  1. WHAAAAAAAAAAAA I EXPECT MORE WHAAAAAAAAAAAA
  2. Do you not realize that you're doing the exact same thing the letter writer is doing? He never once said directly nor implied that Bo should act like Tom Osborne. He merely (and quite rationally I might add) explained that there are better ways to go about situations than Bo is currently exercising, and encouraged him to take a look at those ideas. Then you come on, acting all high-and-mighty, and totally misinterpret what he's getting at, but then echo his sentiments by saying "There are some things Bo has to do..." and "he's not going to change the way he does press conference over night", implying that he does indeed need to change, but that it will naturally be a process. He's saying we need to back off/chill out/stop being so obsessive. We tend to make things worse because we "care so much." I agree. It's getting weird in here.
  3. No, where we differ is that you have already passed judgement.
  4. Which seems like a wise PR move considering his lack of other options. Speaking of making assumptions...
  5. Just because it's an uninformed hit piece, it doesn't mean it doesn't have a national audience.
  6. This guy is a moron. As has previously been mentioned, Shawn Watson has been a "candidate" for virtually every coaching job that has come available within the last 2.5 months. In addition, Charles Jackson's dad has already publicly stated that his son's decision wouldn't have been influenced by the staff changes had they been announced before NSD. Furthermore, he admonished reporters who, like this jackass, blew that issue out of proportion in order to sell media. What exactly were Jackson's options? He had signed on the line. There was no way to back out. Of course he is going to say "oh yeah! Everything is fine!" Interesting how that conflicts with his initial reaction, isn't it? Perhaps it wasn't obvious enough for you. I'm not willing to give Chatelain the benefit of the doubt as far as how that interview was conducted. I really don't think we have enough information to go around calling Bo's integrity into question. Ah. Bo's integrity is beyond reproach but we must all assume that Chatelain is untrustworthy. That's awfully convenient. I'm not going to argue with you about Chatelain. Just consider the following: We don't know what questions Charles Jackson was asked. We don't know when the Marvin Sanders situation came to a head. Hell, we don't even know what the Marvin Sanders situation is. We don't know what Bo's legal obligations are when it comes to publicizing this kind of information (at least I don't). I think you should know the answers to those questions before you draw the types of conclusions that you are drawing. And I think it's even more ridiculous to criticize Pelini for not "disclosing" the fact that Shawn Watson was leaving. After 10 weeks of speculation about his status with the team (partly because of his inept performance, partly because he was actively interviewing with other schools), you can't possibly criticize Pelini for the way he handled Watson.

  8. This guy is a moron. As has previously been mentioned, Shawn Watson has been a "serious candidate" for virtually every coaching job that has become available within the last 2.5 months. In addition, Charles Jackson's dad has already publicly stated that his son's decision wouldn't have been influenced by the staff changes even if they had been announced before NSD. Furthermore, he admonished reporters who, like this jackass, blew that issue out of proportion in order to sell media.
  9. That means I get to be President! No, you see, the interesting twist here is that Barney Cotton will be President.
  10. We only ran like 5 or 6 plays in the Holiday Bowl. How much more can they simplify things?
  11. It's not a promise if you're not serious about it. Anybody who thinks Pelini was serious about having some guy who doesn't even know the playbook, personnel sets, etc. call a play in the middle of a bowl game is out of their frickin mind.
  12. They have to "simplify" the Senior Bowl offense for him. Sound familiar? Let's not get our hopes up. Starling is just as much of a liability as Martinez until he learns how to go through at least one progression on a passing play. Or at least be able to see a wide open receiver and then be able to throw the ball within 5 feet of him. The way QB play at NU has gone, I'm not expecting much until his 3rd or 4th year no matter how much raw talent this guy comes in with.
  13. I don't believe for one second that Pelini could have been serious about that. God this is so stupid.
  14. I didn't watch, but I'm guessing it stops abruptly in the middle and just cuts to static. Like right after the first quarter of the Missouri game.
  15. It's not like he was wrong about any of that sh#t.
  16. Bo embraces the history and the tradition of the program. He might not care about it, and he'll put his twist on it, but he doesn't ignore former players and history like Callahan did. There's a difference between not caring about something, and completely ignoring it. I'd say he actively shunned it. His offenses were hot/cold IMO. He lit up Ron Prince every year, but remember the USC games? Remember first half Okie Lite, vs second half Okie Lite in '06?
  17. What do you mean by 'change the culture?' Ceasing to suck. Accountability, consistency, confidence. Bo cleaned things up on D, but it doesn't seem to be translating on the other side of the ball. Maybe it's the wrong way to look at it, since whoever comes in will have to be on the same page w/ Bo. But right now I would say that the offense is completely rudderless. Getting an OC with a clue, much less a strong identity/forte would be a major change in culture at this point, IMO.
  18. He would just use the NU OC position to try and land a "bigger" job. He wouldn't stay long. I'm guessing he is thinking bigger than college OC in the short/mid term. But if he can change the culture and land some decent recruits in the short term to set up another guy, I'll take it.
  19. I spent most of the night with my head buried in my hands, so I might not remember correctly... but I would wager that we ran no more than 4 plays tonight. I defy anyone to list 5 unique plays that this offense ran tonight.
  20. I used to live in the north bottoms. That's gotta count for something.
  21. Bowl game isn't a conference game. We're stuck with the mark.
  22. What did they do to the opposing locker rooms at Camp Randall? Count me among those who are concerned about defending the run in the Big 10 w/ an undersized defense. I'm sure they'll figure something out in the offseason, but I expect some culture shock to a degree. I am starting to wonder how effective the Big 10 defenses will be against NU's speed, though. "Big" defenses are rarely "fast" defenses.
