  1. I guess its never to early to start drinking in Missery. Wow.....I havent ever read slurred speech before, but that is brutal. Can someone give this guy a coffee..........without grandpa's cough medicine in it. Tuffie its only 8 a.m., you need to lay off either the drinking or the drugs, or how bout both. I know it is difficult to speak correctly when you only have 3 teeth, but the least you could do is put together something of a cohesive thought on paper.
  2. Man, everyone must be dumb struck. If your unable to say "Fire so and so" there must not be anything to say.
  3. I like the B****** idea, however there seems to be alot of pushback on it..........So i will be willing to compromise and go with a black towel.
  4. I think you have some good ideas, maybe no one disagrees with you. 1. Really the only change i can think of to make an immediate impact would be to move Culbert to an outside linebacker position, we need to be faster on the edges, he maybe a little undersized but speed beats size anyday at linebacker. I think this would open up tons for us. He would be able to drop into coverage like a DB, also he would have speed to blitz from the outside. 2. I would have to agree with allowing castille to get more carries, because lucky certainly does not have the durabilty nor the stamina to carry the load. I think we need to run more play-action with castille in the game. Every time he is in the defenses have sold out to the run. I can only think of one time we ran a mis-direction with him in the game and he ran over a DB and almost scored. It was a 20 yd play agianst ball st. 3. I would like to continue seeing the TE getting involved in the game more. There is enormous amounts of opportunity if you have a good TE. Hopefully what we saw from Hill in the Ball St. game will continue. Things we do well 1. Pass protection, with the exception of USC. Keller seems to have all day to throw and he is continueing to improve, i like how he steps up in the pocket. Although there have been a few times i would like to see him move out of the pocket to avoid trouble, but i think that comes with getting used to game speed and trusting your linemen. 2. Receivers have really impressed me. There have been less dropped passes with each game we have played. The timing between Keller and the receivers seems to be clicking. 3. Clock managment. This goes back to Keller, he is going to the sideline making sure he gets the play and we are seeing less delay of game penalties.
  5. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Remember how good Turner and McKeon were when they were underclassmen.........now they laid an egg. Lets wait and see how they do before we annoint them as anchors. Although i would love to see dillard step out from the crowd and fire up this pathetic D.
  6. Yes, they are doing well. Honestly, a mobile QB like Meyer scares me. We've historically not been good with mobile QB's. I dont know what the deal is with that either, why do we struggle so much with it? Is it the speed factor that we dont have enough on defense? Meyer doesn't really scare me that much, he is mobile to an extent, but he really isnt that fast. He doesn't like to scramble, but if he has to he will squeak out of the pocket, but its not like he has burning speed.
  7. I dont know how OC is doing, but im sure they look better on the field as well as on paper than "tissue"
  8. What have you been reading? I know of no fans calling for a change back to the option. The main coach people want fired is Coz. Changing the offense back to the option really has nothing to do with Coz or the D. I believe Florida runs an option attack. Yeah, it's a spread option but an option none the less. There's lots of teams running a spread option now. Florida doesn't seem to be having any problems getting recruits running their spread option. The old tradition fans want back is a dominating defense. We want the blackshirts back, and we want it to mean something. We want players with a burning desire to bust their ass on each and every play. These are the old traditions we the fans want back! Totally agree. I dont know that people are calling for the option, they are calling for the defense to return to half of what it used to be. IMO we need a coach from within the family who understands what the blackshirt means. This is the first year where there are no guys left from the old regime. Now we are seeing a group of defensive players who never understood what the blackshirt stood for, and look at what we've got. They have disgraced it, i would equate it to burning the american flag (that may be a little over the top). The players expect the shirt, not respect the shirt. Wearing the blackshirt is NOT a right, its a f*ing privelage.
