  1. Notre Dame has offered.
  2. A monster year from Suh would be awesome because it will really draw attention to the Nebraska defense, the Blackshirt tradition, and Pelini as a one of the best for coaching defensive players. Glenn Dorsey at LSU and now Suh here at NU. The defensive recruits feeding frenzy would be on. I am looking forward to a great defense this year with Suh as our anchor.
  3. I'm saying Dennard and Blue to boost our secondary. We need some big INTs. My wildcard is Asante...he hopefully can put it all together now that this will be second year with a real defensive staff.
  4. I like Swift's chances also. Any updates on Potter or Steinkuhler?
  5. From Husker Journal: MAY 9, 2009. PREP STAR BRANDON SCHERFF, OL, 6-5, 300, 5, DENISON, IOWA Brandon has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas Nebraska Spring Game “I went to the Nebraska spring game I had fun there. It was amazing how many people showed up for a spring game.” Scherff said “I was there (Nebraska) before last February or March,” says Scherff, “It was pretty amazing to see all the facilities. I met Barney Cotton he is a real nice guy. I just got along with him like I did with the other coaches.” “I’ve been to Iowa State before for a game,” Scherff said, “That’s the only college I’ve been to see games but compared to Nebraska spring game there were a lot more people there.” "I like Iowa A Lot" “I like Iowa a lot they didn’t have a spring game because they were putting down new turf on the field. I like the coaches there (Iowa) I get along with them pretty well.” Trip To Kansas “I might take a trip to Kansas this summer,” says Scherff, “They just offered not too long ago. Kansas coaches said they liked what they saw on tape and wanted to offer. I was surprised to get an offer from them. I don’t know much about them just go down there and see.” Stay In The Midwest “I hear from Iowa and Iowa State the most,” Scherff said, “I just want to stay in the midwest somewhere. I would consider Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. I’ll probably take all five visits during the football season then I will decide from there. I’m pretty much looking at academics, how I can get along with the coaches and players.” “Last year I played quarterback for the first four or five games then I was moved to tight end and defensive end. College recruiters want me as an offensive lineman I’ve never played that position before.” Scherff added
  6. From Husker Journal: MAY 2, 2009. PREP STAR TERRANCE OLDS, RB, 6-1, 218, 4.5, SPENCER (STAR SPENCER), OKLAHOMA Terrence has offers from Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Nebraska, Kansas, Florida and Georgia Oklahoma Is The Leader “I’m big Oklahoma fan they are my leader right now.” Olds said, “I’m thinking about committing to OU, I’m thinking about it them very hard.” “Reason why I’m thinking about Oklahoma is because they sit down with you and explain how every think goes. OU watches out for their recruits, they don’t want anyone to rush for a commitment because it may not be where you want to go. They want me to take my time.” Olds said “I like the feeling at Oklahoma,” says Olds, “It’s just exciting. The feeling wants me to go out there and do it harder. The games are unbelievable, just unbelievable. It’s something I couldn’t even imagine. The atmosphere, the crowd, the players do come out with a win. And I like how the coaches coach the players during the games.” Kansas Is In The Picture “I like Kansas,” says Olds. “I think they are a pretty good environment, like family to be around. I like how they work together as a team how they stick side by side by another. Through thick and then the players are always being there for one another.” “Kansas junior days is pretty cool it was different from Oklahoma though. All Kansas wanted to talk about was football they didn’t talk about academics. The first thing Oklahoma did was talk about academics get you an education and how I can get my masters in management.” Olds said “The coaching staff at Kansas is pretty cool,” says Olds, “They get right down to business. Kansas and Oklahoma are the main ones that are messing with me. They are the two that are recruiting me hard.” Oklahoma And Kansas Recruiting The Hardest “I talk to Oklahoma and Kansas the most. They gave me a number to contact them.” Olds said. “Oklahoma State coach (Robert Gillespie) said he would send me a card in the mail to call him about recruiting but I never did get it. Oklahoma State didn’t say if they would offer, they just e-mail my coach.” Terrance Will Visit SEC Schools “I do want to take other visits, I just don’t want to commit. I’m going to take all five visits I might go down to Florida and Georgia. Take a little visit down there because that’s a place I’ve never been before in my life.” Olds said “Florida and Georgia sent me some stuff in the mail about their schools and stuff. They want me to come down there and visit. I called them back and asked when to come down for a visit they want me to give them a call after the season is over.” Old added Florida Gets Busy “Oh, man they (Florida) are about the same as OU, they get busy too. I like Florida a lot. I like their coaches, their running backs coach and stuff. If something is not going right they talk it over with the coaches.’ Olds said “Georgia is different than everybody,” Olds said. “All the players talk to ever body they all go out and hang out. They work out together they don’t do anything individually everything as a group. I also like Georgia because it’s not as cold as Oklahoma.” Education “Florida and Georgia didn’t talk much about education, just a little bit. Nebraska talked to me about education too, that was the main thing. When Nebraska first talked to me it was about education that was shocker to me. I wanted to ask about the education there (Nebraska) first but they mentioned it first.” Olds said “I don’t know too much about Texas Tech, I just been there for my sisters track meet. I liked Lubbock it was pretty cool it was better than I thought it would be. It surprised me how much is going on down there.” Olds said “I probably go down to Texas Tech but they haven’t sent me anything to go down there yet. They just send me stuff about the team.” Olds added “I don’t know too much about Nebraska. I was going to visit them this year but I had car trouble and I didn’t make it down there. Bo Pelini’s secretary said to give him a call back if I want to make it back up there.” Olds said Nebraska Is In My Head “Nebraska is in my head a little bit. I get a lot of mail from them a little bit you can say. About 60 percent of mail comes from Nebraska.” Olds said with a chuckle.” “My coach thinks I will get more offers, he thinks so. My coach has faith in me and I have faith in myself. He just told me to be patient and it will all just come.” Olds said

  10. From Husker Journal: APRIL 26, 2009. PREP STAR TOBI OKUYEMI, DE, 6-3, 230, 4.7, PLYMOUTH (WAYZATA), MINNESOTA Tobi has offers from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Nebraska “I went to the Nebraska spring game with my dad,” says Okuyemi. “The game time atmosphere was awesome. I was surprised that they had so many people there. It was very impressive to see and the support.” “I liked the coaches at Nebraska. I got to talk to Bo Pelini, Barney Cotton and John Papuchis. Bo talked to me about five minutes he was too busy with the reporters about the spring game, but I did have a good conversation with the other coaches." Okuyemi said "Nebraska said they are top heavy at defensive end, if I went there I would have a chance to play my sophomore year.” Okuyemi added Outstanding Facilities “The Nebraska weight room is huge,” Okuyemi said. “The player’s lounge was amazing and the locker room was nice. I saw the Heisman Room and saw all the Heisman trophies, that was pretty cool.” Tobi Meets Husker Recruit “I met Jason Ankrah at the spring game,” Okuyemi sad. “I talked to him for awhile he signed there (Nebraska), he’s a cool guy. Ankrah said he took an official visit to Michigan and Nebraska and he knew right away that Nebraska was the right place.” Big Ten Schools Getting Early Look “I’ll probably visit Minnesota on an unofficial visit, just go down there. I like Minnesota it’s a good place. For sure all the schools I’ve been to Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska, they are all good places.” Okuyemi said “I’ve been to Iowa twice, I went to their junior days while back and a couple weekends ago I went to one of their practices. I went down with some of my teammates and that was fun doing that.” Okuyemi said “I’ve been to Wisconsin twice also. I was there for junior days and about a month ago for spring practice. The campus (Madison) is great and I got to talk to some of the players there.” Okuyemi said “To be honest I don’t know too much about Kentucky,” says Okuyemi. ”I’m hoping to have a chance to see them. If I go on a road trip that’s a place I hope to stop by and Vanderbilt and see what they are like.” Other Schools Are Interested In Tobi “Right now I’m beginning to get stuff from Oregon, Tennessee which requested my film. I plan on going to Ohio State and Notre Dame camps and see what happens.” Okuyemi said Training Schedule “We have a pretty intense training program here at school this post season. We won state and went 13-0 so we work pretty hard in the off season, a five day a week program. We have morning 7 on 7 workout outs.” Okuyemi added “I’m really explosive off the line. I have a knack of keeping my feet going, getting after the ball. Chasing the quarterback down from the back side.” Okuyemi said Post Season Games “I haven’t been contacted by any post season games,” says Okuyemi. “Yet I’m still under the radar. The start of my junior season no one has really heard of me. Once teams see my film, hopefully have a good season, I would love to play in one of those games.” “Right now I want to play early my sophomore year. Maybe redshirt my freshman year and hopefully get a good amount of playing time then. I’m also looking for a good school a place where I feel comfortable from talking to the players and coaches. ” Okuyemi said Okuyemi said he will take his all his five visits after his senior year and the commit.
