  1. Let's not get too carried away on Rich Rod, it wasn't long ago that he shredded every document in his office...not sure what all the docs were, but I'm sure some were rather incriminating....
  2. Yeah but they all have 8 months to break down just us, whereas we have to break them all down!!!
  3. Yeah, Frank is such a "damn good coach" he is still stuck at Ohio....the ones that wear green, not scarlet and grey! I knew this would not be received well by many because it is impossible for them to seperate TO as HC and TO as AD, and forgot that sooo many people still wanted Frank as our HC... Sorry for bringing it up!
  4. You also completely ignored the fact that after retiring because he saw the writing on the wall and the power shift going south, he got into a position of power and made a historical decision for the university to shift away from the south....
  5. And by no means am I saying the Big 12 wasn't completely screwed up, especially the TV contract, BUT why not get the Big 8 schools back on our side of things and get in line to renegotiate the deal? After the scare of being relegated to the MAC or MVC or wherever, you don't think we could have gotten teams to see it our way and save the conference???
  6. Oh, so now no one has a problem with him naming his own replacement and said replacement being a massive bust??? Say what you want about Solich's record, those teams were getting progressively worse and worse every year... Anyways, I'm not going to argue whether or not Frankie Highwaters should still be here or never fired or whatever... I just wanted to open discussion on TO's decisions as AD. Naming his successor, naming asst coaches to another coaches staff, biggest move in school history...etc.
  7. ONE PROBLEM: Our WRs would have to make plays and score TDs to show off the "N"!
  8. I'm just curious to know when we are going to start holding Dr. Tom accountable...as an AD of course! I never have nor will I ever question him as a coach and leader of young men. However, I will most certainly question him as an AD. There are a few topics which I would like to open for discussion: 1 - Didn't Dr. Tom request Watson to remain a part of the staff when he brought on Pelini? 2 - The more I look at the Big 10/Big 12 debacle the more I question his vision! He was very clear in the mid 90's that the power in football was shifting south, rightfully so!!! What is 4 or 5 going on 5 or 6 straight national titles from the SEC??? So then, why would he want to move to the rust belt? Before you say money and prestige, let me remind you, that when we were rolling right, no one cared how bad the Big 8 was, and we made plenty of money by winning! It is quite clear that winning the Legends division will be much more difficult than the North. I digress.... 3 - Two words....Frank. Solich. So whether or not you agree with me on the Big 10 move, what makes you want to keep Dr. Tom as the AD? I'm just curious what everyones' thoughts are since the topic has never been breached....
  9. vs Tenn-Chattanooga - FAVORED vs Fresno St - FAVORED vs Washington - FAVORED @ Wyoming - FAVORED @ Wisconsin - SLIGHT DOG Ohio State - SLIGHT FAVE BYE @ Minnesota - FAVORED Mich St - FAVORED Northwestern - FAVORED @ Penn St - FAVORED @ Michigan - FAVORED Iowa - FAVORED I am getting tired of all the talk about how tough this schedule is. We asked for this for years, and now we got it! Does the Big 10 really scare anyone that much??? They just went 0-5 on New Years including 2 of the 3 "champions"! We will be heavy favorites in the first 4 and I think slight dogs or a pick'em AT Wisconsin. Then we will get OSU the following week at home. They will still be breaking in a bunch of new skilled position guys, because we all know they aren't coming back to sit out 5 games! Minnesota = Cake walk MSU graduates 25 or so players and a big chunk of those are starters. This was a magical year filled with "miracles", they are a perennial 7-5, 8-4 team with the occassional 9-3. Northwestern = see game plan and recent destruction of spread attacks, like Mizzou Penn State will be a "trap" game. They won't be that great next year but the energy will be electric. But again see game plan vs spread. We come out on top. Michigan is interesting. Harbaugh won't have "his" guys but will put together a respectable year, BUT the season will be getting loooooong at this point for the Wolverines and they will be more worried about securing recruits and beating OSU. Iowa = Cake walk!!!! Just joking, but seriously, they aren't a very good football team and I think they will begin a slow decline in the new format of the Big 10 because they wont be able to avoid 2 of the top teams each year. With all that said, I see us again finishing at 10-2 and winning the Bo "Pelini" division and squaring off with OSU from the Woody side in Indy, and losing...
  10. Nope, absolutely not! It was a zone blitz that obviously confused the hell out of both our guards! Then add in the fact Caputo got dumped on his ass it may have looked like they were letting him through, but they most definitely were not...
  11. I believe that was the problem when Wagner was here. Wagner wanted power blocking... blowing guys off the ball, instead it was finesse cat fight blocking. I think all of our offensive staff is doing things that are outside of their expertise. I don't know why we would waste our time asking coaches to go learn a new scheme and techniques when we could just go get a great, proven OC and let him put his own staff together! This could be the downfall of Bo Pelini's head coaching career...time to be a CEO instead of just a DC...the next couple weeks are a pivotal juncture in his career AND more importantly, our future success!!!!
  12. Not much of a Cotton family fan, but it's hard to blame him for Caputo getting headboarded and then Helu failing to help slow the rush....
  13. The question should NOT be who is his replacement, but rather, what has he done to warrant continuing as the OC at Nebraska??? My whole issue with Wats is his inability to instill an identity!!! What are we? What are our strengths? I am sick of all this "multiple" crap! Let's form an identity, recruit and develop to that identity and be successful week in, week out! Honestly, what coach doesn't deal with injuries? And what has he done to retain his current position????
  14. I drove from College Station to SW Austin in less than an hour and a half.... I'm not a NASCAR guy, but I'm pretty sure I can outdrive Jr. any day....
