  1. Looking for 3 Nebraska vs. Iowa St. or Nebraska vs Texas Tech tickets. PM me if anyone has some they would like to sell! Thanks!
  2. Cacti, can't believe you posted this since we beat you to the number one spot... I am so glad so many Husker fans get to experience our entrance in TWO WEEKS!!! We loved the atmosphere in Lincoln and we hope you will be as pumped in Blacksburg! I've experienced both (including actually running down the hill with the team at Clemson), and obviously I'm a little biased, but I was extremely impressed and intimidated by Enter Sandman. Va Techs entrance look freakin awesome! I'm sorry but that beats the tunnel walk for getting me pumped up! But thats just my opinion. South Carolina's isn't that good though IMO.
  3. FYI Mizzou's athletic site is opening up ticket sales for the Nebraska/Mizzou game in Columbia tonight at 6 pm. It'd be nice to have a large portion of Husker fans buy these tickets and have a good showing in Columbia. They talked about it on tigerboard and wanted to try to keep "nubs" out of the stadium. I'm going, hope a lot of others are too! Neb/Mizzou tickets
  4. http://ev9.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/S...r=&appCode= Mizzou is selling tickets tonight starting at 6:00 pm. We need to get people down there!
  5. Article 5. Matt Davison -- Nebraska wide receiver, 1997-2000 Hated by: Missouri, Michigan. Claim to Infamy: Davison was the previously anonymous guy on the receiving end of the flea-kicker, a pass that altered the course of the 1997 season. Trailing 38-31 against Missouri on the last play of regulation, the pass flew from Cornhuskers quarterback Scott Frost to wingback Shevin Wiggins -- who did not catch it, instead kicking it into the air as he fell to the ground. Davison then dove in out of nowhere to cradle the ball inches above the ground for the tying touchdown. Nebraska went on to win in overtime and share the national championship with Michigan, which would have had the title to itself if the officials had correctly called the play an illegal catch after the kick. Was the play really illegal is he did not mean to kick the ball? How can you prove on the field of play he meant to kick the ball? Sounds like a Missouri grad is still a little ticked off over this...
  6. Who cares about Steve Pederson. Let it go already.
  7. OMG, some people loved to rip on Cally when he was here and wanted him gone, now they can't stop ripping on him when they got their way! It's just ridiculous that his name should even come up at all anymore....
  8. Chill out, Dan. Even the NU site says "likely". And just because you can purchase tickets from Huskers.com, does not necessarily mean they've been "given their allotment". They could just be selling them from the same batch as GatorBowl.com is. I agree it is 95% sure, but I also think no one has fully considered the ramifications of a Mizzou victory. Nebraska did get their allotment of tickets. 12,750 tickets. That is what they are selling out of.
  9. The Gator Bowl already gave NU their allotment of tickets! Get over the paranoia of thinking it could change. The Gator bowl is not going to give the tickets to NU, tell them they can start selling them and then pick a different team. This is stupid speculation.
  10. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writ...ex.html?eref=T1 Hmm... wish it were Florida State or Miami. There are still ways that can happen. With how ridiculous the Big 12 has been this year, 4th place is pretty good for Bo's first year. Bowls are not obligated to choose their teams in exact order of conference standings. For instance, "ACC No. 3" means "third choice of ACC teams" -- not "the ACC's third-place team. - per Stewart Mandel on SI.com
  11. How about Nebraska hires every failed football coach on it's staff? Was Willingham a good recruiter? What is your basis in saying he'd be a solid recruiter? And his wealth of knowledge sure did him good as a coach. If he was a good recruiter he sure couldn't coach them, hence the record. Why on Earth would Nebraska want more dead weight on a coaching staff? Seriously.
  12. I don't think they should have gotten blackshirts at all. This blackshirt thing has been turned into not meaning much now. They still gave up 35 points to KU. What does it mean to hand them out with 2 games left in the season? Why give it at all? Take year to let the lack of blackshirts sink in. Now it seems they are diminished IMO.
  13. 1620 reporting Glenn is suspended indefinately for violation of team rules. Pelini offered no further comment.
  14. neither team should be ranked or receiving votes.
  15. Colorado does not have a baseball team, but I'm sure they outscore every Big 12 team in downhil and mogal skiing
  16. Are those the fundamentals of false starting, or holding, or personal fouls or not blocking up front against decent defensive teams? Just wondering.
  17. Absolutely not. I don't see any blackshirts getting handed out this year, period.
  18. It's really amazing how people can jump on the bandwagon at the beginning of the year, think the team will go 9-3, then after 3 bad games think the team won't even go 6-6, then after a win over an inferior opponent think Nebraska will go 9-3 again. I mean come on! These are the same fans who if they don't curb their expectations and realize it will take time to get to a 9-3 season will be calling for heads in about 3 years. It's comical.
  19. Also, people probably didn't want him to talk because they did not want their public university paying him to speak because of his past. Well they probably already had a contract and I'm sure he got paid in full for doing nothing. So who has the last laugh? UNL who looks weak or Bill Ayers who gets paid for nothing? At least the people in the state of Nebraska will be proud, but that's not who UNL needs to impress, they aren't worried about in state enrollment dropping. Good for the state of Nebraska for having a weak university that does not promote intellectual freedom. Sorry, this hits a button with me...
  20. Should not have uninvited him. This is sad. A university is supposed to push the envelope and give it's students every opportunity to learn more about the world around them and UNL droppen the ball on this one. Gave into too much political pressure. And to think, this would not even be an issue if the election wasn't going on. Nobody would know or care that Bill Ayers was speaking at UNL......sad.....As was said above. This is much more embarassing than the original invite! GET A BACKBONE! It feels to me like some of the far right wing people that have their hands in UNL's business are afraid of change or differing views and then silence the freedom of speech instead of letting the guy talk about what he has done for education.
  21. I win. Now I'm going fishin'. Send me the winning check in the mail.
  22. I grew up in South Central Nebraska and that part is about as republican as it comes. I'm sure most of the rural part of this state watches O'Reilly. This rural part of the state is also a major part of the UNL fanbase. Do you really think they will push UNL aside because of something O'Reily or Rush Limbaugh might say? I doubt it. They will be mad, and they can be mad, but it won't change anything. This is just something for these blowhards to gripe about and when this election is over Ayers will not be heard about again. It's an attempt by the republican media to draw the attention away from anything that has to do with governing this country and trying to make a huge ordeal out of an acquaintance that has not bearing on the issues this country faces today.
  23. Freedom of Speech. The fact that Ayers may not have had popular views against his nation and that he can STILL go out and talk is what this nation is all about. He's talking about his academic life and not his past life with the Weather Underground anyway. The SNL skits about the presidential candidates and President Bush, Letterman, Leno any comedian that makes fun of politics is exactly why this is the GREATEST nation on earth. The U.S. allows it and encourages it. You would never see this stuff in China, Iran, etc. It was said earlier, you do not have to agree with the views of the individual but you do have to allow them the right to express them, just as you have your right to express your views. Bring Ayers in, let him talk about his work, and let the protesters who will inevitably protest the event do so. It's the American way!
