  1. I agree with this, was just confused by the wording of your post a little.
  2. Kinda makes it sounds like the urgent care is responsible..?
  3. When you're the leader, you're always responsible. You know that, anyone that runs a good business or coaches a team or has humility and has people look up to them knows that. You hire someone bad and they f#&% up, that buck ultimately stops with you. At least good leaders are like that. Trump's inaction and lies are the primary factor in what will end up as tens of thousands of deaths.
  4. I haven't had a chance to look into the Biden allegation yet, but the first headline I read was that the accuser tried giving the story to Time's Up, and they didn't want it. Since their whole mission is to expose sexual assault on behalf of powerful men, that immediately made me skeptical as to the story's reliability.
  5. The number of people it matters to who aren't already decided to vote against Trump is very small. He has a 45% approval rating. It's gone up since the virus outbreak. That 45% is enough for him to win 2020 with good strategy and an advantage of gerrymandering. And those people clearly don't see or don't believe or don't care about the remarkably easy to point out ads/media showing Trump's incompetency.
  6. This doesn't matter. It's always been easy to point at Trump's incompetence, and things haven't been great from the start. People still support him nonetheless. We have to stop thinking this matters in regards to Trump.
  7. Trump isn't personally in charge of the numbers of verified deaths that are feeding the different tracking sites. You don't have to actively try really hard to make every single thing about Trump every time.
  8. Unless something is done in the 4 to (unlikely imo) 8 years about: • gerrymandering • voter suppression • stacking conservative judges • the poison of fox news • the ease of social media spread in a post-truth era Then we won't be stopping a movement by defeating Trump and electing Biden, we'll just be pausing it. If the ideas are valid but none of the above get solved, it also doesn't matter if the ideas are valid, they will never materialize.
  9. One thing that bugs the hell out of me is media not being willing to clearly and bluntly state the truth to/with/about Trump in person. They'll write a headline, "Trump lies about _______", but when they ask Trump a question, they leave it open-ended for him to squeeze out of and improvise and shift. Why can't the question be, "Mr. President, why did you lie to the American people when you said ______?" Hell, don't even phrase it like a question.
  10. I guess I agree with actualcornhusker - the media are making it 100x worse
  11. Trump loves the uneducated and they love him.
  12. Yeah that's a big part of why it's being held up. Because poor people would only get $600.
  13. Naturally the "we" here doesn't include the thousands dead or with ruined businesses or losing their job and healthcare and savings. But yeah everyone else will get through it easy enough.
  14. The growth rate has more or less hit a stage of 10,000 new cases per day and 100 new deaths per day. We're up to 504 deaths and 41,569 cases. The scary thing is, you'd expect the cases number to rise at an exponential rate over the deaths as more and more people get tested and documented. But the opposite is currently happening, we're getting more deaths per case now than we were a week ago.
  15. Opinion pieces, editorials, personal views of people who work in media, etc., none of this is "reporting". So which is it, the media, or the media reporting? First thing you link doesn't give context. Second thing you link makes a claim with no source or proof or context. Third is an opinion piece, not reporting. Fourth is actual real news and isn't misleading or sensationalized. Fifth isn't 'the media', it's Hillary Clinton's twitter. The sixth is a screenshot of a factually accurate headline, and then a sourced assessment from a qualified expert. Seventh is a columnist's personal twitter thoughts. She's conservative too, funny enough. Eighth is, again, an opinion piece. Ninth is some perspective of satire comedy. Tenth is unclear what if anything it is. Two of the things you linked were "reporting". Neither "made things worse". Most of the other things didn't "make things worse" either. At least if you're gonna be angry at the bad irresponsible media, be non-partisanly angry about it and include some conservative media propaganda and flat out lies too. Try to be even remotely consistent.
  16. Or the recipients of 'charity' from the Trump Organization
  17. Why would wee assume that? We're currently at a mortality rate a little higher than 100 per 10,000 (22k cases, 288 dead). Your math assumption doesn't work unless you think there's another almost 2.8 million people out there that currently have it right now, aren't tracked or known, and nobody else dies. If you go by actual projections and/or reasonable assumptions of the math, you're still nowhere in the ballpark of realistic math yet.
  18. Here comes the retort about how much bigger we are than Italy. (important disclaimer on that graph is that Italy has 800+ tests per million people, while we currently have 5. So the actual numbers for both are higher, but ours are disproportionately much higher)
  19. I've heard from four different people with friends/family in the government to expect a nationwide lockdown with no travel or leaving home except for emergencies starting either monday or sometime early next week.
  20. Responsible, capable leaders look to combat fear, ignorance, and bigotry and work towards educating and calming the country; not trolling them. Even if the "media and the left" are buying into some propaganda hysteria, the President's job is not to antagonize but to be a sensible voice. You continue to focus on the wrong problems.
  21. Personally I haven't seen anybody boycotting pizza but I've seen plenty of people refusing to eat Chinese food ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  22. Trump clearly does, and there's an interesting question as to why.
  23. Be that as it may (and that is true), I doubt they had the teleprompter saying "corona virus" or "covid 19" and then switched it to say intentionally and specifically say "chinese virus" instead.
  24. nobody feels sorry for him people are just laughing at how dumb your comment of coaches only working 8 months out of the year is.
  25. The most important thing you can have as a human outside of food and shelter is social comfort and belonging. Some people find social identity in groups defined by their rebellion or skepticism. Somewhere along the way it becomes irrational and goes too far, but nobody is willing to see it, because they stay safe in their group by continuing to rail against government/authority/experts/mainstream knowledge, and they get a positive feedback loop system going to constantly reaffirm their own correct thought.