  11. More on Uko: http://blogs.whittierdailynews.com/tribpreps/ So you have had enough of the Scouting Guru? How about getting JC Shurbutt of ESPN's take on Saturday's Scouting Combine at USC. Upland quarterback Josh Nunez was mentioned on his list of top offensive returning players. On his top list of defensive players, he singled out Don Lugo lineman George Uko. Uko is a pretty interesting player. As you watch him you never really know what you will see or get from play-to-play. In one instance you will see him beat everyone off the ball and crash the backfield. In another you will see him make a nice quick move and blow by a blocker. On another you can see him get tall and absorb a block yet on the next you will see him just dominate the man in front of him but possibly not notice the ball carrier go right by him. All that being said the kid shows some flashes, but needs to find some consistency. He has solid size and looks on film to have the frame to add more good bulk. 12. From Husker Journal. Let's get this kid! We need his addition to the Big Red! APRIL 21, 2009. PREP STAR GEORGE UKO, DL, 6-4, 280, 4.93, CHINO (LUGO), CALIFORNIA Uko has offers from Colorado, Tennessee, Oregon, Nebraska, Arizona and Arizona State “I don’t know much about Colorado but I’m trying to find out about them.” Uko said, “I heard they have Coach Hawkins over there and I know they are coming up program. Colorado is pretty cold but the weather doesn’t matter to me, I’ll probably take a visit out there maybe.” Family Ties In Arizona “I have family that lives in Arizona. My grandmother and grandfather are from Arizona. My uncle Ted played on Arizona’s football team. All my aunts and one of my grandma’s went to Arizona State.” Uko said I’ll probably take a (unofficial) trip to Arizona because they are pretty close to me and Arizona State,” Uko said, “One of my friends Andre Pickins plays at Arizona State and he likes it a lot.” Like Cool Weather “I like the cool weather at Oregon it’s not a factor in my decision or anything like that and I like how they are crazy about football like Nebraska is.” Uko said “I heard Oregon is really nice out there and everything. Coach Osborne is really nice he has been recruiting me for a while.” Uko added Best Defensive Coordinator Ever Walked “I’ll probably take a visit out there (Tennessee).” Uko said, “I like the coaching staff a lot. I like how they brought Monte Kiffin in he’s one of the best defensive coordinators that’s ever walked. I liked how Albert Haynesworth played at Tennessee and how he did in the NFL and they could do something like that with me.” Husker’s First To Offer “Nebraska was my very first offer,” Uko said, “It happened even before my junior season. They (verbal) offered me like during spring (2008). I went to school one day and one of my friends told me how he was in the football office and told me I had an offer from Nebraska. I was surprised to get an offer from them. They (Nebraska) never really contacted me and I really didn’t really know anything. I was really happy about it (offer) I told my parents and my mom took me out to dinner and stuff.” “Nebraska’s offer means a lot because they were the first people to offer and to notice me before anyone else did. Nebraska knew about me from the start. They knew I was something big and took their chances on me and no else wanted to follow. I didn’t get another offer until after the football season.” Uko said “Nebraska coaches like me a lot. I’m one of their top players up here. I like how much they win, Nebraska has something like five national championships, I like that a lot.” Uko said Football Crazy “I like Nebraska’s tradition where everyone is football. I hear they are football crazy. The coaches tell me all everyone cares about is football.” Uko added USC To Offer Soon “I’ll probably go to USC’s spring game,” says Uko, “USC will probably offer me when I go to their camp. They didn’t indicate it (offer) but I’m pretty sure they will, USC said they want to see me play live and they want to see me at the camp.” “USC is recruiting me hard now,” Uko said, “They weren’t at first but now they are looking at film and they are on me pretty hard, like I’m one of their top recruits, and one of the top defensive lineman in the state.” “I saw a USC practice a couple days ago and I liked how they run their practices and everything. I like how Pete Carroll is fired up and how he is with the players.” Uko said Looking At Other Teams “I’m sending films out to LSU and Oklahoma. LSU seems like they will offer, probably both of them. I will probably visit them if I get offers. I just talked to LSU and they asked me my interest level and stuff. They