  1. Sadly agree with this...I will take 3 or 4 yards with Green's feet then watching this dinky ball control passing attack. It is so far working wonders with the QB and WR personnel we have.
  2. I have mentioned this in another post last week. THIS NONSENSE HAS TO STOP. Coaches need to end it now. These players that make a big commotion after a 5 yard catch or run...this is pathetic. Look at the F'n Scoreboard! I would absolutely not tolerate that as a coach.
  3. I give kudos to the defense. I enjoy watching them. Great work coaches with the defense! Keep it up! I just am shocked at how bad the offense has become. So frustrating to have a great defense with this horrible offense.
  4. Hey Bo, Hang in there…rough day. I said after the Texas Tech loss, the time for excuses will soon be up…and well, after today’s debacle that time has come sooner than I expected. So here is what you need to do: 1) Start Cody Green yesterday…wait, you didn’ t do that. Start him now for the rest of the season. If you do not do this, then I cannot help you anymore and you will regret this next season as well. 2) Put Watson, Cotton, and Gilmore on notice now…if they don’t show anything new with Green at QB, then let’s find something new for next year. You are the HEAD COACH and accountable for the entire team. We had one guy already who thought he didn’t need to be concerned about the other side of the ball. I know you will not make this same mistake. 3) The lateral pass needs to be ripped out of the playbook right now. If we cannot run it against ISU’s defense, then we will not be able to run it against any conference opponent. 4) Put a huge emphasis on recruiting OL and WR. Looks like we have some guys at OL coming up. WR is a disaster…any top WR recruit should be able to start immediately (hey, if you are competitive WR recruit you should be able to win a spot at WR now). The guys we have right now consistently have proven they are not cutting it. We need to get guys here that are playmakers and can catch the damn ball. 5) Find another RB immediately cuz Helu looks hurt. We are trying that with Robinson so keep it going and build depth. Get Burkhead back if we can. Run the ball because if you haven’t noticed our QB cannot throw accurately and our WR’s can’t catch. Run power football. Stop loading one side and running the other side into the teeth of the defense…this is just plain stupid. Are we not throwing much over 5 yards because of the current QB or our WR’s? Hard to tell as both have issues. And from the running game we can still throw 5 yarders to the TE or RB. Our playbook scares no one right now and is quite easy to defend. 6) Great work with the defense! Teach your defense to strip the damn ball and look at the ball when it is in the air…not after it is in the opposing WR’s hands. 7) Those that fumble the ball, sit them. Eight turnovers is INEXCUSABLE. If you do these things, we will be in fairly good shape. Hope this helps and we can turn it around quickly. GBR. chamrocck
  5. I am not a big fan of booing but I am TIRED of those defending that there should never be booing. This is major college football people. EIGHT F'N TURNOVERS!!! If you can't handle it...that is fine...find the bench, play on the scout team, and support those on the field. Why should we not have the right to boo when we all know Bo is chewing this garbage out right now?
  6. Embarrassing. Congrats ISU. Why the HELL did we not start Green? Stupid is as stupid does.
  7. Bingo...our offense is no threat at all. These 5 yard passes are old and easy to defend. Gotta mix it up once in a while Watson.
  8. Helu hasn't looked right last couple of games. With both he and Burkhead hurting, we need Robinson to step up. Roy is the man, but he looks like he is playing hurt.
  9. Does anyone else think it's stupid running the option with Lee? He's no threat to run, so it seems like a dumb choice to me. What happened to all the heavy sets and running the ball that we heard about all week? Bingo...the option with Lee is a lame play.
  10. Why? Lee is playng really well. He is not the one dropping the balls. Because it is obvious we need a spark on offense and Green should have opportunity to see if he can provide it. Lee is throwing the same lateral passes , 4 yard dinks, and has happy feet in the pocket which is getting us nowhere (see 7 points after 2 qtrs ). Paul dropped the one big play...I will give Lee that.
  11. As soon as the ISU QB let it fly, I said Touchdown...I have watched enough of our secondary to know we cannot defend the deep ball...we need to get this &%!@ together.
