I ran into some OSU fans before the game, and they made the statement 'The way you guys are playing, I hope you don't kill us too bad'. As I recall, we did win the game, but only by stopping them on the last play of the game, and I think they were on the 2 yard line... point being, season history only matters to our discussions BEFORE the game (which are great, I love them)...the only thing that truly matters though is how the game is played on game day. my 2 cents worth... mm0
  25. It was a fairly small room, but I would guess that it was over 100. Also, there are a variety of places in OC that you can go, so it's not the only one around...
