  6. I'm so excited to be at drill during the game tomorrow...
  7. I have seen many of these emails before, they are all over, but are you insinuating that you have to be an uneducated lower class southerner to agree with anything in this email? just asking... I've heard people of all walks of life talk like this. The only common factor is they are racist and vote strictly Republican. I personally love meeting these people; I find it humorous when they rant and rave.
  8. Murica, where the language is Amurican. We dun fly murican flags and eat Big Macs. HURR DURR
  9. I'd like an answer to this, if it's not too difficult for you. This is probably the easiest question I have ever been asked. I like the Huskers because they are "my" team. I have lived in Nebraska all of my life and have a love for the state, and one of the main ways this state is identified is through Nebraska football. It's kind of a big deal around here. My dad has been a fan since forever, and while I wasn't into it as much as I am now, I still remember watching all the games that were on TV, way back as early as 1990 (I was six at that time). So, like many fans in this state, the Huskers have a special place in my heart. I know you grew up here but why do you "LIKE" the huskers?
  10. Stupid reality TV shows. Th Real World set decent television back 20 years.
  11. That's the reason I think it isn't more popular in the US. People in Europe and the rest of the world have been playing and watching this sport forever. Deep rivalries developed and success in sport is a feedback loop. The more attention a sport gets, the easier it is to attract more followers. I think soccer could make it in the US, but it would take something like ringing success at the world cup to get the ball rolling (ooh, there's a pun). I see what you did there. And I agree. U.S. soccer isn't going to get the resounding attention it needs to thrive without doing something great first. As bad as it sounds, U.S. soccer needs to get very, very good in order for people to start paying attention to it more. And kids need to get interested in it at a younger age. Right now, big time money and big time opportunity is viewed as coming from football, basketball, and baseball. When people think of getting out of a trouble youth situation and going to college, soccer doesn't seem to pop up as the first choice. It's just not appealing to the masses. I don't know about the east side of the state but on the west side in the smaller communities soccer is the first game we start playing as children.
  12. Games only end with a tie in Group stage. Once it moves to single elimination it goes to added time and penalty kicks to break draws.
  13. Because it utilizes both endurance, burst speed, and foot coordination more than any other sport. You can play it wherever whenever because all you need is a ball. It's a sport you can discuss with sports fans of other countries. (You'd be surprised...99% of Iraq civilians HAVEN'T heard of the Nebraska Cornhuskers!!) People like you hate it, and it gives me great pleasure leaving people like you in the dark.
  14. Sorry that us tall skinny people have a sport we can enjoy other than long distance running... I'll be sure to remember we're second class citizens when it comes to sports.
  15. Wish I could, but my little brother will definitely be there. Texas isn't going to know what hit them.
  16. Somebody doesn't want to remember the first game of the Big 12 tournament...
  17. Oklahoma has stated more than once that they don't want to play Nebraska and Texas every year.
  18. Agreed, I love playing and watching football/soccer. While baseball on the other hand bores me out of my #%$@ing mind.
  19. Honestly...the only good interaction I have ever had with Big 12 North fans was with KU. Everyone else act like they were raised wrong.