didn’t want to offer someone this far away just to get an offer and not thinking about going there. Some kids want to get offers just to say they got one.” Uko said Conditioning “I try to work out every day,” says Uko, “It’s a lot of fun me and my friend use this SPARQ parachute. We only have one parachute but we are going to move it up to two or three. When you use the parachute a few times you can feel the difference with the weight pulling back adds resistance, helps you gain speed. We run 40’s with it about seven times.” “I’m trying to get on the field soon as I can. Arizona said I probably can come in and start. Most PAC 10 schools say I could come in and play early. At Tennessee I haven’t really asked them about it. USC I think I will have to sit out a year but use they need a three technique tackle.” “I also want to go where the players are like my personality and I probably will fit in with the coaches.” Uko added Decision Time “I’m going to take all my trips and everything, sit down with my parents and see what they think. I will make a decision from that and commit on signing date.” Uko said

I learned a little bit about Nebraska’s tradition, I thought it was pretty cool.” “I hear from Nebraska a little bit here and there,” Odighizuwa said, “I tried to give them a call a few weeks ago.” Good Guy To Play For “Pete Carroll said he would like me to come down in the summer time. He offered me on the phone but really didn’t talk to me. I heard a lot about him (Carroll) he’s a good guy and seems like a coach to play for. ” Odighizuma said “I’m still considering USC, they are a nice school and they have a lot to offer. I hear from USC from e-mail quite a lot and I call them here and there.” Odighizuma said Owa Connecting With ND “I’ve talked to Charlie Weiss (Notre Dame), the defensive line coach and a player that came out of Lincoln High School here is Portland, it was a nice conversation and I got to know more about Notre Dame.” Odighizuma said “Notre Dame wants me to come down there like any other school. I’m still searching and researching before I start narrowing things down. I’m looking for a regular town, just really good coaching. Coaches that can help me become a better student and athlete.” Odighizuma said Recruiting Attention “I see it as a blessing, I can’t complain,” says Odighizuma. “It can be a lot to deal with. I look at it as an opportunity of a life time.” What Coaches Like “Coaches say they like my quickness, strength and explosiveness. They like how I use my hands for separation.” Odighizuma said
  14. From Husker Journal. This kid will need a visit for him to be excited about us. NICK DEMIEN, OT, 6-6, 295, 5, WENTZVILLE (TIMBERLAND ), MISSOURI Nick has offers from Iowa, Nebraska, Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, UCLA, Florida State, Missouri, Kansas and others. Nick said the only schools that he has visited that on his commit list are Missouri and Iowa. Tigers May Have Early Edge “I liked them (Missouri) right off the bat because it a team I’m use to,” says Demien. “Obviously they have a pretty good football program and there are not too far away. That’s an extra bonus that Missouri is close.” “Being at Missouri is not a big deal to me, I just want to go where is best for me no matter how far away it is. I get pressure basically the people who live in Missouri but I getting use to it” Demien said “I grew up with Missouri because it was a state team, my uncle played there too. I kind of grew up with Missouri. I hear from Coach Ford or Walker. I get e-mail from them a lot and hand written letters.” Demien said Iowa A Good Football Program “When I went to Iowa it was nice little town based on football. Iowa’s football program maybe not as big (championships) but it is still nice football.” Demien said “I didn’t get see much of the campus because it was really cold. I was not trying to move around a lot, stay where it was warm.” Demien added “I don’t know a whole ton about Nebraska that was more of a most recent offer, so I don’t know a whole lot about them.” Demien said Demien Wants To Travel Around “I would like to get (visits) to some Southern schools and the West Coast schools. I like the West coast because it’s a little different area. It’s just a different setting and I want to see what it is like,” says Demien, “I don’t have a set of schools that I want to go to in the South, I want to get to as many as I can. The West coast I would like to visit UCLA. Maybe Oregon too they have some interest in me.” “I’ll probably wait to narrow it down until but more in the summer time because I want to check out some of these places and everything.” Demien added “I might take all five visits it depends,” says Demien. “If I find the right school I’ll commit then. If I go to two and three visits and I know from there, I’ll go ahead and commit. Right now I don’t have a clue where I will take my official visits.” “The overall package I guess you can say. Comfortably, campus, what the coaches are like, the people. Look at the football team if they have a good program, a strong program.” Demien said
