  1. I would say slower than Ganz, but faster than Taylor... lol that's a pretty big gap.
  2. KU is bigger, stronger, faster, more disciplined and more experienced than Nebraska. They won't, and haven't been intimidated by the lincoln crowd the last several trips. You won't beat Reesing and my Hawks. We hung 76 on you last year and our team is even better. Who is gonna tackle us? Bo? Oh, and is Bo planning to strap on shoulder pads and a helmet? I don't care who you are, or what you've done in the past, if you don't have YOUR players in YOUR system them it's going to be difficult to have success. Just look at records past of first year coaches. It's not pretty, especially in the big 12. Be happy if your squad goes 7-5. But no wins vs the top tier of the big 12, at least not this year for the huskers. Bigger, Stronger, faster? BETTER THAN LAST YEAR???????? You want some research? Kansas lost its starting running back, their best offensive lineman, their best defender and pulled in a stellar #58 recruiting class. Not to mention they have Oklahoma, Texas, TTech and So. Florida. Since I'm in a prediction kind of mood, Kansas won't win a game after Oct. 11 and will finish the year 5-7. KU will be better than last year. There is no question about that. We lost 2 guys-Talib and Collins-keep in mind that Collins played hurt the last 5 games of the year. Talib is the only guy we lost from a very strong secondary. You can point to McClinton as another loss-but he wasn't even a factor during our last 6 games because of an undisclosed injury-he only played part time. Then we alos lost McAnderson our "system running back" Sharp is a better back, and we added the #1 Juco RB in Jacques Crawford. We return 9 starters on defense, with 4 more back whole saw significant time. We return 7 on offense and the guys we lost were role players-besides of course Collins, but Mangino likes his replacement Jeff Spikes and from what I've seen in the off season was nothing short of dominance from him. He'll be fine. Need I go on? Oh, and you may want to forget about Rivals and Scouts and their little star ratings. That really has paid off well for Nebraska huh!?! You're even more deluded than we were at this time last year. LOL. NO. You guys won the award for the most delusional fanbase and you're leading the pack yet again. We WON our BCS game therefore WE can talk. What bowl were you guys in again? I must of missed it. It's funny how the majority of people on this board are predicting a win against KU and then when I put them in their place I'm suddenly dilusional!? Amazing. 76-39. Please! You seriously think the crowd will win the game for you!?! How? Kind of like how A&M's crowd beat us last year, oh that's right, we won that game. And how we were gonna lose at Boulder, oh that's right, WE BEAT CU last YEAR! Try beating them before predicting a win against us. LOL. Just being honest! Your argument for road wins is a win against a team that finished one game above .500 and a team that finished one game below? 2-8 against ranked opponents over the last 5 years, and even with the miracle 2007 season, over the last five years the jayhawks are 7-16 on the road with wins at ISU, Mizzou (in 04), Wyoming, and the four wins last year. These teams finished their seasons a combined 39-48. Some more research for you. I appreciate the research and respect that you went all the way back through 5 years, but what does the 04 team have to do with this year? I would look at last year's team and what they did, considering the majority is back. Winning @ Colorado and Texas A&M aren't easy things to do. You of all people should know that considering Nebraska's history playing @Boulder. But regardless, this is a "What have you done for me lately game" I don't care what KU did in 04. All those players were true freshmen or redshirted at the time-Our seniors anyway. Big deal. I guess what I'm trying to say is this isn't the "old KU" teams are used to playing. We don't just bend over and take it like ISU and Baylor. We'll fight you till the end win or lose. Something that Nebraska couldn't say last year. I certainly hope that somewhere among all the Husker Optimism there are some fans worried about NU's players quitting, because we ALL SAW IT LAST YEAR, and these are the same kids. Until Bo gets HIS recruits, I for one will not be afraid to walk into Lincoln. neither will KU. But I will say Bo has a propven track record and will be a great head coach. he should of got this job 3 years ago. I guess better late than never for Husker Nation. Now that you are being resonable i want to leave you with this. Comparing the '04 Kansas team to the '08 Kansas team is more just than comparing the 07 and 08 huskers. Kansas has the same coach they had in '04. I'm pretty sure Kansas fans thought glenn mason was going to resurrect the program in the mid-90's too, which circles back to my original post. Kansas is going to be kansas again this year

  5. Predictions are supposed to come before a team plays otherwise they would just call them dictions.
  6. He ran an option offense junior year i believe...
  7. I got to the first sentence of the first quote and I lost it. Funny Stuff.
  8. There is obviously nobody on this board who is going to agree with me 100%. I like the good mix of feedback keep it comin'.
