Agreed, we need to run right through them on Offense and Defense... I would have thought that TT would have had a much bigger lead than 10 at the half because TT is supposed to be better on Offense than Missouri... Eye of the Tiger Nebraska, time to get a mean on...

I totally agree... In the Locker room, someone or some people need to step up and yell at the top of their lungs to the rest of the players, "It's time to take charge and beat these guys!!" Cornhusker fans, it's 7-17 at the half WE CAN WIN THIS GAME!! It's time to pull off the UPSET! Nebraska is nearing a turning point, NOW it's time to explode it out there on the field in the second half! Lets shut down the Red Raiders and show them who the real BIG RED is!!

I agree totally.. Nebraska needs to be aggressive on both offense and defense. Knock the QB on is back and get some pancakes. It's time to get payback from 2004. The players who were freshmen for that game are seniors. Nebraska hopefully had a weeks worth of motivation too. They need to be able to look in the eye of a fellow player and not just see a guy who'd lay down and die for them, but one that would stand shoulder to shoulder and make the very hounds of hell run away in retreat. The attitude needs to be one that says "WE'RE STILL NEBRASKA!!" No retreat and No surrender!

Excellent post. We just have to be patient. Nebraska will dominate again. I'll be supportive of the Cornhuskers even if we don't win another game this year. I feel bad for the fans who have given up on the team again. Nobody should be asking for Pelini's job either, because he needs time to establish domination. Pelini didn't point fingers, knew they played a tough team, but still said things could have gone a lot better. No sugar coating the outcome, and he was fired up. I liked when some reported asked him, "Are you ashamed?", he responded, "Ashamed of what?!". He knows the team is going to have some down times to be able to get back up again. I think what Pelini is most concerned about is that every player is giving it their best.

One of my favorite moments where Mark May had someone speak up to him was when Solich was fired from Nebraska and Mark May is talking about "What's wrong with a 9-3 record, most teams would love to have a 9-3 record year after year...." Trev Alberts is stting there and you can see the veins popping out and he says, "Because at Nebraska 9-3 is unacceptable, Nebraska wants to be the premier program of College Football."

I think the 1996 Fiesta Bowl was the last time too. I remember Sports Illustrated talking about how Florida's Speed was going to be too much for Nebraska and how Nebraska was going to get blown out of the water. SI would have predicted the 62-24 would have been advantage to Florida. Since then, MAYBE the Notre Dame game in 2000 because if I remember correctly, some folks said Nebraska couldn't pull off a win at Notre Dame. What about against Oklahoma in 2001? I thought we were the underdogs in that one by 10 points or so.

If you go down Friday Night, you should go Bar Hopping down O Street, then nothing goes better with a good beer buzz than some Amigos located on ?

Lil Red is cute... Herbie Husker is awesome! I remember watching the Herbie Husker mascot going nuts in the 1995 Orange Bowl when Costa got sacked for a safety. What's little red do to show excitement? Waddle back and forth? I'd love to hear a "Pop!!! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSST....." "Ladies and Gentlemen, Little Red is dead..."

Simulated Virginia Tech vs Nebraska on my PS2 yesterday before watching Oregon State Take it to USC. 15 Minute Quarters, and had it on Hiesman Level. Nebraska took an early lead in the 1st Quarter 14-0 off a Ganz TD pass and a LONG Marlon Lucky TD. In the 2nd Quarter, VT looked to score a Touchdown pass in the endzone until it was overturned when further review showed the ball hit the ground before it was trapped. In the 3rd Quarter Vt scored 21 unanswered points and Nebraska Trailed 14-21 going into the 4th Quarter. Nebraska rallied and moved down the field getting into Field Goal Range making it 17-21 with 5 minutes left in the 4th. VT went 3 and out and had to punt. Nebraska took over at their own 40 and they marched down the field scoring on a Helu touchdown with 2 minutes remaining to take the lead 24-21. VT started at their 25 and started to move down the field to the Nebraska 45 with 55 seconds remaining. VT went for a few passes and got 3 yards and 4 yards. With 15 Seconds remaining, VT went for a Hail Mary which got tipped in the air, and covered by a Nebraska Safety. Bo Pelini got Gatoraided and the players got flagged for excessive celebration and Nebraska took over at their own 15 yard line. With 2 seconds left in the Game. Nebraska went for a simple run up the middle to end the game. Final Score Nebraka 24 VT 21. Sorry I don't have the stats for you but Nebraska kept VT's QB on the run and he got like 10 of 34 completions.

