  1. Nice story. I got in the field in through the EXACT same gate the morning of the Mizzou game, so I got to be on the field in a completely EMPTY memorial stadium. A very weird feeling it is to be standing on the 'N' in the middle of the field with no crowd, no one on the field, it was like time was standing still.
  2. Personally I like the look of the white jerseys with the red pants. I just think it looks more clean and I like the red numbers on it. How about you?
  3. Texas wasn't #1 in 2006. And the UT game you're thinking of with the Alexander fumble is 99.
  4. I have a feeling Kiffin is going to be a terrible hire. Remember the last team that hired a coach that the Raiders fired?
  5. When I was 7 I was going to husker games and it wasn't very hard for me to understand the rules. Maybe since I had been watching the huskers with my dad since I was 4 or 5 so it wasn't too hard to figure it out. I remember during the 96 fiesta bowl when I was 5 I started yelling 'Tommie Frazier for president!!!'
  6. So are we 100% sure its the Gator?? If so then I would like to see Nebraska play FSU. I dont think we can beat GT since they run such a different type of offense, and I think that it would be hard for us to stop. FSU on the other hand looks beatable. I think we can win the bowl as long as we don't play GT.
  7. I was at the game on the west stadium on the 5 in the northwest side, so right by the uprights so I saw the ball sneak through. After the kick it was complete pandemonium, I was going crazy high fiving everyone and screaming and just thinking how freaking lucky we were to win.
  8. Wow that was a great game, I was cheering hard for KU for a variety of reasons: 1. Shared Big XII north title 2. Makes our victory over KU look better 3. I love seeing booger boy sad
  9. Its kinda like 05 where our last second loss to Tech kept us out of the CCG. But think of this way --- instead of getting our sh#t tossed by OU again or by Texas we instead played a top 10 team to overtime on the road. So maybe its better we aren't playing for the conference championship because our team just isnt there yet.
  10. Meh.... By the way, feel free to name another team in the north to know, as you put it...true greatness.....I direct you to your empty trophy case to try and refute that. As for this year, you may have scoreboard, but we have.... -improvement as 2008 went on -tradition -a college football atmosphere that is better when our University is successful -the potential for a 9 win season that feels good for the first time in awhile -a history of greatness, not some great years behind two great Qb's But hey its all good. At least Columbia isn't an armpit...... You're right, it's not anywhere near as bad as Stincoln... I have an idea. On December 6th, you can go to Lincoln and stare at the trophy case for three or four hours. It seems to be at the center of the Husker universe, the floating piece of timber you cling to as you drift in a sea of irrelevance. Call me crazy, but I always thought the action was on the field. Anyway, while you're at it you might also want to polish that most recent crystal football - it has 11 years worth of dust on it. I on the other hand will don my black and gold, go to Arrowhead and yell like a maniac for my team as they take the field to hopefully secure a BCS bid. Win or lose, I think I'll have the better time. "Husker Nation: Eight-track Lovers in an MP3 World..." Yeah like Mizzou can beat OU/Texas. They got blasted by UT earlier this year, I expect a similar fate next week. Also you can look at your trophy case----oh wait??? You don't have one??? Oh thats right your teams has never won any trophies!! Well then you can always hope that in the future they maybe better---however once Daniel leaves I expect the same mediocrity from Mizzery. Yes we have had some down years---who hasnt??? Oklahoma did in the 90's. Texas did also. A team cant win EVERY year. I hope in a few years we'll be on top of the north looking down on your team. Have fun getting killed in the Big XII title game.
  11. Hello, I have 2 spare tickets to the game this friday. They are in the north end zone, section 37 row 67. I will sell them for face value. PM or email me at blackflagnirvana@yahoo.com.
  12. I'm a student at UNL. In one of my classes 2 days ago I overheard a conversation between a couple girls who seemed to be on a personal level with some of the Husker players as they made it sound. When one asked why Glenn was suspended, what I heard was "apparently he was with a girl and she was pretty young, maybe underage". So thats what I heard, who knows how accurate it is.
  13. Wow....our 3rd quarter production numbers are ugly. Remember in 2006 when we couldn't seem to get any points at all in the 3rd quarter for like 5 or 6 straight games??
  14. Oh crap they got a pass, now they'll try a long FG......uh oh
  15. TD Orange!! Looks like we'll be going to the Gator Bowl once we beat CU.
  16. Werent we ranked in 05 after we beat Michigan?? We were 24th or 25th or something and 8-4. So I would assume 9-4 and beating someone good or decent could get us ranked. But we still have to play two more games so we'll see once we get our bowl game.
  17. Michigan - W 47-24 08 SJSU - W 35-12 08 New Mexico State - W 38-7 08 Va Tech - L 35-30 08 Missouri - L 52-17 08 Baylor - W 32-20 08 KU - W 45-35 So if my calculations are right I'm 45-15 overall record. Yeah I've been to a lot of games, yeah I had to look at Huskerpedia for the scores. I'm sure I've forgotten a couple blowout games I've been to but yeah thats the record.
  18. I don't think we will lose this weekend. I'm not saying its not possible for us to lose this weekend, anything is possible with a team as inconsistent as Nebraska. But I really don't think we will lose, I mean even last year with Billy C we pounded KSUcks. If Billy C can outcoach Ron Prince, then Pelini easily can. And now Prince is in the same position as Cally was last year, he is on his way out. His players don't care anymore, just like last years Husker team. I would be very surprised to see us lose this game on Saturday.
  19. No they were actually alright in this game. There was this one time where the KU QB shouldve got intentional grounding called but they didn't call it. But then after they discussed they called it. The Baylor refs would have never done that. The officiating wasn't bad this game, they called some penalties on Kansas, but of course we get penalties cause you know thats what we do. They were probably deserved.
  20. Well I think we should all move on from the disaster in Norman and start focusing on KU and how that will play out. KU ripped KSU's defense this weekend, I expect them to do the same to the Huskers. We will need to improve in a lot of areas if we want to have any chance. KU might not be as good as last year, but I still think they are more talented than the Huskers and have a better chance of winning than NU does. I think a win is possible, we probably have about a 1 in 3 shot of winning, as long as the offense clicks and doesn't turn it over, we limit penalties and win the turnover battle, and go on clock churning scoring drives. If we get in a hole early I think that we won't have a chance of coming back, we really need to start off strong with a TD drive on our first possession. Even after this weeks pounding I'm still hoping for the best, the players rebounded well after the Missouri game, so I am hoping they can do the same this week.
  21. 1. Our DBs need A LOT of work, however we have nothing to work with on this team, with Callahan's sh**ty players. 2. I agree about Castille, Lucky is actually OK but I agree that Helu is a way better runner, he can actually break tackles and run through traffic, where as Lucky falls down after the first defender touching him. 3. I read somewhere earlier on this board about that play "I'm just waiting for the defender to catch it and get a pick six". Then when it happened was at the worst possible time. I hate how we do that god damn play every first down, we seriously need to just run a curl route or run the ball. 4. Like it matters in last nights game. 5.
  22. Well you're technically not supposed to go on the field....however I woke up really early the day of the Mizzou game, and I went down to the Stadium around 7:30 A.M. There is a gate in the north stadium by where the handicap people are supposed to go in and the lock was not on it, so I just opened the latch and walked in, right past someone working there and onto the field. Your best bet for getting on the field would be in the early morning time.....go around gate 15 where the handicapped people go in and it may be open cause it was that one day. If not then you're probably out of luck, just hang around the stadium for awhile and circle it a couple times if you really wanna get on the field that bad. Well good luck have fun in Lincoln
