They key for us will be to put pressure on Brandon Cox, he has been very inconsistent when pressured this year. Good for us since pass rushing is our forte. Offensively we will have our hands full they sport a pretty good defense but they typically do not see the kind of offense we have and that might play out. Lots of short passes underneath should loosen them up a bit.

I don't think someone can say that Texas doesn't deserve a Cotton Bowl berth but I think 2 things happened, one is that Texas is not their best right now and the Cotton wants the best possible team and in their eyes they think it is us right now, not sure after last night but hang with me. Second, Texas has played back to back Rose Bowls, their fans spent a good deal of money and effort for those two trips and they may be a little burnt out on something other then a BCS Bowl. We on the other hand will bring a lot of folks to the Cotton Bowl, stay in their hotels, and eat in their restaraunts and they know this, for them, in terms of economics we are the safer bet.

Tough game, will we see the Auburn that beat Florida and LSU or the Auburn that looked mediocre against Georgia and Arkansas, there are easier matchups that is for sure.

and if Florida wins and Michigan beats USC in the Rose you will have a split title again because the AP will give out a different title if and when possible in order to destroy the BCS, thank goodness for the media every now and then.

In the modern era we won National Titles when we went undefeated. As for Colorado that whole game was bizarre, Mizzou did something to the field that turned it into an ice rink. Colorado's excuse at the time wasn't the field but that they called plays based upon down and distance and were unaware of the extra down, which is possible because coaches will tell you all the time, including myself, you look at the down marker and the chains on every play to determine down and distance and then call a play. Their real luck was how many teams lost the final 2-3 weeks of the season and how they vaulted upwards. I just took a look at their schedule that year and they were ranked 14th on October 20 and managed to jump up to #2 by November 17th, that is almost unheard of lately because you do not see that many teams ahead of you lose in the last month. Their big jump was when the beat us on November 3rd, they were #9 and we were #2 and obviously we lost.

Interesting thread, not too disimilar to what I had posted on the Boise State Fans thread about how their fans have no class. These kind of threads only make us look silly and childish, support our team, who cares about someone elses team or what they say or what ESPN says. About ESPN anyhow, you cannot find a single fan of any school out there that will tell you they get enough love from ESPN anyhow, it is their job to critique and analyze the matchups and just because you might disagree with their assessment doesn't mean they have no clue what they are talking about. These people are paid based upon the knowledge of college football, we might tend to want to argue a point here and there but the reality is that ESPN is not going to showcase complete tards on their shows.

Well outside of us you eliminate 1 of the 2 remaining programs in the North Division capable of any national recognition in football so you help castrate the North even more. I like back in '94 when Colorado thought they had a national title team and they were probably the second best team that year and we kicked their ass. It made our team even look stronger in the voter's eyes and made sure it vaulted our team into the National Title. I rather beat a strong Colorado or K-State team then the kind of team the puffs had this year.

Lots of players have had trouble after they left school, doesn't make them any less honored for what they did here. I am sorry that you are offended by my not willing to make fun of Boise State's accomplishments, I guess I am just old school and really do try to live up to our reputation.

I hope so... but I m not so sure. there is a lot of big 12 hating, and our bowl opponent is not going to be the best Won't happen, first off in the AP, if we beat OU that will be a huge advance for us by beating a Top 10 team, second, Florida or Arkansas will lose, another team to leap frog, third, Boise State is Top 10 and will even by higher after this weekend's fallout, so when we beat them we will have beaten 2 Top 10 teams not to mention some of the other Top 10 teams losing.

If we win the Fiesta we will be Top 10 so no worries about the polls for now.

Umm, I am assuming you are directing your post at me since I am the only one defending their potential BCS bid. Personally I do not believe they would go undefeated in the Big 10 or SEC, now depending on their schedule in the Pac 10 or Big 12 I would not rule them out. My reasoning is this, they beat Oregon State a Pac 10 team who beat USC which is poised to play in the BCS title game who beat the Big 12 North Champion. So I am not going to blindly discredit their season. Do I think we beat the hell out of them in the Fiesta? Probably so or at least by 2 Touchdowns, but I will not degrade what they have done just because the guy that got all those kids now coaches scum and I want to jump on the "I hate everyone that has the slightest connection to scum" bandwagon. I am a Cornhusker first but I am also a college football fan and I love the underdogs.

We can argue whether or not they have a chance to win till the sun comes up, my point was and remains though that they have done what they have been told to do which is go undefeated to have any chance whatsoever of having prominent post season implications. I also maintain that one cannot measure the quality of their fans by people trolling their own(Boise State) forums throwing out accusations of mediocrity and pansiness and then take their response as an indication of the quality of their fans.

and I read a lot of the posts that you were referring to about hicks and so forth and unfortunately they(Boise State fans) seem to be the ones getting provoked by people pretending to be Husker fans(probably scum fans) and Sooner fans.

Well let me first qualify my statement in that I am in favor of a playoff system based upon conference champions, so with that said, I do not blame them for thinking they should get a chance at a national title. The BCS system is incredibly unfair and afterall they did pummel Oregon State who beat the team(USC) that most likely will play for the National Title. Now before you bring up their conference and lack of quality teams I would remind you that the BCS locked out these minor conferences to begin with, in my opinion it is collegiate apartheid. If for some reason Boise State does manage to win their BCS bowl game against whoever they play and are undefeated at the end of the season then once again just like 2 years ago we will be denied the chance to see who is the best team of the year.

You could probably go to the Duke boards and navigate the 1000's of basketball posts to pick a fight with one lone 14 year old who believes Duke football is great, but what would be the point?

ESPN boards are a joke anyhow, full of flamers and trolls, personally I cannot stand other fans that go onto other boards just to create problems regardless of which school it is, it shows a complete lack of maturity. I like these kind of boards where it is modded and the trolling and flaming gets eliminated and we can actually discuss our beloved Huskers.

I saw several threads from Sooner and Cornhusker fans alike criticizing their schedule and their field and how they shouldn't even be getting a BCS bid, so how can one blame them for flaming back?
