  1. I'm going to contrast the '07 season and the '08 season: Rushing stats from 2007: Runs resulting in 1st downs.. 89 RUSHING YARDAGE............ 1733 Yards gained rushing........ 1939 Yards lost rushing.......... 206 Rushing Attempts............ 417 Average Per Rush............ 4.2 Average Per Game............ 144.4 TDs Rushing................. 19 2007 Rushing Stats Rushing stats from 2008… Runs resulting in 1st downs.... 113 RUSHING YARDAGE............... 2207 Yards gained rushing........ 2509 Yards lost rushing.......... 302 Rushing Attempts............ 486 Average Per Rush............ 4.5 Average Per Game............ 169.8 TDs Rushing................. 27 2008 Rushing Stats So what do these numbers mean? There was improvement in... * The number of 1st downs by rushing * The total amount of yards gained * There was an increase in yards per attempt * The average yards per game went up * They scored more rushing TD's So there you have it...improvement in running the football in practically every category but you don't see any difference between the former OL coach and Coach Cotton. You said yourself that you can bend stats any way you want, but you're acting like yours are just absolute and can't be bent. I don't really see how those stats have any sort of weight at all, given that a) we were playing from behind a lot and B) even when we weren't, callahan just aired it out to help out his resume (510 yards and 7 touchdowns comes to mind...)
  2. I made 2010 rosters on NCAA 09 today and I'm going to be playing through our 2010 season schedule and see how it all turns out. Will try to post video of all the games I play. Florida Atlantic University - 9/05/2009 Not much to say here. The Huskers imposed their will against the lesser Owls, scoring when they felt it was necessary and only giving up three 'true' points to the Owls (not counting a touchdown in the fourth quarter against a second team prevent defense). Zac Lee looked mighty impressive in his opening debut as the Nebraska quarterback, completing 15 of 17 passes (88%) for 227 yards with three touchdowns and one interception against, while also rushing for 33 yards on seven attempts with one touchdown. As good as Lee performed, however, it was the brilliant play of Roy Helu Jr. that got the most notice, and deservedly so as he slashed through the FAU defenders en route to 139 yards on only nine carries (15.4ypc). The first play from scrimmage was an 84 yard run to the outside by Helu. He finished with two touchdowns on the ground, and also had two receptions for 30 yards. The receivers/tight ends shared the load very evenly, as Menelik Holt and Mike McNeil tied with three receptions each, for 45 yards and 26 yards, respectively. Niles Paul hauled in two balls, both for touchdowns. Antonio Bell had two receptions for 33 yards, Marcus Mendoza had one reception for 11 yards and Ndamakong Suh also had a reception going for three yards (just short of the goalline). Anthony West led the defense with eight tackles, with Larry Asante and Mathew May each recording five. Pierre Allen had two tackles for loss, and Suh only finished with one tackle (being double-teamed the entire game). Colton Koehler had the only turnover forced by the defense, snagging an interception on a screen play. Final Team Stats: Score: NU-49 - FAU-10 First Downs: NU-16 - FAU-14 Total Offense: NU-433 - FAU-225 Rushing Yards: NU-206 - FAU-23 Passing Yards: NU-227 - FAU-202 3rd Down Conversions: NU-5-6 - FAU-1-8 4th Down Conversions: NU-1-1 - FAU-1-1 Red Zone - TD - FG: NU-4-4-0 (100%) - FAU-2-1-1 (100%) Turnovers: NU-1 - FAU-1 Videos yn7n_XXooBE o4a98jFwMZk XaylwMLNptM yW8xRdo-AsA YYFUaZuFguc
  3. When you guys upgrade the software, can it be to vBulletin pweeeeez?
  4. Ok, I can see us offering him if Bo thinks he could add depth and compete for the starting job, but he's probably going to want to go somewhere he's pretty much guaranteed to start since he only has his one year of eligibility, and I don't see that being the case here. He'd have to learn the playbook even faster than Green. Nobody really knows his intentions, but this is my best guess. 1. He wants to go somewhere where he has a chance to compete. As far as I have seen this kid is a competitor and doesn't want to just be handed the starting job (not sure on Syracuse's quarterback situation so I can't comment on theirs). 2. He wants to go somewhere that would be the football equivalent of Duke. Syracuse? Uhhhh... 3. He wants to go to graduate school in some sort of journalism field (reports of him touring through the Journalism building on his visit). From what I've heard, Syracuse is actually the most prestigious in the country in this regard. 4. He isn't an idiot, and an idiot is what he would have to be if he expected to start but was still considering Nebraska. 5. He wants to go to a school that will prepare him for a possible career in the NFL, whether as a back-up or a starter, Nebraska would most obviously and definitely be that place ahead of Syracuse.
