  1. I suggest getting a taste of Midleton Very Rare - it lives up to the hype. Exceedingly smooth and luscious. I'm not sure it's worth the price they usually want for an entire bottle, especially considering the wide variety of quality whiskeys available now, but it's something everyone should try at least once.
  2. Trying to make themselves look like they've got good dick sucking lips. They're just wannabe whores.
  3. This would be worse for me than a casino for a gambleholic. Pretty sure I'll never go.
  4. Don't forget that you're paying for labor, which includes time spent. The latter part includes more than just the time it would take a person to actually diagnose and fix it, but also travel time to your residence (with costs built in there as well, including gas and vehicle maintenance). Convenience for you is also added in, since it's a house call, rather than you bringing the unit to a shop. It's just how businesses are run.
  5. omfg Ignored. You're not even worth the effort, ffs.
  6. Because I read and watch various news sources and every single one has stated as much. They're complicated AA setups operated by multiperson crews with radar and tracking designed to shoot down enemy military assets (including fighters). Every single report has indicated they require significant training to operate. Who knows? Apparently everyone reporting about the systems. Next?
  7. No, a BUK (assuming that's what it was) AA launcher is not something that a can be operated by a single, trigger happy ignorant button pusher. That's just a complete bullsh#t notion. It's a complicated piece of equipment that requires a multiperson crew of trained individuals. That training does not just materialize out of thin air.
  8. Planted tanks are where it's at. Or salt water tanks, but holy christ, the work to do it properly...
  9. Are you kidding me about Aussie Rules Football? Do you even watch it? The game has undergone huge changes to better protect players and prevent/discourage high, dangerous hits. So much so that there's a large backlash about the game essentially being pussified...sound familiar to the football most Amercians know? Thought so. Edit - And most games do NOT have significant injuries like that. I take it back, it's pretty clear you don't even follow the sport. Carry on.
  10. Oh, I wanted to mention The Still bought a barrel of Old Forester and has bottles on sale for $35. This barrel produced a good bourbon, and when you add in the different bottle and the fact that it's a barrel just for The Still, I'd say it's worth it. It's a pretty solid bourbon with definite fruity notes that add a nice touch. Just a heads up for those in the area.
  11. And thus begins the cycle that ends the world... The new Thor is female.

  12. Well, in an ideal situation, maybe they wouldn't be so great. I think everyone would probably rather see stuff go through Congress...if Congress actually functioned. But it doesn't - not even close. I wouldn't rely on Congress for sh#t, either. I'd spend all f'ing day writing EO after EO since you know Congress won't get anything useful done. Hard to blame any President for bypassing those douchebags.
  13. That's some good journalism there, thanks for linking it. It goes from something like "most historians attribute it to non-nefarious reasons" to "others allege more nefarious reasons" to "the government systemically tried to wipe out blacks in Argentina." That's the way journalism should be. I actually got a laugh out of it.
  14. Good game, the best team in the tournament won. It's too bad Messi didn't get his World Cup here, but Argentina certainly had their chances and didn't take them. Including Messi. You can't ask for much more.
  15. It's just a preventative measure for fan safety when the circumstances warrant increased caution. It's not the vast majority of fans they're worried about, or even any specific threat, but what a few unbalanced morons might do. When you have a group of fans that are that passionate about a sport, to the point of it being a religion, and they've just been utterly destroyed on the field, you have to assume a few retards might try to pull some sh#t. Better safe than sorry.
  16. It doesn't matter that they were international friendlies. The defense and midfield did not ever just collapse without Silva around. Collapse - not show a dip in efficiency, communication, chemistry, or anything else, but all out collapse. That is what we witnessed from top tier, professional soccer players. The loss of the players was important, Neymar especially, but only in that it further exposed the issue with Brazil as a team. They relied far too much on emotion and belief, and not enough on being technical and their abilities. And that is from the pressure put on them, especially since they won the Confederations Cup. With the loss of Neymar, you saw them rallying around him, holding his jersey, the crowd constantly chanting for him, etc. All evidence of a team, and a nation of fans really, fanatically centered on the wrong aspect of a soccer team. So when you had that enormous pressure combined with playing from pure emotion, rather than a certain technical aloofness, you get the recipe for a disaster like we saw. It had nothing to do with Silva or Neymar (mostly Neymar) not being there, their absence just further exposed the real problem through player and fan actions. Silva's presence would not have suddenly seen the defense and midfield gel together or avoid utter collapse. It's like saying someone could hold a bursting dam together just by standing in front of it and putting his hands on the cracks.
  17. So you don't keep in touch with any of them? Then f#*k going, what would be the point? It might be worth it if you didn't like most of the people in high school, are awesome now, and want to rub it in their faces. If not, continue on with your life, which is probably better off without any of them in it.
  18. I attribute the result to the players simply caving under the enormous pressure they've been facing all through the runup to the WC and in the tournament itself. No single player can account, or even come close, for the complete and utter breakdown Brazil's defense and midfield had. Nobody. While there was lack of communication, that is symptom of the larger problem they were having, not the missing player. That lack of communication would have been there whether Silva was playing or not. He might not have "been having any of it," but he would have been screaming and directing with no result. We saw Brazilian defenders and midfield revert to pre-high school levels of technique and soccer IQ. That is not a f'ing communications problem. They were not closing down, being physical, marking runners, recognizing runners, giving anywhere close to 100% effort, clearing properly, returning from the midfield properly, clearing their lines, etc. Do I need to go on, because I could, for an entire page. It was an absolute shambles, and easily the most shocking thing I have ever seen in soccer in all my decades of watching. Without a doubt, nothing comes close, and I doubt anything will ever clome close. Silva did not play in all of Brazil's games over the last year, and was subbed out once, I think, and the defense didn't suddenly become what we saw against Germany. If he was so important, they would have. Don't forget, Germany was not doing anything special, they just played solid soccer. Any team, ANY TEAM, in this WC would have beaten Brazil yesterday.
  19. No, not at all. Nobody would have made any real difference. The entire defense and midfield were attrocious. These are professional soccer players, and not just that, but top tier ones. Silva is not some kind of miracle glue that holds a defense together, where if he's not there, all of a sudden they forget how to play. That concept is just laughable, and I feel sorry for anyone that believes it. Yes, forget how to play, that's how bad it was. It was not just organizational problems for Brazil, but so much more.
  20. I've watched middle school soccer games with better defensive performances than that of Brazil in this game. That's how bad it was. Unbelievable.
