Best post i've read in the four months ive been on this site. I'm a believer in "the stats don't lie" and this sums it up. I'm impressed with the research that went behind this. it had to have been quite time consuming. at the same time though it makes me angry and sick to my stomach. Pederson did say he didn't want the program to GRAVITATE to mediocrity. Mission accomplished steve, you didn't gravitate, you did an all out nose dive BEYOND mediocrity Now i think i'm going to put "more than winning: tom osborne" into the VCR and cry myself to sleep.

Having Osborne as AD would be great. He would bring some of the old tradition back and i bet there are a lot of high profile coaches that would work for him that wouldn't work for pederson. Football isn't the only program slipping...

whatever happened to that team unity program that T.O. and Jack Stark instilled into the program? probably flushed away by pederson

im saying that you think you're better than everybody just because you went to a few games. And you think that entitles you to make stupid comments because a college kid made some bad comments. Were you calling for andre jones to be kicked off the team after his comments before the usc game last year? people make mistakes especially in high school and college. As long as nobody gets assaulted raped or murdered you should give them a free pass.

i've been to my share of games and i don't ever recall it saying on the ticket that "you are hereby intitled to make irrational comments and overreact just because a player made a comment on the radio".... or should i double check my stub from last week? the lack of intensity is due to the coaches. Cosgrove took the same players that pelini fired up week in and week out and that were in the top 10 in the country in turnover ratio and turned 'em into a unit that allowed 70 points agianst texas tech a year later. The lack of intensity has been there the whole time cosgrove has been DC. I mean blitz a linebacker ONCE IN A WHILE.

i don't get why you are complaining about grixby on special teams. Every time he starts to return a kickoff, i hold my breath.

based on these comments, i am reminded of octaviens Pass break up. He looked better in coverage than grixby and jones. And i think all of the tackling issues were summed up when thenarse whiffed the qb on a cb blitz

my fault. i was only looking at regular season. maybe i should have stated that.

since i am the king of pointless statistics, i looked it up and nebraska hasn't allowed 40+ in back to back games since 1945 and it's never happened in back to back home games.

what it proves is that everybody who tries to support cosgrove is an idiot and they have no grounds to do so.

Thats easy to explain..............McBride was better. that still don't explain why people are defending cosgrove.

i already posted this under the fire cosgrove thread but i realize most are too lazy to read down to the 75th post and i put about a half hour worth of research into it so... an interesting thought occured to me as i was reading these posts... so i looked up on huskers.com and found that in just over 3 years, cosgrove defenses have allowed 30 or more points 11 times. under mcbride it took 11 years to accomplish that same feat. 8 of those games were to unranked teams (cosgrove). Twice to KANSAS, twice to IOWA ST. it took from 1970 to 1999 for 8 unranked teams to put up 30 or more on us. how can anybody defend cosgroves defenses with numbers like that??? yeah it was the number 1 team but 8.2 yards a carry is ridiculous.

it sounds like fans have slipped into being acceptant of mediocrity. usc being number 1 is no excuse for a nebraska defense giving up 8.2 per carry. If i was DC i would strip every last one of them of their blackshirts for that performance.

i don't know that team might still get compared to the michigan teams of 1901-1905. lol maybe oklahoma of the 50's. you know mark may would find a way to downgrade a nebraska team that did the above.

like the creativity. i will be quite upset if there arent any XXL's left when i get to the tailgate. These look a lot like my senior shirts from high school last year.
