  1. It doesn't make much sense to me to drop NE to #25 and move VT up to #11 when we beat them everywhere but the scoreboard. Either we're underrated or they're overrated. The great thing about college football is we will find out what is what as VT plays Miami tomorrow.
  2. How about the heartbreaker to Texas in 06'? Pass to Terrance Nunn for the first down and the win. He catches the ball, gets hit and fumbles. Texas drives down and wins the game. I was at that game, cold as hell it was and a long day after to ponder another loss to Texas.
  3. I can't think of that game without yelling, "Fall down, fall down, fall down." I can't remember the player but if he fell down with that INT in OT we win that game.
  4. There's a lot of things that we could have done to win that game. I was saying when we were down by 7 that if we can go in and tie it up we need to go for two. I didn't think we could match them in OT so one chance for 3 yards and the win seemed like a good idea to me.
  5. I would like that. They really need to get to a bowl this year for the extra practice time alone.
  6. That's awesome. They guy probably was paid $100 to change flights and used it all on booze!
  7. I got 15, I did get Army but missed a few of the others. I thought Florida State would be on there with Bowden being one of the most winning coaches in NCAA.
  8. It feels like old Nebraska Football again after firing Callahan, getting Dr. Tom back and then the beginning of the Pelini era. The more I think about it the more I'm glad Cally is gone and the more I miss the option offense that Tom Osborne ran. It was truly a fun offense to watch.
  9. Last years tag line must have been, "get to the chopper"
  10. Frazier should be on the list. The run he did in the Fiesta Bowl where he ran over the entire Florida defense and went in for a touchdown should at least have put him in the top 25.
  11. I think Bo will stay longer than people think. My reasoning is mostly based on his relationship with Bob Stoops and having spent time in that organization. Bo was able to see first hand the type of success and longevity a coach can have at a University that supports him. Bo is also a big family man and the family atmosphere at Nebraska is a large pull for him.
  12. That coach was Les Miles. He was commenting on why he hired Pelini.
  13. I really like your analogy, I find it to be rather accurate.
  14. Callahan does deserve respect, it wasn't a lack of effort on the coaching staff that lead to this. From all accounts he works extremely hard which is why it's even more strange why this team has lost 4 in a row. By any account I'm not unhappy to see him go.
  15. That is darn funny, "He's a Minnesotan" priceless
  16. gratefulhusker, I know what you mean. It's games like this one that make me feel somewhat good about how the coaching staff got the players to play better. See this makes me feel as if perhaps I've quit on the coaches a little too early. Having said that I'll be happy when Callahan leaves the program as I don't feel this program can continue to make progress under him. The Cornhuskers made me proud once again today. It's the first time and quite a few weeks that I felt they played with great emotion and didn't quit even when they were down by 10 late in the game.
  17. It's disappointing to hear that our fans were leaving early, especially during this game in which I felt we were never out of it. I traveled to Nebraska to see them play Oklahoma State this year and I still stayed to the end.
  18. It seems that the only thing that people seem to remember about Watson is the 62-36 blowout in 2001. I don't recall his offense being mentioned as something special before or after that. I agree to give him a shot the rest of the year, however I'm really hoping we get rid of this prissy West Coast Offensive next year in favor of the spread offense which I believe is a good balance between the power option attack and WCO.
  19. Makes me wonder, since they are close friends, if the recruiting ranks were pushed up on our recruiting classes. I sure don't see any 5 star athletes showing it on the field.
  20. Even with all the issues I still get fired up for gameday. I want to see the Big Red step up and take it to them this week. I'll have my #7 jersey on with my hat and a beer in my hand. GBR!!!
  21. I believe Tom Osborne was an Offensive Coordinator that was hired in as a first time Head Coach.
  22. He was fired because of strong dissension within the Athletic Department.
