  1. If the athletic department sells every ticket does that constitute a sellout? What if I buy 200 tickets but not everyone in my extended family can come? My friend hates NU and has threatened to buy a ticket and throw it away claiming it will end the streak. It that true?
  2. Thanks everyone, Dizzturbed, did your kid go through a honeymoon period? Also, do they attend public school? We are doing good with caring for our son. He is a trooper that is for sure. I am sort of glad that he is getting used to this at a young age. Caring for him means anticipating and calculating. Anticipating his activity level and carb intake, and calculating the correct insulin dosage. I am pretty good at math, and my memory is good, so I have strengths to rely on. My wife is somewhat overloaded emotionally and concerned about school and babysitters that have to care for him when she is at work. I know when things settle into a routine that she will be more comfortable. The more people that are trained to take care of him the better. Life is very unpredictable, and you have to take the good with the bad. I appreciate all of the support.
  3. Is boring compared to college football. Is awesome when it comes to fantasy football. Fantasy football is the only thing that makes the NFL watchable. It's not that bad imo, but FFB does add excitement.
  4. Yeah, but there's a "9" next to the "3".
  5. Found out this last Monday that our 4 year old son has type 1 diabetes. Needless to say this has been a pretty trying week for my wife and I. Add a sinus infection for me, and an ear infection for the 1 year old boy and we are physically and emotionally spent. On the bright side, our 4 year old is doing well with his blood sugar checks and insulin shots. He seems to feel very good these days. He is eating better than he ever has. It's going to be a while before I come to terms with his medical disability, though. I still look at the situation as if he is "sick" or something, not that he has a medical handicap that will be with him for life. A life that can be totally normal outside of being diabetic. His first month of prescriptions ran about $280 after insurance, which will be tough for us on a monthly basis. Not to mention the bill that is coming for 3 days in the hospital. Anyone else here have first hand experience with type 1 diabetes?
  6. ...snip... unless you are really saddled into the idea that Martinez should be playing all 4 quarters or something like that. ...snip... Is that really odd thinking or something? Nope, just that not seeing Taylor Martinez playing all 4 quarters surprised you. I wasn't so much surprised as disappointed that the coaches actually made that move when they did for this game. Playing Cody in the latter stages of the game seemed more appropriate, and is more customary with a comfortable lead. It's just that for me, when you are going full boar with your offense, your should be playing your #1's unless they are hurt or really need a rest, which maybe TM did.

  10. All I have to do is read the OP to work up a good laugh. Works every time.
  11. Is it just me, or is it still a reach to be considered "back", even after beating an unranked Washington on the road? Not trying to be negative, it just doesn't feel right. Maybe I just like being under the radar.
  12. I was disappointed to see Cody Green come in when he did. Before he fumbled. I just didn't see the thinking of the coaches there. Martinez is obviously the starter, and if you are on the road up by 2 touchdowns before half, you don't change anything that was already working. Wrong move, wrong time IMO.