  15. Also, for those that will be in College Station on Friday...2 future Huskers, DB Charles Jackson and LB David Santos, will be playing for Klein Collins in the 2nd Round of the 5A Division I (Largest class) playoffs at 7:30 PM vs. Austin Bowie at A&M Consolidated High School. If you've never witnessed Texas High School football, or just want to check out a few future Blackshirts, I highly recommend taking in the game...they should get a chance to really shine and the game will not be in the balance for long. As far as Game Day goes, I've been told by many Aggie buddies that Northgate is the place to be before the game. If you are looking to tailgate, set up at the Basketball Arena... GO BIG RED!!! Oh and I'll be in the middle of the Maroon Mob in Section 210...
  16. Niles better pray Ahman keeps playing for the Nighthawks...otherwise, he will NEVER play professional football! The film he is putting together for NFL scouts is horrendous. Full of terrible decision making and even worse execution! Please give some young guys a shot these last couple games to get their toes wet for next season....
  17. How ironic...a guy posting about class with the tag "IH8CU".... Anyways, since no one else has brought this up...what if E-Mart were white???? Blake Gideon, S for Texas, has been flagged multiple times this year for "targeting defenseless players", yet has not received a suspension. And for all of you calling him a "thug", that is absolutely ridiculous...I guarantee if Marlowe or Compton did something just like this, nobody would call them a thug... Was Martin called a thug by the broadcasters? I don't recall hearing the announcers say that, but I do remember vividly them calling Asante a thug. I was referencing the Mizzou troll and others on this board...

  19. From the baseball people I have talked to, it would take some unfortunate circumstances for Bubba to end up playing college football! For the kid's sake, I hope he never plays a down of college football! Big money awaits...Best of luck to the young man!!!
  20. As you mentioned, he did it to mock us...that is the equivalent of /m\ "Horns Down"...which obviously would have resulted in a 15 yd penalty on us.
  21. Let's not get too carried away here.... ***BIG ASSUMPTION WARNING*** This article was written by a man who has never walked in T-Magic's shoes... The responses on this board have been written by men who have never walked in those shoes either... My response is being written by a man who has not walked in those same shoes....BUT As a former D-I athlete and multi-sport athlete in high school, I can personally say I feel this is one of the biggest knee jerk, over reactions I have ever seen. People are pretending they have psychology degrees and they had Taylor on their couch yesterday discussing his internal feelings and fears.... As a team leader, in whatever form, vocal, leader by example, etc, etc, the worst thing that can happen to you is losing control of the outcome. As a junior, I was pulled in a conference showdown because I had been coming off an injury and the coach wasn't sure what my limitations were, even though he had seen me for weeks and months at practice. Up until that moment, I was always a team first guy that never disrespected my teammates or coaches. But in that moment, as I approached the bench, I did not know how to handle the loss of control in the outcome of the game. I sent a 30 gallon trash can crashing into the team bench! I knew it was wrong the second the thought entered my mind, but I had never actually been removed from a game....EVER!!! Especially in a tough spot with the game on the line!!! With that said, I am not going to try and enter T-Magic's mind, but I thought I would add a little perspective and say that I know, on a smaller scale, what he went through on Saturday. As the most dominant athlete on the field, you always feel like you can lead your team to victory and carry them back. When that opportunity is taken away, I do not judge how a young man reacts, because I myself, did not react the way I should have, or even the way I would have 99.99% of the time. Here's to hoping we all learn something from this experience... DAY BY DAY, WE GET BETTER AND BETTER, TIL WE CAN'T BE BEAT... WON'T BE BEAT!!! GO BIG RED!!!
  22. Ok, so me, my bro and my in-laws are headed out west this weekend and we are wondering what the ticket situation is looking like... We were betting that UW would lose to BYU and drive down ticket demand but apparently more Huskers fans are going or UW just wants to be there in person when Locker loses his Heisman chances...hahaha Anyways, for anyone who is going and might have 3 extra tickets or anyone from Seattle that may have some inside info on scalping tickets, please let me know! Thanks, hope to see a great Sea of Red in Seattle!!!
  23. Guys, I have searched everywhere and called everyone I know that would have information like this and have yet to confirm or deny it. I have even emailed the radio personalities that made the statement. There were pretty fired up about it...started with typical Boise discussion, "sick of hearing about them acting like a little guy", "they need to step up and play someone", yada yada...He said he was glad Nebraska was able to lock it down and would be happy to see us roll them twice to shut them up! Will be interesting to hear where they got their info.... As far as the $1MM, I believe Va Tech ended up forking over $1.4MM for a one game deal. If Boise wants to play with the big boys, they need to accept a 2 for 1 deal or home and home series and not expect any cash in return. We didn't get cash for going to USC, UW, etc. And most likely by the time we would have room for them on the schedule, Peterson will have moved on and they will be back in obscurity...
  24. Just heard on ESPN Austin radio that we have secured a home and home series with Boise State... Any word back in Nebraska???
  25. After finding out more about the revenue sharing in the Big XII pertaining to the ESPN/ABC contract, I am all for playing one of the North Division games on a Thursday every year. Like many of you mentioned, it gives us a national spotlight game AND revenue from the ESPN/ABC contract that we otherwise would have lost out on because it would have been a FOX regional broadcast. I also like what we are doing to maximize revenue dollars from TV. 3 PPV games against the powder puffs, non-conference game against quality opponent will at least be regional if not national on ESPN/ABC, 1 Thursday night game, CU/NU after Thanksgiving, and either UT or OU on national TV. That gives us at least 4 games on ESPN/ABC (plus CCG, makes 5) and 3 PPV games which we dont split revenues with the rest of the conference. And typically, one of our other South division opponents' game will be on ESPN/ABC also. I think we have found a little niche to maximize our TV revenues....
