  1. I would guess it's just a moderate-bad sprain. There's no need to bring him back in to return kicks when he can't go full speed, especially when we have Burkhead and Turner. Let him heal so he can bust another big one when/if we really need it!
  2. So my initial reactions through and after the game was that our defense is horrible (albeit we have a young and inexperienced secondary without Dennard). But after hearing Pelini's post game comments I am scratching my head a little. Here are a few quotes: "I didn't call a great game in the fourth quarter," he said. "I thought they were going to come out and start throwing the football, so I kind of turned the defensive linemen loose a little bit and was like, ‘OK, go ahead, run the ball.' "If we would have tackled better, I thought we could just use some clock. I didn't really care about the points at that point." "They put us out of position at times. They gave us a lot of things that were different, that we weren't quite expecting. But, yeah, tackling was better. I thought we responded well early." "I thought they kind of had us reeling a bit early. I thought some of our young guys got a little bit out of sorts. But then I thought we settled down. I thought we did a good job up until early in the fourth quarter." and Bo went so far as to say that we had them guessing all day against our offense. Call me crazy, but is this not one of the most non-negative comment laden press conferences for such a lack luster performance (I know it should be positive, but does Bo ever really give a positive press conference?) Usually you hear Bo tearing up the team on a performance like that. I don't know what it is, but I just got a hint of confidence from this. Does he know something we don't, like not giving a crap about points in the forth quarter? I don't think one of his and Carl's defenses goes down so much in a year from a few inexperienced positions. Maybe...just maybe...he is having the D play as low key as possible right now so we don't have a huge bullseye on us coming into the Wisky game. I know I am drunk on the Kool Aid right now, but it's fun to have conspiracy theories!
  3. I agree... Turner needs more looks and Kinnie needs to catch about 500 straight passes in practice without a drop before he starts again.
  4. Did anyone hear anything out of yesterday's team meeting? As much as anyone says that it wouldn't be right to not do a formal introduction for the new staff members, I wouldn't doubt that it would go down that way. It's not like this whole ordeal has been fan/media friendly. Oh well, I guess in the end we will all just have to wait it out and see how things play out next fall!
  5. Not like this should be a shocker, but Oregon news outlet is spreading word that Bo is talking with Frost. http://www2.registerguard.com/cms/index.php/duck-football/comments/report-cornhuskers-have-spoken-with-uo-assistant-frost/
  6. What a great game from such a wonderful young man! He was destined to have a game like this sometime in his career here at Nebraska. So glad it came against a tough formidable opponent like Missouri. Great Job Roy! Helu is a beast!!!
  7. bo talks about treating it just as another game. i think that overplaying the "it is just another game" angle gets in the players heads worse than treating it like the big game that it is. they need to be playing inspired, possessed for these big games, because they are different. I agree 100%! If this is just another game, then why would it garner so much attention from everyone? We aren't a team that can like that, unless we are acting as if every game is a potential make or break game, which we obviously aren't. I can't understand how these players aren't getting pumped for home games?
  8. so east student tickets are the way to go? I would assume there is a better view of the video board in the east section since you would be closer. if you have any other words of advice please let me know!
  9. Maybe he was just calling the defense out to the field since he just scored. Or maybe he just doesn't know that it's a defense thing, but if that's the worst mistake this kid makes in a game I will gladly take it!!!
  10. Mike Fullman's punt return, 1996, block administered by Mike Rucker. I didn't know Rucker made that block....but, I was at that game in the S end zone about 70 rows up...and it was almost as if someone from the sidelines through a stick of dynamite out on the field. I saw what happens when a person gets hit by a car going 45 mph (no brakes applied), and it looked exactly like that. It was the most exciting thing I ever saw at a football game. Is there a video of this floating around any where on the web?
  11. Yeah, because it's not like we don't have news accounts of it.... Student Section ejected See how that works? You can discuss something as real when you have evidence outside of a forum that it happened. You know what baffles me the most still to this day about that article?!?! That Gary Barnett knows what the word microcosm means, and can use it in a sentence. He must have practiced that one all week. Which would explain why his team wasn't prepared for the Husker beat down!