  15. From Husker Journal. Looks like this guy could play TE or DE...wants to visit us. APRIL 7, 2009. We have baseball games on the weekends, I play DH. I don’t plan on playing baseball in college.” Dickson said “My brother use to play at LSU, I’ve been to some of the games there. It’s a real good atmosphere on Saturday night. Gameday is nuts over there.” Dickson said No Stranger To LSU I know all the coaches at LSU. I’ve been talking to coach Myles a lot since the 9th grade. That’s how Bo Pelini (Nebraska) knew about me when he was at LSU. I met Bo at a summer camp.” Dickson said “I just got an offer from Tennessee,” Dickson said, “I’m going to try to make it up there and see a game this fall.” “My brother really liked Tennessee when he was playing at LSU. Both of my parents really liked it up there (Knoxville) when LSU played at Tennessee. I haven’t been able to make the trip yet (Tennessee) but I want to check things out.” In State Schools “I just watched Mississippi State practice. I was supposed to visit Ole Miss last week but we had a rain delay in baseball and we had to make that up. Mississippi State has good facilities, they have a new academic center the weight room is real nice.” Dickson said “I like Coach Mullen (Mississippi State) I talked to him at practice. I know Coach Mullen will turn the program around. I like how he talks about it, he seems like he is the man.” Dickson added Missouri Ties “I don’t know too much about Missouri but my position coach Josh Henson is the new offensive line coach at Missouri. I’ve talked to him a couple of times, things like scenery, the town and everything. I really do want to make a visit over there (Columbia). When I make the trip to Missouri I will stop by and see Nebraska.” Dickson said Huskers Have A Chance “I’m real interested in Nebraska,” Dickson said, “I’m trying to get a good look at everybody. It’s doesn’t matter how far away or anything. My parents are pretty much retired, I’m their last child so they can go anywhere for the weekend.” “I like Coach Bo Pelini. I’ve talked to Bo a couple of times on the phone. Bo wanted me to come down for the spring game. It would be hard I have a baseball game that weekend.” Dickson said “I really like the letters they show me. If I make a visit to Nebraska it will have to be during the summer.” “I haven’t narrowed it down at all. I’m just trying to make all my visits right now and see everybody. I’m going to try to take all five officials before I decide. The way I’m looking at it right now maybe (commit) early to middle of the season.” Dickson added
  16. Latest From Husker Journal: B J CHITTY, ATH, 6-3, 180, DOTHAN (NORTHVIEW), ALABAMA B J has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Nebraska and Southern Mississippi “I’m not leaning to any school just keeping my options open.” Chitty said Iron Bowl “I like how they (Alabama) control things, I like their offense. I’ve been to Alabama four or five times. I went to the Iron Bowl last year when they played Mississippi State it was a crazy game and the crowd was loud.” Chitty said “I like the whole environment at Auburn,” Chitty said, “I liked coach Tuberville but he’s not there anymore. Auburn coaches told me that I can start right off the bat.” “Last year I saw some games at Auburn, the Tennessee and LSU games. I liked game day at Auburn they were both good games.” Chitty said Pressure From Instate Programs “I don’t have a preference with Alabama and Auburn. Where I live (Dothan) it’s mixed between Auburn and Alabama fans. I’m getting a lot of pressure from my friends of both schools. It’s going to be a tough decision.” Chitty said “I grew up watching Alabama more than Auburn but I really grew up being a Florida Gator fan. I’ve heard from Florida but I don’t have an offer. I hope they do offer.” Chitty said Nebraska Maybe To Far “I like Nebraska but I can’t make it up there that far. I don’t know yet if I would visit them on an official. I don’t know much about Nebraska other than what they send me in the mail. I get a bunch of letter from Bo Pelini.” Chitty said “I was very surprised to get an offer from Nebraska,” Chitty said, “They were my first offer. I told my coach and my friends about the Nebraska offer. Chitty indicated that he wanted to play early.