  9. Now that fall practice is well under way, here is my realistic prediction of the season.... Give me some feedback. Week One Nebraska 45 - Western Michigan 17 Why Nebraska will win: Two streaks survived the Callahan Era: The sellout streak, and the home opener streak. The crowd will be too much for the Bronco's to handle. The first game of the Pelini era will get out of hand early and the second stringers will get valuable experience. X-Factor: Crowd Noise Week Two Nebraska 42 – San Jose State 24 Why Nebraska will win: San Jose St. has been outscored 351-108 by teams from BCS conferences in the last five years. This game will have similar results to the game in 2000. X-Factor: Focus and Preperation. Week Three Nebraska 27 – New Mexico State 13 Why Nebraska will win: Pelini will pressure Holbrook from every angle and force him to throw interceptions. Lucky and Helu will wear down the Aggie defense and slowly pull away. This game will be closer than many think. X-Factor: The Offensive Line Week Four Virginia Tech 17 - Nebraska 9 Why Virginia Tech will win: Defense and Special Teams. Frank Beamer will outcoach BO however this game won't have the same chain reaction as the loss to USC last year. The fans will enjoy a good competitive game but the Huskers will come up just short. X-Factor: Special Teams Week Five Missouri 45 – Nebraska - 34 Why Missouri will win: The Tigers have a better, more experienced team than Nebraska but the Game will be closer than most expect. However Missouri's offense outduels Nebraska's and the Tigers win in Linocln for the first time since 1978. X-Factor: Jeremy Maclin Week Six Nebraska 31 - Texas Tech 17 Why Nebraska will win: Under Leach Texas Tech hit a ceiling. A one dementional offense will be too easy for Bo to stop and Shawn Watson's offense will have a field day with the TTech Defense. Nebraska will be a mediocre 3-2 heading into this game however will still be by far the toughest team tech will have faced up to that point. X-Factor: Turnovers Week Seven Nebraska 20 - Iowa State 17 Why Nebraska will win: Nebraska takes this game purely on being better than Iowa St. The Cyclones are on the rise but they just won't have the talent to square up with a Nebraska team fresh off one of the toughest three game stretches in college football, however ISU stays in it until the end because it's in Ames. X-Factor: First game on a Grass Field. Week Eight Nebraska 55 – Baylor 20 Why Nebraska will win: IT'S BAYLOR... Not to mention they have a new coaching staff who brings a way different system to Baylor similar to New Mexico St. and Texas Tech's but will not have the right players in place. X-Factor: The Backup quarterback. Week Nine Oklahoma 42 – Nebraska 10 Why Oklahoma will win: Top to bottom Oklahoma is better than Nebraska. Coaching is better, quarterback is better, recievers are better, O-line is better, The entire Defense is better. Horrible Mismatch for the Huskers. X-Factor: Coaching Week Ten Nebraska 38 – Kansas 28 Why Nebraska will win: Kansas 1968 record 9-2 1969 record 1-9; 1981 record 8-4 1982 record 2-7-2; 1995 record 10-2 1996 record 4-7. Three of the four best seasons in the last 40 years for Kansas, the other 2007... not to mention the jayhawks haven't won in Lincoln since 1968. X-Factor: Memorial Stadium Week Eleven Nebraska 24 – Kansas State 6 Why Nebraska will win: If Pelini adjusts his coaching style to be more like Cosgrove's Nebraska will win this game handily. Call me crazy but Ron Prince takes advantage of overaggressive defenses with his use of trick plays. If the Huskers use a lot of Man-to-Man defenses instead of swarming to the ball this one could get ugly. X-Factor: follow assignments. Week Twelve Colorado 21 - Nebraska 20 Why Colorado will win: Coming into the game Nebraska will be 8-3 and 5-2 in conference while Colorado will be 5-6 and 4-4 in conference. The game will mean more to the Buffaloes who will be fighting for a bowl betth will salvage their season with a win over the huskers sneaking them into the Independence Bowl X-Factor: Desire Alamo Bowl: Nebraska 35 Michigan St. 14 Why Nebraska will win: At 8-4 Pelini will go back to the Alamo Bowl and again it will be against a much better Michigan St. team. However a much improved run defense shuts down javon ringer, thus shutting down the MSU offense. Joe Ganz picks apart a mediocre Big 10 defense en route to victory. The victory puts Nebraska at 4-0 this decade in the Alamo Bowl and 0-3 in all other bowls. X-Factor: Nebraska in San Antonio.
