  1. Bernstein had to look at our kick returns today, and realize he could make an immediate impact.
  2. You know,Lucky has fumbled in the past, so why the hell was he in the game on the halfback pass.... and Zac had a fumble earlier in the game, so why wasn't Ganz in the game at the end....Glenn has never fumbled in his life,so he needed the ball in his hands at the end................ Do you guys know how stupid that sounds? We all have wanted Cally to use all of his offense, and at the end, he made a great call, the WCO worked,we had a 1st down, and Texas was done, then the football gods gave Texass another freakin chance.I'm going to be frustrated with the crappy luck of today, but VERY happy that I saw lots of effort, and an offensive gameplan that but for bad luck, beat the #5 team in the country. Nunn is a big part of our team, and he needs our support more now then he ever did before.
  3. Well, 61264, first post huh! I'm so glad there is only one of you on earth, ...now if we can just figure out how to lower that number by one.
  4. I realize we all know he's a total jackass now, but I think Lawrence Phillips was as good as any running back that never won it. I heard he may get a movie role in 'The Longest Yard' part III !
  5. Check out http://www.weatherunderground.com/cgi-bin/...eekday=Saturday Its a great sight.Always pretty acurate. I'm a bow hunter, and I use it religiously to decide what stand I'm going to sit in, because it allows you to see wind direction, and changes to wind direction at 3 or 4 hour differentials.
  6. Great info.Lots of time into that. Another incidental mistake I noticed,is that it was stated that Mo and Bobby Purify are brothers. If I'm not mistaken, the younger one is the older one's uncle. Is that right?
  7. They have come down,I dont remember the game, but I've got a buddy that still has an 18" piece of the one that was escorted down O street back when.Cut it into take home size pieces with a hacksaw.
  8. God,dont even bring up Pavelka. He is probably the only guy on earth I hate more than Rose as an announcer. '...and a great run by my homeboy Tommy Fraaazaaah... ech!
  9. And most, if not all of their 22 rushing yards came on the fake punt.
  10. Did anyone notice after the game, Freeman was running toward Callahan to shake his hand, but he pulls up, reverses his field, and goes running into the tunnel, and proceeds to text message Callahan a 3 word message....'good game Coach'
  11. Most young people who only have watched pro football (and college really to some extent) for the last 15 or 20 years, dont even realize what they are missing. There was a time before their modern era point of reference, when players were frickin tough, played injured all the time, weren't primadonnas, didn't gyrate like a retard if they scored a touchdown, respected their coaches and team owners, didn't get in trouble, didn't jump from team to team like mercinaries, and had loyalty to the team that drafted them.Unless you are old enough to have witnessed it, you cant fathom how far it has run amuck.
  12. Or like BIGREDFAN in Omaha trying get get the barmaid's attention, when he hears 'last call' when he's at the bar!
  13. I dont think you can ever act with too much class and composure.Like Osborne used to say about celebratinf touchdowns 'act like you've been there before'. Also, in regard to being cocky or bragadocious, if you have to be the one to say something about yourself, it's probably not true. The Broderick Thomas type guys that have played for the Big Red over the years, have always been a turnoff to me.I want the talking to come from the play on the field.A personality like Cory McCeon has, I can live with and laugh at because he is goofy, but respectful of the other team. A coaches responsability to do and say the right thing goes up exponentially. The f..n hillbillies comment from a couple years ago, I felt said more about BC at that time then it did about the OU fans who were probably in the wrong. I think BC has grown up as a coach since then. The Pelini/Snyder incident from a couple years ago was low class on Pelini's part in my oppinion. He was a loose cannon waiting to go off.
  14. C-West, welcome to the board. What is your take on the game? It will be wild in the stadium, as most Husker fans have been looking forward to the game with the Horns for a while. If the Huskers can hang with Texas early, I think you'll see the crowd being a factor as the game goes on. What was Huskerfaninokie talking about with Bevo? Did I miss something? Also, if the comment from Siouxperman about Mussberger went past you, I'll fill you in.Last year after a game he did in Lincoln, he was arrested for an open beer, while in a vehicle after the game.Since there is no love loss between BM and most Huskerfans, most found it very amusing. In fact, I'd have bought the arresting officer a beer, it he'd let me! Mussberger pleaded no contest, and paid the fine. LOL If you get parked, and want to walk around to a few tailgates, there will be plenty of freindly fans around. Most the tailgateing happens west or north of the stadium.
  15. That is great news.Welcome to the fold Blake. I knew that Nebraska was the best place for him footballwise, and academically, but the fact that his brother plays at Kansas had me less than sure he'd be able to commit to the Huskers.I'm very impressed with this young man, and cant wait to watch him achieve his goals.
  16. Washusker,I totally agree with you.I'm a Big BC supporter, but every time our pass offense looks good, his USC plan looks stupider.I'd love to get another crack at them with BC pulling out all stops, though USC was ripe to be beat on THAT day, and it prob would be different next time.
  17. They announced that the attendence record was broken.I wasn't there , but from TV it appeard there were a lot of 'calf scours' yellow shirts, and plenty of red as well!
  18. I'll agree to a point.Im glad (media darling) LSU lost, and dont think they should have been above an undefeated Georgia, though now it's a mute issue. Now LSU can give Tennessee another loss.Florida will have to play very well with their remaining schedule, and I think they'll lose at least once.Michigan plays Ohio State which will drop one of them.I hope Missouri comes to town unbeaten. It would make a Husker win that much sweeter!
  19. Those 4 backs truely are interchangeable.Eaqually talented, but with individually specific top characteristics.I honestly dont care which one(s) we play, and if they're all happy with the carries they get,it is an immeasurable weapon for us,to be able to continue to run fresh legs in, or spell someone if they're having a bad day or are dinged up.I dont ever remember watching a college team that was able to play 4 quality backs, and really 5 if you include Todd. Zac had another great game, though statistically not one of his top performances.
  20. I'd say give the cyclones that one, though Blithe pushed off again to get a first down earlier in that drive. Also the Meyer QB sneak for a TD in the first half was bogus since he only scored because Hicks pushed him into the endzone.
  21. Wind will be out of the SSE at 12 -15 mph, at kickoff.Shouldn't have much effect, and both QB's will have to deal with it. Bowl Bound Cyclones, the wind never blows in Nebraska, so we wont know how to react. Oh,and I take it your monicker is several years old...correct ?(had to needle you a bit)!
  22. You wont hear Callahan admit to coaching mistakes. That's the one real problem I have with him,his response to game events that are obviously poor execution or mistakes. After the USC game, I was anxious for him to explain why we shouldn't think he's an idiot, and he comes out and says" we were one or two blocks away from having a good ground game". What fricken game did he coach" There wasn't even an individual play in that game where we were less than two good blocks from having success. Then he singles out players about costly fumbles, penalty.misreads,etc. I'd have been satisfied if he'd said...'I'm an idiot, give me another chance", but not excuses.Another anoyance is how he talks to the fans with such a condesending attitude, like well,I coached in the pros, so obviusly you cant understand all this technical stuff.I can think of dozens of just common ol hayseed fans that could have coached the USC game better that it was coached, and I'm one of them. I'll agree with Wild Bill on this one.....Have some cojones,Coach, man up!
