  1. Who Cares!!!! I'd rather have talented guys leaving than have the cupboard bare and have to "settle" on a QB that either isn't ready or doesn't have the talent to win some games. There's no way to look at Blaine's commitment and see anything negative. Our 2008 class is going to be SICK!!!
  2. Does anybody have a copy of this article? Someone I was talking to the other day mentioned one of the last questions asked. Basically Shatel asked Callahan about not being able to game-plan in the 2nd half, and Callahan pulled out a list and mentioned that they always changed things up as needed but it didn't show because the players didn't execute. I didn't read the article, but the way it was described to me made it sound like BC was throwing the players under the bus and not taking any of the blame. So if anybody can post the article or find it, I would greatly appreciate it.
  3. HAHA, a bitter Yankee fan! haha
  4. Have fun, and don't go "poking around" anywhere you shouldn't be!
  5. Three words for giving my team an F: Ted Ginn Junior.
  6. Welcome Trojans! One piece of advice for you is DON'T pay more than $150/ticket. Last year Texas was the premier game here in Lincoln, and you can easily get tickets 3-4 hours before the game without paying an arm and a leg. Unless you want the comfort of having the tickets in hand that would be the route I would go. Another option is ebay. Generally a month or so before the game the tickets will be pretty high, but when it comes down the the last couple of weeks before the game, the prices start to drop considerably. The last option is to wait until halftime. I'm sure when the Huskers build a 7 TD lead there will be plenty of fans that will give you their re-entry passes when they head downtown for a beer! ha One thing is for certain if you travel to Lincoln: If you walk 5 blocks in ANY direction from the stadium you'll be safe, even in those dreaded Trojan colors! Good luck
  7. Specs?, Price?, Brand of major components(motherboard, processor, ect.)? As fast as possible, as inexpensive as possible. I like the occasional computer game and like to store photos as well. And I'm computer illiterate also.
  8. Hey Husker Nation, I have been reading various NU blogs for several weeks, and I'm hearing a lot of pain. As a Trojan I want to remind you we were down and out for about 12 years before Pete Carroll turned things around. Look at our record the past 5 years and we look great. But I remember the 1991 USC season. We finished 3-8 and lost to Memphis State! You talk about being in the dumps. But guys, Nebraska is a school of champions. You are a class act. When Pete Carroll came, signs started appearing in the stands, "we believe". You have to keep the faith, you are not that far away from the glory years like the past. I remember wondering if we would every get back to the top, now I almost take it for granted. I have two kids who graduated from SC. The oldest never saw USC beat UCLA, the youngest never saw USC lose to UCLA. Things can happen that fast when you have the right combination of talent and coaching. You are almost there. Don't get negative on yourselves. Another motto SC has is "Living the Dream". Some of you aren't living the dream, you're sleep walking. Besides USC, I have been a distance fan of Nebraska and Alabama my whole life. It pains me to hear what I am hearing. I look at the banner at the top of this page and I see 43 bowl games, 92 All-Americans, 5 national titles, and 48 conference titles, and I don't know how many Heismans. You've been there before, you will be there again. Last year I read where two PAC-10 players from different schools said something to the effect that they were looking forward to the SC game because USC was the standard to measure your self. Well I'm telling you, we are looking forward to the Nebraska game as a standard of measure. That "N" on that helment means something, and you had better believe when the cardinal and gold show up in Lincoln Sept 15th they will be aware of who you are. Thats respect. Well thank you sir for the opinion of an "outsider", so to speak, and thanks for taking the time to share your insight with the board. I was at the game last year in SoCal, and the majority of SC fans there were respectable, knowledgeable individuals that remembered the Huskers of old. There were some young, disrespectful punks as well but I've seen that from Husker fans in Lincoln also. It was a great trip and though the outcome was painful I still had a great time. Will you be here for the game this fall?
  9. Think about National Title contenders MOST YEARS for every conference: Pac 10 - USC, (Cal, UCLA?) Big 11 - Michigan, OSU (Penn St, Wisconsin, Iowa?) Big East - none (WVU, Louisville?) ACC - Florida State, Miami (VA Tech, Clemson?) Big 12 - Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska SEC - Florida, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas The teams not mentioned usually don't compete for even conference titles most years. Last year was a really bad year for the Big 12. You look at the Big East, they had 3 teams in the running for a national title game until the last couple of weeks of the season. The Big 11 had 2 teams that could have met in the title game and a 3rd that an argument could have been made for. I understand the passion and preference for the Big 12 as much as the next Husker fan, but just like Hunter said, the teams have to show up and beat quality opponents and win games that matter in order to get recognition.