  9. how did this thread go from a guy flaming NU to an argument over correct grammer. This just goes to show how divided we are as a fan base. Rather than everyone piling on this dousche, we fight amongst ourselves over what the proper usage of the word "is" is. Everybody needs to start acting like 3rd graders instead of college edumacated grammer folk, its much more fun that way.
  10. I thought i ran this guy off a few weeks back, obviously he is looking for trouble. Cyclown Clyde tried to tell us that Bret Meyer was going to be 1st All-big 12. I laughed so hard i messed myself. This guy is hilarious. He is a seasonal fan with no football knowledge what-so-ever. He tried to smack us for having a team "ducted taped together with JUCO's", I guess he didn't look in the mirror. ISU probably has more JUCO's than 4 yr recruits.
  11. I am really embarassed to say this, but I am worried about this game. At the beginning of the year i was looking forward to it because, i am going to it with my wifes family who are all ISU honks. I was looking for us to hang 50+ on them. Now after I see how horrendous our defense is and the way ISU got up for the Iowa game i am scared. This is ISU's second super bowl. They care more about beating Iowa and NU than the rest of the season. Their season is already a great one just because they beat Iowa. I just hope our guys arent looking at them as easy targets and get sucker punched when ISU shows up to play. But i would think that type of thinking would have left their minds after last week, but you never know i guess.
  12. I think i have had enough of the fermented koolaid, if i keep it up i am going to vomit and wake up with a hangover.
  13. Sorry.........I was just shocked by that stat. Plus i didnt think people were talking enough about the defense, they have been kinda flying under the radar.
  14. I know that we changed our offense to a west coast style but i didn't realize there was a west coast defense as well. We are giving up the exact same amount of yards on the ground as we are in the air.....thats what i call balance.
  15. Where did you get the koolaid your drinking?...........It may have fermented and I want some.
  16. Yeah seriously. I got confused thinking the guy was talking about Steve Peterson or whatever when I knew he meant Peter. How can anyone- even a husker fan- forget to spell the names of the legendary players of the great years? :-/ I dont know, but it pisses me off to no end and I had to say something.
  17. His name is Peter, not Peters, not Peterson..........its PETER as in Peterbuilt. If we are going to talk about husker greats of the past, show some respect and get the last name right.
  18. it takes a big man to come back and say he regrets saying something negitive. i hope that NU fans are big enough to forgive him Why wouldn't I? He's played better ball on D than most, anyway. It's funny, yet sad...he spoke out of frustration and emotion and apologized and is moving on...meanwhile, the 'lynch mob' on here has barely began to hold a grudge, and is trying to dismantle this season as fast as they can. I doubt you'll see any apologies from the hatemongers... Oh wait, yes you will...if the season goes well, all will be forgiven. True. True. Its the winning is everything mentality. Read my signature. It seemed to do pretty well for a guy name Lombardi.
  19. I figured this would happen at the begining of conference play. They needed him on the offensive side for non-conference to make sure we had some depth while the freshmen picked up the offense. Now that we have a couple freshmen that have gotten their feet wet Culbert can go back to contributing at his proper position.
  20. Red should be real intimidating to ISU..................considering that is the same color their stadium is on gameday. I think it is a perfect time to switch it up, besides the fact it may inspire the defense to show up.
  21. Student section = B****** OK Whole stadium B****** = dumb. Rather than "Just Say No" which is something you tell little kids to say to drugs, give me a reasonable explanation as to why. Back up your opinion with something.
  22. I guess i dont see the issue with turning the stadium into the "BLACK HOLE" for one game. I haven't heard one valid argument as to why we shouldn't. Just because it is tradition to wear red doesn't mean for one game you cant change it up. The ability to change the stadium color to a whiteout or a B****** would show how united we are as a fan base. I think it would show the team how much unity we have, and may transpire to the field.
  23. Um, I hate to break it to you, but I think a stadium-wide B****** isn't a good idea. And I'm glad we're not running the option anymore. Oops. Why is a stadium wide B****** not a good idea? What is the problem with it?