  17. Latest From Husker Journal: APRIL 5, 2009. PREP STAR JACOBY WALKER, QB, 6-2, 190, 4.7, SPRING (WESTFIELD), TEXAS Jacoby has offers from Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma State Kansas Leads For Walker “Right now with the offers I have I’m leaning towards Kansas.” Walker said, “I like Kansas because they are in the Big 12 and it’s a competitive conference. They do a lot of things on offense and is a team on the rise in college football.” “I’ve haven’t been to Kansas yet, but I plan on going to their spring game next week. I’m excited about it because being in Texas I’ve never been far as the heartland.” Walker said “I don’t search Kansas on the Internet. I watch Sports Center 24/7 so…….I’m watching a soccer game now.” Walker added “Nebraska was the first team to offer me,” Walker said, “They verbally offered me after my sophomore year. By my junior year Nebraska and Oklahoma State offered me in writing.” Huskers Put Up Big Numbers “I know a lot about Nebraska, I watch them on TV. They put up a lot of numbers. The last two quarterbacks put up a lot of points on the board. Nebraska is always four wide on offenses like some schools. At my school were kind of balance. I kind of like pro style because I can read defenses.” Walker said “I still hear from Nebraska,” Walker said, “Coach Watson talks to me about the spring game. I’m not sure if I will make it for the game.” Walker added “I don’t hear from Oklahoma State as much because I think they have commits from two other quarterbacks. I’m still being recruited by them but having two quarterback commits I don’t know where I would play.” Walker said Video Game Numbers “I like how Oklahoma State uses their quarterbacks. They like to run the ball a lot and they use different schemes on offense for the quarterbacks. Oklahoma State system puts up video game numbers. Ridiculous numbers. They are one of the teams that go under center and spread it out, real versatile.” Walker said “I plan on making my decision early in the summer so I can focus on my senior year. I want to wait after spring ball to make sure everything is on the table. I’m not looking at depth charts or anything, that’s not my main reason. I still have to compete for a spot.” Walker added

I like Arizona’s offense the spread the ball around. I haven’t been to Tucson but I’ve done some research on them in the Internet.” Slavin said “I like how most of their (Arizona) coaching staff came from Texas Tech when they recruited Crabtree and Welker. I like the campus at Arizona there is a lot of things to do there.” Slavin added Slavin Names A Leader “Oregon is recruiting me the hardest they are very interested in me. They (Oregon) have been to my school more than anyone else. I feel like I will get an offer from Oregon, the coaches said they offer (players) late and I should get an offer before my senior year or during the season” Slavin said “Oregon sent me an e-mail about a tour of the facilities and everything. I like Oregon’s facilities and uniforms. I like how they use the spread offense I can see myself in Eugene as a Duck. I’m leading towards Oregon than anyone else.” Slavin said “UCLA invited me to some baseball games that I might go to. I like UCLA but I’m not that real interested in them. I am considering them some.” You’re a Name Star At Nebraska “I really haven’t heard too much about them (Nebraska) but I could be really interested in them,” Slavin said, “I hear that when you play football at Nebraska your one of the main stars there because they don’t have any other pro teams.” Badger Camp “I went to the 7 on 7 Badger Camp in Las Vegas it was cool I wish I got a lot more love.” Slavin said “What they do is split you up in teams of different states you came from. Like Arizona was there, Washington, California. There was like five California teams. Texas was there.” Slavin said “They threw me in this one California team which basically what they did. They gave us colored uniforms and played other states. The number one quarterback (Heapes) in the nation was there. He was real good they (Seattle) lost in the first round.” Slavin added