  5. TO said himself he was not interfering with the program, and that he would offer Callahan some advice if Callahan asked him for it but otherwise he was just an observer who just happened to have the power to decide the head coach's fate.
  6. If only you knew....I dont think Pelini even know the offense's playbook. Bo does seem to let Watson run his own show, but I'd have to say recruitng Green, implementing more spread option etc. (not the type of things Watts did at CU) seem to indicate Pellini's desires as carried out by Watson. Secondly, I've heard coach P say on the Bo Pelini show that they do break down film together and share ideas. Huskertim is right, HuskerBCS. Pelini is involved in the offense and Watson is involved in the defense, just not a whole lot. Pelini, unlike Callahan, has the entire team in perspective instead of just stockpiling talent on one side of the ball. A lot of the changes that they put into the O last year can be attributed to Pelini's desire to make the O more multiple. He said it when he took over, he wasn't going to dictate what overall scheme Wats would run but he did know what was hard to defend and wanted to add certain elements to the O gameplan. The Zone Read is NOT a WCO play that Wats would have put in otherwise. The zone read was implemented in 2007 for the Colorado game, before Bo Pelini was involved in the program.
  7. That isn't anywhere close to the reason we would take him. That's all.
  8. But if we go to the Big XII, then we aren't leaving, we are just turning a different conference into the Big XII, at least when looking at number of schools involved
  9. Sure, let me know what system and who you want on it.
  10. You guys this thread is about WINNING AN INTERNET POLL, not about Greg Paulus.
  11. Don't care if you don't like Paulus or don't want him here, we have an internet poll-related reputation to uphold! http://espn.go.com/college-football/
  12. We had a good defense in 2006. Definitely not 'defensive mastermind' good, but it was pretty solid. The last two games of the year we played championship caliber defense if you ask me.
  13. Would you shoot out a private email with hints and/or info?
  14. If I don't get too busy I might try helping out as well.
  15. That article is drivel and full of assumptions and libel (or is it slander). I don't like what the guy did more than anyone else, but at least I try being fair to him in retrospect.
  16. Very good idea. "For if somebody sees you, the one who has this knowledge, dining in an idol's temple, won't his weak conscience be encouraged to eat food offered to idols? Then the weak person, the brother for whom Christ died, is ruined by your knowledge. Now when you sin like this against the brothers and wound their weak conscience, you are sinning against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to fall, I will never again eat meat, so that I won't cause my brother to fall."
  17. I don't claim to know what is truth in this whole thing, but this is what I have heard being truth. 1. If he did get suspended for selling tickets, it would have been an NCAA violation that had to have been reported. 2. As some of you know, there are a good number of posters on the Rivals messageboards that have inside knowledge about the program, and there have been several who have had posts deleted, personal cease and desist messages from the mods and the like and all are very obviously hinting that it was in fact statutory rape. Three quotes from said posts are: "...post here but i've received way too many "we need to talk" emails from _____ to risk it" "...was for selling tickets ... had to forfeit games ... huge investigation that we would have heard about." "...there is a father out there who personally met with TO ... disagree with the ticket scalping ... with consent some things break statutory laws." for what it's worth. Edit:: Husker37: You're completely missing the point.
  18. Landlord

    FYI

You could add that stuff to this site!
  19. On the bottoms of the upper decks on East/West stadiums. Huskeraddict, what exactly do you mean endzone art? You mean the "Nebraska" and "Huskers"? I never noticed anything was inaccurate about them :
  20. Point taken, and agreed to some extent. I do think, however, that Callahan's 2006 team was a pretty decent team and although we didnt' beat any of the teams better than us, it was hard to get closer to doing so than we did. So.....Texas Tech and...that's it? We played VaTech closely..they're a pretty good football team. Va Tech wasn't ranked.
  21. At least they're staying up to date on our stadium. They better include the ribbon boards though
