  3. Today was the first day in which there was a student athlete panel at the NCAA Power 5 meeting. From USATODAY.com http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2015/01/17/ncaa-convention-cost-of-attendance-student-athletes-scholarships/21921073/
  4. Ummmm....you don't follow the recruiting page much? Ummmmmmmmmmmmm ...OK I guess not today. I was just trying to have some off season fun not trying to take a shot at anyone. Just saying that his mom has been posting under his thread for a long time. Ok thanks, that makes sense. I had seen that but I had totally forgotten. Norvell it isWhere are you seeing this? Not a bad hire if true.Norvell was just hired by Texas.
  5. Unfortunately, no. I was hoping he would as well.
  6. "Warren said that he's been very impressed with the new recruiting support staff in their short time working together thus far. He said Director of Player Personnel Ryan Gunderson and his crew are on the ball and very organized. He said they have a vision and a plan and are pushy which helps to keep the coaches on top of things." article from Robin Washut. https://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1723549
  7. Interesting quote from the OWH: http://m.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/riley-wrs-job-still-open-ron-brown-not-joining-staff/article_1702030a-9793-11e4-9f8d-1fb2c5f2b0ba.html?mode=jqm "In general, new defensive coordinator Mark Banker said, Riley asks coordinators for four or five names and asks the coordinators to do the background work on them. Banker did this, for example, when looking for his new defensive line coach, which turned out to be Hank Hughes." Hughes and Banker have history from when they were in college together.
  8. I'm not sure I'm comfortable hiring Jay as a WR coach, unless he was in a GA or Intern role. Where is his experience in coaching? I'm not confident enough to give him an assistant coaching title just yet. Just my opinion tho.
  9. The Huskers.com article mentioning the hires: http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209838246&DB_OEM_ID=100
  10. Cool, thanks. Goes to show, I'm no insider! Hahaha
  11. Welp, it looks like Riley has officially announced most everyone on his staff: http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209838246&DB_OEM_ID=100
  12. Why wouldn't that have already been announced? You know, Riley has yet to officially announce Langsdorf and Davis...that I know of. Their hiring a were brought to our attention via the media. Maybe he is waiting till he has everyone in place to announce the entire staff, I don't know. But, at least those hirings were told/leaked to the media and we have evidence of those coaches working in Lincoln for the program. Here you have quite possibly the favorite assistant in Husker Nation the last 10 years and you keep it under wraps if you are going to keep him and it appears to everyone outside that he is leaving? Also, I'm sure at least some of the recruits from the prior staff had contact with him in the recruiting process. It would be beneficial for them to know he is still going to be here. In the past, it has been clear once something is told to a recruit, it gets put out on Twitter instantly. To my knowledge, no recruit has mentioned Brown staying. Also, I expect when the WR coach is hired, there will be a formal press conference and news release introducing everyone. It would help recruiting to make a big deal about this and pump up who was hired. So far....nothing. Which leads me to believe that the WR coach is still in his current position and can't come to Nebraska until he is done there. Like I said, I'm just speculating. I could be wrong, but I am not sure it is wise to announce the whole staff without being officially hired and having contracts signed. Maybe Ron wanted to think it over and it took longer than planned, maybe you're right and it is someone else. Hahaha, I just have a feeling that it is Ron, regardless, I hope the WR coach is a good one.

  14. This is just speculation, but I think the receivers coach will be Ron Brown. The reason I think that, is due to his responses towards the local papers about soon announcing his future plans.
  15. It seems as if BSU fans' frustrations are with Prince's play calling duties on Offense. I have yet to see/hear anything negative about his development of receivers.
  16. Keaton Kristick Former Oregon State LB, Former San Francisco 49ers LB, Defensive Quality Control at the University of Nebraska #GBR
  17. Randomly, this is the name popping up everywhere now. Not sure if it is one bs rumor spreading, or from a legit source.
  18. It was not from Sean, it was a tweet asking Sean.
  19. @HuskerExtraBC: Riley said some of his new assistants are still finishing seasons. NFL or college coaches? "Yes," he said with a smile. #Huskers
  20. It has been confirmed that Coach Brennan will stay at OSU.
  21. Unfortunately, I don't think Brennan is coming.
  22. Hey Tuff! Good to hear from ya!
  23. 46 players in the Super Bowl were unranked or 2-stars. There are only four, 5-stars playing.

Aren't there 50 or fewer 5 star recruits each year? If so . . . the fact that 4 of them (years after their recruiting ranking) are in this Super Bowl is pretty impressive.