  19. From Husker Journal: APRIL 3, 2009. PREP STAR SCOTT YOUNG, QB, 6-3, 185, 4.8, DENTON (RYAN), TEXAS Texas Tech commit Why Texas Tech? “I’ve been talking to their coach a lot and I just thought it would be a good place. I went down and visited Texas Tech like the beginning of football season to see one of their games and I really like what I saw. They (Tech) have a similar offense (spread) as ours and I thought it was a good fit.” Young said “When I went on my visit all the coaches made me feel really good,” Young said, “They acted like they cared about me a lot. The coaches really helped my decision.” “Texas Tech facilities are really nice. I didn’t get to see all of it,” Young said, “That’s why I’m going to their spring game April 18 so I can look around a little bit more. From what I saw definitely see myself fit in.” “I like Lubbock a lot. What attracted me the most was how crazy the fans are about the football team. Lubbock is only a four hour drive that was a factor in my decision. It’s kind of far but not too bad.” Young said “Right now the only spring game I have scheduled is the Tech game. I might look into a couple more. One of my offensive linemen (Garrett Gramling) really likes Baylor right now, so he might go to Baylor spring game, I might go too.” Former teammate helped make the decision for Texas Tech “Yahshua Williams (teammate) signed with Texas Tech last year and he told me a lot about the system and stuff, Yahshua told me a lot about some of the visits he went to and for what reason why he committed to Tech.” Young said “One of our rival schools Kyle Clark, who signed with Texas Tech this year, is from Guyer. Kyle talked to me a lot about it (Texas Tech). He was one of the reasons why Tech started to look at me for the first place. He told the coaches about me. Kyle is really a nice guy. When I go down to Tech for their spring game, I will be spending some time with him, help me look around.” Young said Baylor Junior Day’s “I went to Baylor’s junior days and I really like it a lot.” Young said, “I thought it was a really good school and good facilities. I just thought Texas Tech offense fit me better. I pretty much narrowed it down to those two schools. The Baylor coaches were great. Baylor’s offense would be a big adjustment to the college level.” Tech Game With Nebraska “I went to the Texas Tech and Nebraska game,” Young said, “All the fans were really into the game. It was just a really good atmosphere at the game. It was a good game they (Tech) pulled it off at the end (overtime). All the coaches were really happy after the game I got to see what it was like in to win a game the locker room. Nebraska is turning their program around a lot. They looked good in the game.” Young said Still Hear From Nebraska “Nebraska came out and watched me throw a little bit they are sort of talking to me a little bit. I still get letters from Nebraska. They send me a letter about the spring game.” Young said “I’m pretty happy with my decision right now, I’m going to keep my options open a little bit and see if a better door opens, but right now I’m pretty happy where I am.” Young added

I’m not solid with California I’m a soft verbal to them.” Guy said “I told the California coaches that I was going to look around, they understood. I still have a lot of time even though I’m graduating early In January. I still want to look around find the best fit for me.” Guy said “UCLA is one of the schools I’m going to look at this summer. It’s a great environment great education. It’s on a rise football team. UCLA said I can have a chance to play early there. UCLA coaches really want mo out there and I have a chance to fit in.” Guy added Close To Home “It’s (Texas A&M) school, they have a good program. A&M is trying to regain their reputation. I talked to Coach Sherman the other day you can tell his energy.” Guy said “The fans feel pretty confident what Sherman is doing,” Guy said, “They like the recruits he is bringing down and the direction where the program is going. It’s a great school. Coach Rodriguez is a pretty good coach hopefully he can jump start Michigan back to the old ways. Nebraska and all the schools that offered me said they will be down this spring and talk to me.” “I’m going to take as many visits as I can but you know with the short time I have, I don’t know if I will make them all. I’ll probably have my school chosen by end of November. I’ll try to make some (game day) visits after my Friday night games.” Guy said “I’m looking at a school where I like the coaching staff and a great education. I’m willing to leave the area. Just what feels right. My parents support me whatever I do. Where ever I go they will support me.” Guy said Hearing From Other Schools “Schools are trying to come in like Notre Dame. Vanderbilt and Oregon pretty much are interested.” Guy added “Our school plays a 4-3 defense,” Guy said, “I play nose tackle. I also can play defensive tackle, shade and the three technique.”