  10. We might beat Virginia Tech but we will beat Texas Tech in Lubbock. Here is why we will beat TTech.... They play TWO FCS opponents, SMU, Nevada and Kansas State CC before they play Nebraska. We will be battle tested having played Virginia Tech and Missouri at that point not to mention NMSU (same offense). That game wil help immensely for the TTech game. Tech's offense is one that isn't built to win Championships. They are 2-13 against ranked opponents over the last five years with wins over a #23 Ok St. team in '05 and an Oklahoma team that didn't have it's starting quarterback last year . The last time they faced BO's Defense it was the week before the Nebraska Debacle in '04 and was held to 13 points and turned the ball over 4 times. (I know Oklahoma isn't Nebraska but still...) Win totals under Mike Leach are 7, 7, 9, 8, 8, 9, 8, and 9. 8-4 or 9-3 is the ceiling for a team built around an offense and has no defense. The book against Tech is to run the ball and force turnovers and thats what BO emphasises. The more I think about this game the more confident I get that we will beat them.
  11. I love it. K-State is headed in a downward spiral back to where they were before snyder. Can anyone say 0-12?
  12. When a team like Kansas loses their top running back and has a mediocre quarterback they have to rebuild. When it happens to a team like Texas, they reload. I personally wouldn't ever put them outside the top 15 in any preseason poll (for however much that is worth). USC lost half their defense and their starting quarterback from last year and they are a consensus top five team and Texas recruiting is right on par with USC's.
  13. Thats something I never thought I'd hear a husker fan say.
  14. Week One Nebraska 45 - Western Michigan 17 Week Two Nebraska 42 – San Jose State 24 Week Three Nebraska 27 – New Mexico State 13 Week Four Virginia Tech 17 - Nebraska 9 Week Five Missouri 45 – Nebraska - 34 Week Six Nebraska 31 - Texas Tech 17 Week Seven Nebraska 20 - Iowa State 17 Week Eight Nebraska 55 – Baylor 20 Week Nine Oklahoma 42 – Nebraska 10 Week Ten Nebraska 38 – Kansas 28 Week Eleven Nebraska 24 – Kansas State 6 Week Twelve Colorado 21 - Nebraska 20 PF: 311? PA: 267 8-4
  15. at least they don't have notre dame ranked.
  16. Don't charge your FRIENDS to come over and watch the pay-per-view games. Man Law.
  17. Corners excel in pelini's system. 8 picks this year for murillo
  18. It is kind of boring wearing nebraska shirts in Nebraska. It doesn't start any conversations here. When I wear royals gear people ask what the point is and I can't come up with one then when I wear Steelers gear I get called a bandwagon. I can't win.
  19. Last year I was a groomsman at a friends wedding during the K-State game. The season was gone at that point so I thought people were fu&*ing with me when I was getting score updates. The worst part is my mom told me after the wedding that she had won tickets to the game at work the day before. When she told me that I got a sick feeling in my stomach. (She told me after the wedding cause she knew I would skip it if she told me before) My little brothers friend got my ticket... tragic.
  20. Looks like I'm going to be spending a lot of time at Buffalo Wild Wings in the near future.
  21. On a Sunday? Interesting...
  22. Slauson Ganz and Glenn. I Bleed Red told me so.
  23. All-time favorite Husker: Ralph Brown Cody Glenn. I was supposed to interview him for my high school paper before the 2006 season andGlenn gave me the ok. but NU's media drector Red Flagged it, He's just a baller plain and simple. He just loves the game.