  10. Wow, this got me thinking....I have 3 season tickets, mine are 35 rows better, and if there is a sucker that will pay this much I'll gladly take $2,400 for my 3! hahaha
  11. They wouldn't sell for that much on ebay....so that's too much. This year face value is $52/game. Usually tickets can be purchased the day of the game for face value, and paying a little more will get you a choice seat.
  12. I need a new desktop...mine crashed. I did just get a new Dell laptop though.
  13. It is possible. They have ATM and TTech at home and go to OU. They also have NU & IA ST at home, go to CU and KSU and play KU in Kansas City, so their schedule isn't really that tough. I think a lot of people think we'll have similar outcomes in conference but they will beat us at home.
  14. Thanks man, I'll be sure to. Just got to find a way to hide the porn from the wife!
  15. If anybody doesn't think Keller is liked by his teammates, there's a little bar in Lincoln that I see quite a few guys at every Wednesday night. Keller hangs out with several players and they all seem to get along great. Now maybe he's a 'tag along', but it sure doesn't appear so.
  16. Here's my best guess: IT WAS A PRACTICE!
  17. Next year will be something nice to see, with an experienced veteran (Ganz), a gifted but raw West Coast RS Freshman (Witt), and an athletic, talented RS Sophomore (Lee). I know it's early and all speculation (but still fun), but I think Lee will be the starter for 2008 and the coaches will have to get in some different plays to take advantage of his ability to make plays with his legs.
  18. This is great stuff for internet boards, but does anybody on this site have access to the program, or access to anybody that has a grudge against the current administration or coaches? I'd really like to know what people close to the situation feel. Why Vrzal wore the T-shirt he did, and what was done to the Sandman to make him so hostile? I do know a guy that works at University Foundations who said himself and many of the employees there cannot stomach Steve Pedersen because they're never sure when he's telling the truth or blowing hot air. This is just one guy's opinion, and he's told me some stories that I've taken with a grain of salt because they're not coming from the source, but I do take the time to listen when he speaks of his experiences. I've also talked to a few players that were upset when Doak was fired, but not for some of the reasons the papers reported. Doak was a guy that would talk to the players about their everyday lives and a lot of issues they were having. Another coach that did that was John Blake. One of the players went up to talk to Coach E about some things and within 3 minutes E was talking about having the kid in the correct position to make a play and talking about footwork. And I think some of these things are reasons the former players are so upset, because what once felt like a family atmosphere is now like a business. And really, the average Husker fan knows a change was needed, that the option was not going to land the top recruits in the country and that every coach wasn't going to be an assistant for 15+ years. I'm sure the players knew change was needed also. But I don't think they liked the way the change occurred and they don't like not having somebody to go to anymore, like they did with TO, Frank, Albers, Doak, Gill, etc.
  19. He will not be 100% this year, if he plays at all.
  20. I live in Lincoln and just bought a Dell, so I'm going to save your name in case I need some repairs!
  21. My thoughts exactly. No offense to Ganz. Deep down we all know who will start and that the debate of Keller vs Ganz is just for fun with the media. And to keep people like us busy in the offseason Think about other reasons Keller will start. Guy didn't come here for 1 year and bypass the NFL to sit. And his dad was and still is VERY INVOLVED in the NFL and probably has a lot of contacts still. Dad isn't going to kick back and watch his boy sit either.
  22. Just found this on CNN.com: LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- NBC's "Friday Night Lights" are shining brighter. A day before the freshman series' season finale, the network on Tuesday ordered six additional scripts of the critically praised but low-rated series. While this is short of the early second-season order NBC recently bestowed on another struggling rookie, the comedy "30 Rock," the order does strengthen "Friday"'s chances for a return next season. "Friday" is the second NBC series on the bubble to receive a six-script order this week, following a similar pickup for veteran "Medium" Monday. "Friday" is an adaptation of the 2004 feature about a high school football team. Kyle Chandler leads the ensemble cast of the drama, which recently won a Peabody Award.
  23. Tickets generally aren't distributed until a few weeks before the 1st game, but season renewals are due now. I know a girl that has 2 tickets on the 15 yard line, west stadium about 10 rows up. She's selling every ticket besides USC. She may put them on ebay because she wants to make some $ on them. I think they cost her $720 or so for the season.
  24. Yeah, is there any source that it's being cancelled? My wife is a bigger fan than I am! And I think Smash is a Junior and so is the QB Matt S. I think Riggins is a senior.