  12. Looks like Brooks will not play tomorrow per link. Major opportunity for another WR to step it up tomorrow. I am hoping one of the young guys can grab some playing time and show us what they got! http://www.ketv.com/sports/21403817/detail.html
  13. Screw the West Coast Offense, I say we start using Carter in the WILD COB!!! Welcome, Curtis. We need playmakers and we got one right here...I love it...the WILD COB!!!
  14. Thank you Blake for all your contributions to The Big Red. I enjoyed watching you on the field and know your future is a bright one.
  15. Michigan has offered now as well. Jalen's cousin is a HS senior TE headed to USC for 2010. Interesting article below...mentions how OU has heavily recruited this school in Las Vegas. There are good recruits to be found here. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/...tory?id=4579778
  16. I'll say Robinson or Okafor...we miss a bruiser back and these guys have some size. I like Mendoza as well and think he can work wonders in misdirection as you have to account for his speed. I'd really like to see some sets with Helu and another back together whether it be a heavier bruiser back for short yardage or Mendoza to pop out for passes. I just don't think most defenses are scared of our WR's and they can stack and key on Helu or come after our QB quickly. Mendoza can keep them off balance and then let one of the bigger backs punch them in the mouth once in awhile. We definitely miss Burkhead and Castille. Think of going against OU...we better have something ready!
  17. Agree mostly with last 2 posts. I think on defense, Pelini knows exactly what type of players he wants to recruit for his system. On offense, I am not sure what we are doing. We need to find identity and get players to fit a system. Otherwise it seems we are just taking what other teams leave us in recruiting. I can see the pieces coming together on defense. On offense, there are pieces (bunch of good TE's) and missing pieces (what are we doing at WR?) everywhere. Looks like we are recruiting some good O-line players and it has to start there. It is what it is right now.
  18. Have you watched KU play the past 2 weeks? Really? definitely lose to them? Have you watched us play the last 2 weeks and yes.
  19. Agree with a lot of your post. Helu is the only real offensive weapon we have. The offense should start with him. I have been shocked by these pass attack game plans we have gone with vs. Mizzou (in a frickin' downpour!) and today vs. TT. Use Helu! Lee is a below average QB...he's a nice back-up...so let's make him one. Green needs to start...yes he will make young mistakes but he will also make some plays with his legs. We are really hurting for an extra runner with Castille gone and Burkhead hurt. And I love that Green has a rocket for an arm...if you are going to pass, then really throw it once in awhile (the deep play got us back in the game finally against Mizzou). Our WR's...I could care less if half of them never play another down. I do watch a lot of other games and see WR's all over the country making great catches. The WR's for TT made that entire first drive today by hauling in catches to convert 3rd downs. I am tired of seeing our WR's making an ordinary catch and gettting up yelling and making a big amped up commotion like they just won the Super Bowl...this is embarrasing especially because they just dropped the 2 passes prior! Get yourself back to the huddle...the coaches need to stop this nonsense. Some young WR's need to rise up because there is obvious playing time to be had at WR. O-line...get your heads out. We need to do much better. Use McNeill...he is a good TE and knows how to get open. As we all know this is a very frustrating team to watch. IMO, Pelini has done a better job with the defense quicker than I would have thought...but the offense has unfortunately digressed which I did not think would happen. Callahan let the defense go in the toliet as he tried to revamp the offense...now it seems we are witnessing the flip side of that. Although I do feel like the lack of depth right now at RB and the shaky QB play is obviously a part of this lackluster offense. That being said, excuses time will run out.
  20. Cody Green needs to start. I will say the same thing as I did after the VT game. Better now to play Green and get him ready for the future. We are all going to be upset with future losses (definitely v. OU and @KU...and perhaps another one somewhere before it ends)...so let's just play Green now so we can start bringing him along. Lee is not taking us to any magical BCS game this year, that is obvious. Thank you Zac Lee for a memorable comeback game against Mizzou but it is now time for CG! Let's see what the kid can do!
