  1. So is that like having 2 or more kids and only being able to love 1 of them?
  2. Since he's already committed and didn't have a ton of offers, he'll likely be a 4 star. Need those 5 stars to be uncommitted or going to schools with large populations of fans to drive up subscriptions. Tyler Moore had a ton of offers bud. Just rivals reports 14 including Florida, Ohio State, Michigan....that right there will give you 5 stars. I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up with 5 stars. Fair enough. I'm wrong about the tons of offers, but I'll be surprised if he gets 5 stars. Just have to wait and see.
  3. That might be the stupidest thing I've heard about recruiting rankings. So not having 3 guys on the roster is better than having them? Yeah, the class is obviously better if those guys don't have any chance to succeed than if they do. <sigh>

  5. Even if we don't land Owa, I would think the scholly would be saved for next year. Or maybe even used to give Marsh a scholly instead of a greyshirt. I'm all for line depth, but if the staff hasn't offered him yet, I'm not sure they're going to. The Owa thread is talking about that the NU coaches have told Simek that he can sign if Owa does not. And Simek may be waiting for word on Owa's LOI. It's all rumor and speculation right now.
  6. Both of these kids should be first round picks. Cooper reminds me of Asante and he is a senior in HS. Asante will be probably go 3rd or 4th round this year. I think you're putting the cart ahead of the horse for these guys.
  7. Wow, our OL coach took the time to go there for his signing. Now that's commitment.
  8. That's actually good news if true. We either get Simek or Owa. We have quite a few DE's already, so taking an OL might even be better for our depth. Well, nothing to do but wait it out and read the unending stream of rumors.
  9. Oh. I totally misunderstood the post about Aggies, and I forgot that Utah State is also the Aggies. I thought you were saying he was leaving Utah State for a different team named the Aggies. I'm up to speed now.
  10. Sorry to be the grammar police, but the word you're looking for is "assess" not "access". At least I hope. I've seen you use it a couple times, I wanted to throw a post in here, and there's nothing else to say about Owa.
  11. Guys, the kids are just SCHEDULED to be on the show tomorrow. It's just a phone call to interview them, so that's pretty easy to cancel last minute.
  12. This kid wouldnt redshirt. He would play. He would be a Gomes IMO where he hits his stride by Big 12 play. You dont bring in juco kids to RS. Wasn't that the story on Ricky Henry when he first got to Lincoln? I'll admit that a LB is much more likely to play early than an OL, but I'm sure if someone looked, there'd be plenty of JUCO's who used a RS. Keep in mind that picking up the defense and being mentally ready to take the field is different than pure athletic ability.
  13. His coach said in an interview is the best football player he has ever coached. I don't have the exact quote but I can find it. He will be starting or major playing time in my opinion. Seems every other coach says that about some player we're recruiting every year. I agree with melscott that he's unlikely to pick things up fast enough to play right away - even if he has awesome talent. I had high hopes for him coming in for spring but that didn't happen. I wouldn't be surprised to see him RS if the young LB's pick it up this spring and fall. On the other hand, we're thin on experience at LB, so a new guy does have the chance to come in and compete right away. And we can always use more depth, especially at LB this fall.
  14. We have plenty of young LB's to fill out the depth chart. LD's biggest assistance really is if he can come in and make an immediate impact as a starter or backup. That looked much more promising when we thought he'd be here for spring ball, but much less likely only having fall camp. While getting Lavonte would certainly help, he's not a make-or-break player for us, IMO.
  15. Is he a 2 for 3 or 2 for 2 guy? Sorry if I missed it earlier.
  16. Why not? I've heard the 2011 recruiting class is going to be bigger. Anybody know what the projected size of the class is?
  17. You might want to consider learning the difference between facts and suppositions. In fact, I don't see a single fact in that entire post.
  18. I think Bill Snyder proved at KSU that they both matter. However, based on his success at KSU, I'd give an edge to game planning. He started winning BEFORE he recruited better players. But he didn't move into the top 15 in the nation until AFTER he got much better players. In my view a bad game plan is worse than bad players, but great players are better than a great game plan.
  19. EZ, any speculation on who Crazy Joey might be? He's obviously Ganz.
  20. Agree on all points. And thanks for your service in Vietnam.
  21. who are we overthrowing? IT'S A REVOLUTION UP IN THIS PIECE! :nanalama Man, that's just coup coup.
  22. Oh, I know what he meant. I just don't think it's the staff that needs to learn a lesson here. I was intending to be both funny and have a message.
  23. I doubt it. The fans rarely learn anything. The same complaining will likely be heard next year.
  24. Man, this thread is bipolar. We're out. WE're in! We're out. We're in! etc. etc.