  12. Asante is doing awesome! Leave him the "F" alone! I'd rather you people bitch about him being too agressive or making "cheap shots" than bitch about him being too soft and not making tackles. So keep it up you softies, and I will watch him kick a$$ and cheer!
  13. I hope he starts flipping the other team off like the Titans owner did yesterday to the Bills!!! That would make a statement.
  14. I voted the past 2 days. Went to the leaderboard before and after I voted and confirmed that my vote was not being added on. I give up. I think this poll has about as much validity as Charlie Weis' college coaching career. When the people who run the poll don't want your guy to win, they can fix it very easily.
  15. Oh yeah? Well I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings, or the feelings of any of your OU Spooner buddies. I wouldn’t want to make any of you cry or anything. Do you actually know any Sooner fans? I am not talking about the kindly old grayhairs who custom order their Depends adult diapers in OU Crimson & Cream. I mean the rabid fanatical troglodyte mouthbreathers who spend gameday screaming obscenities and hurling insults. If you spent much time with them—the rabid troglodytes, not the grayhairs—then you wouldn’t be tripping over your skirt to be so kind to them. You would use the term Friggin Hillbillies. And you would think it’s funny. btw, do you actually have any opinion on the open field tackling in the Oklahoma Sooners game? Or were you posting in this thread just to pose as a dignified, classy, corn-cob-up-the-butt, Husker fan? The tackling has been good. Classic response!!! Love it!
  16. I voted for him everyday this past week and I watch the leaderboard before and after I vote each time. 4 out of 7 times it didn't count my vote. I copied and pasted his name, position, and school each time. But one thing I have noticed consistantly is that for everyone vote Suh gets now, exactly 4 Spiller votes are thrown on. Each time I added my vote the past few days it did this. It's almost like the thing is automated now. I know it's probably just a coincidence, but it seemed odd to me!
  17. That is truly amazing. Those are some scary figures! How can an offense change so much from the past 1 or 2 years when we have the same O coordinator? A new starting QB, RB, and WR's will accomodate for some of that, but ti shouldn't create a completely anemic offense. There are some questions that need to be answered from within the program.
  18. Your brothers recording with the Droid was awesome, every time the crowd cheered for something in your video it just shot a tingle up my spine and put a huge smile on my face! Thats what a tunnel walk video is supposed to do and as you can tell from everyone's response you clearly achieved that goal!!! Keep up the good work, and if you ever make any season compilation videos like that of DT Husker please, please, please post them on You Tube and let Husker Board know!!! Amazing work!
  19. Although our offense had horrible showings in both the TT and ISU games, I think a lot of people are quick to overlook what we actually dealt with against OU. The game plan that was executed against OU was obviously to pound the ball into a very tough OU defense. We knocked out enough yards, and first downs to get it done. It wasn't pretty, but they executed the game plan at hand. I just think a lot of people are forgetting how good of a defense we faced. I think that next week with a healthy Helu, we break off a lot more yards in the running game which in turn opens up the passing game (most likely a lot of short passes to McNeil). The offense is clearly not stellar, but we have enough tools to get through the rest of the regular season fairly well barring any injuries to Helu. If (hopefully when) we get to the Conf Championship game, it will be a different story, but until then we should be good. Give this young O another year to develop and continue development of this D and we are going to be Big XII favorites in the next year or 2.
  20. Actually Suh and McCoy had pretty comparable stats on the night. 4 total tackles for Suh and 3 for McCoy. Suh blocked a huge FG, and McCoy recovered a fumble. Now I believe anyone who watched the game will obviously see that Suh (and Crick for that matter) performed better than McCoy, but when Todd McShay and Mel Kiper Jr. wake up in the morning and check to see how the battle between the 2 went, they will mostly look at the stats and see they were fairly even. It's a shame but thats how it goes. THey will probably see O'Hanlon's stats and say wow, he is a stud! I bet he will be Big 12 Def player of the week. If he is it is the 3rd seperate player for NU to get it this year!
