  1. I know. Can't wait for the spring lull. At least we don't have to worry about the coach this off-season. A Grapefruit Spring Training League. That would be bliss Trucker
  2. Yeah Man. I saw it and you could tell he was just reading it off the telepromter. Don't get me wrong I'm true and true Red but I don't think Bo should be conf. coach of the year. Has done little to prove worthy of the honor and to hear May say this shows me May has no idea what he's talking about. Beggers can be choosers right?
  3. I hope so. There is no way he should be playing D-1 football. But you have to give the guys props. He works hard, and has shown what it means to be a husker with his dedication. Reminds me of a west coast Matt Turman. He deserves at least one series. Has shown to be a true competitor.
  4. If he comes here I think Ganz, is his backup. There is no need for Keller so he goes else where. But from what we have all seen from Freeman he seems to lack that extra something that you need from a QB. I think we should take some solice that he didn't come. Challahan would probably still be our coach. Last year we could have been 8-4 7-5. With hindsight being 20/20, Challahan would have been exposed either way he just could have had an extra year to dig us further down. KSU 08= Capable offense with Zero defense. Look Familiar.
  5. Potter has become a true husker this season. The way he has stepped up this season, brings back shades of Wistrom. God Damn it feel good to have a competitive team again.
  6. Manhattan is 2 1/2 hours from Lincoln. Tickets were going for 30$ at one time this week. I'd say there will be more than a few of us there to watch Freeman stay O for Nebraska.
  7. I think it bears repeating but we had 11 takeaways all of last year. Personally I think they are doing well.
  8. My cousin (a hokies fan from Virginia) commented on how "wierd" it was, because everyone was incredibly nice. He said you don't get close to that on the East coast.
  9. I'm kinda with your there, but It isn't easy to run the ball without alot of practice time. However this dunk and dive crap is costing us rhythm. This "Nebraska" offense Watson chats about will take time and experience, but we also have to realize VT came to play and we didn't If there is something to be concerned it's this. The VT sideline was organized and calm, this is the visiting team mind you. Nebraksa's was a zoo. Players running everywhere, delay of game penalty's, POOR clock management. player's running into formation's late. From the stands some moments just looked like a chinese fire drill, all the while VT is waiting for us. I'll chalk it up too inexperience, but for VT to come into town and look as organized as they did compared to the Skers, that's got to be first on the agenda of things to fix.
  10. To answer your question. I was at the last game and got through with a flask. Put it in my cargo pant and walked through. The only time I was ever patted down to get into a game was in 2001 vs. Rice, and that was for obvious reasons. If your going to be with a buddy have him go in first and scope it out. Remember the key to sneakin things in is be cool even if you get caught. I have been caught a couple of times. If you play it cool most times (assuming your 21) they will just make you throw it out. Once they told me to go home, so I just switched tickets with a friend and went to another gate. If you make it discrete 99.9% of the time you'll get in, just dont be a rookie about it. And I almost forgot. Many times you can't take in opened bottles, so If you pull a switcharoo wait till you get inside.
  11. Yikes, I go to the games for less than that. Thanks though.
  12. Anyone willing to part with their spring game tickets, or have any extras they are willing to get rid of. I am looking for two of them. I planned on getting them Wednesday when my pay check went through but by the time it did tickets were sold out. Any help is appreciated.
  13. Id say that the square peg is smaller than the round hole though, it fits the hole but theres still excess room (room to grow). I don't know whether this will work out or not but, we need guys like this on our team. His attitude will have trikle down effect on the other players. I am liking this move because it shows that Pelini is open to getting the best players on the field and unlike Cally not just the ones that are supposed to be the best. And as far as Glenn is concerned I hope he does as others have said "lay the wood" he deserves it after the injuries and the false promises.
  14. Husker fan seeing red. I understand its a business move and for the greater good, and they gave him an option to move, but with all this restoration going on i hate to see something like this. Guess the grand kids will have to sit with the students now.
  15. I gonna go out on a limb and say yeah...I wish i could understand what in the world he wrote
  16. 1st Game at Memorial Stadium 1991 Kansas. Was a youngster but i remember it being very, very cold on my toes. I had been to games before that my first being when i was one year old in 86, but as i dont remember who we played or anything about the game i cant count it. Best Moment The last 3 Texas games. Have really given me some respect for them as a team, although they have broken my heat everytime. In 02, i remember some Texas players gathering by the North stadium tunnel on the field, showing some appretiation to our fans as they ,the fans, were doing their usual applause after the game. That made me realize i root for a special team. Specifically in those games the crouch fumble, the Groce punt return, and the Nunn fumble. In a win, Tommie O's 250th, like huskerguy said, the rainbow, god damn was that awesome. Best Game Kanas St. 1999. Loudest i have ever heard memorial stadium. Kanas came in talking smack and it ended being a blow out of magnificent proportions Say, i dont hear it much about it but does anyone remember when Baron Miles took the ball off the foot of an Oklahoma St. punter in the end zone. Thats probly one of my favorite husker plays, but it gets very little mention and alot of people i talk with about the huskers dont remember it. Just curious.
  17. I think everyone is in agreement with Colorado. But what i find funny are the last four. They pose a threat to nobody so there is not really an opinion of them even though my personal list would have O.K. st. in the top five.
  18. He opitimized (sp?) what it means to be a husker. Reguardless of era he is one of my all-time fav's. I think he has a coaches mind, and also wish him the best.
  19. I know its going to be another very very long offseason. Waiting and all
  20. Even if both games were scheduled on the same day i would still watch OSU v Mich. Both teams are as tradition laden as the other. And there is a stigma to the game. Is this where we have come in football......Its freaking #3 KU and #5 Mizzou. A storied loser vs. a storied choker. Dont get me wrong it a big game for two good teams, but they owe some of their success to our being down.
  21. Money talks with todays game. Which why i am surprised the everyone is so opposed to a playoff. You have the 4 major bowls Rose, Fiesta, Sugar and Orange. Take the top 4 teams in BCS Standings to playoff for championship. Fat Cats still have say in who "best team" is. Winners play for title. Its only one extra game for each team, and a an early or late season loss still hurts making each game still as important. Then you take numbers 5 and 6 and have them play in the remaining big bowl, this would allow smaller programs to still make the leap to the big time. Play out the rest of the bowl season for teams qualifying. Its win win. Big money is made on extra hype, and players are still rewarded for achievement. I am a fan of the bowl system, but with the idea that the BCS was created to pick the best teams to play for the title, and not giving a chance to Boise St. or maybe even Kansas( we'll see how it plays out) because they dont market well, or have played a weak schedule is just Wrong. If we have learned anything about football this season, my fellow huskers can atest, its that chemistry and drive beats talent and scheme. However, before any change are made Notre Dame would have to join a conference. So it probly wont happen.