I think that PETA is a bunch of closet canibals who are going to come up wth the idea that we should eat human flesh. I can't imagine ice cream from human milk. I guess PETA doesn't know how to say "Breast Milk". Imagine if Ben and Jerry's had a herd of Large Breasted Women herding in a backyard grazing on salads and high vitamin foods. I wonder who'd get to milk them?

How about the American Lottery Ticket? You get to play for a dollar and say the lottery is 200 million. Half goes to the bailout and half goes to the winner... I think Americans should get in the range of ten to fifteen thousand dollars each and if you're married that is doubled, plus say five thousand for each dependant in your household. If want to stimulate the economy, they need to give some real money in stead of the $1200. Say someone owes back mortgage of $2,500 take that out of what they owe and they still get a substantial amount. If I got $15,000 I'd get myself out of Credit Debt and still have more left over to do something good with it.

I have been trying to figure out how much that is per tax payer. I think I'm a bit short on my part. So if this takes care of Wall Street and the Fat Cats, who gets the profits? We the people pay through the nose, and someone else gets all the credit... Does the 700 Billion Dollar Bailout remind someone of the story of the Boston Tea Party? Maybe we should dump some people into the water. Mr President, what ever happened to "No Taxation Without Representation"? Or the extent that WE the People should have a say in where our money goes?

Once again the MYTH of the Trojans has been exposed. Maybe they should put a warning label on the side of their helmets. "Only 99.9% Effective". After last night it should read "Only 80% Effective". I suppose since USC is USC they'll expect to play in the National Championship Game rather than a team that is undefeated. I think 2008 is the season of upsets!

Nebraska's Blackshirts need to have the attitude from Rocky III when Rocky faced Clubber Lang for the 2nd time and kept asking for Clubber's best and kept responding, "AIN'T SO BAD!!" I have always felt that a part of the Blackshirt Tradition is the Intensity the Defense had. It's about standing NOSE TO NOSE and making their Offense back down totally intimidated.

I don't know that the Cornhuskers would be holding anything back, but we might have a bigger bag of tricks to unleash on VT and Missouri and Texas Tech. I hope Nebraska is having some intense practices this week. Nebraska needs to have spent their last 2 weeks like a caged animal. foaming at the mouth.

I have to work that day till 6:30pm, and I'll be at a friends house watching the game. If we should go 4-0 into the game against Missouri, I predict that against Missouri, Memorial Stadium will be the loudest it has ever been, and I mean EVER! Missouri is ranked at # 6 this week and if anyone in the top 5 get beat, you're looking at a top 5 Missouri team. Nebraska will have to play at the top of their game against Missouri, but If they can keep Daniels scrambling and knock the guy on his ass over and over again, we can win this game. Missouri of 2008 reminds me of Florida of 95. They were supposed to be unstoppable, but Nebraska found a weakness. Granted Nebraska of '08 is not Nebraska of '95, but The Cornhuskers have something they have been lacking for years. HEART, TEAMWORK, and a desire to win. Nebraska is a team that is going to lay it all out on the field October 4th. They have 80,000+ rooting them on. One way or another this could be a 4th Quarter Game too. Missouri could be thinking "Cakewalk Blowout", and I wonder if Missouri is going to go into the game thinking they have to give 100%. Nebraska is going to be a team on a mission. I hope those young men come into the game thinking of nothing less than upsetting Missouri. Not one instance of "Hoping to keep it close", or "Just not getting blown out at home". The Cornhuskers need to let it all fly with no retreat and no surrender!

Wasn't NMSU's reported to have gotten 3,000+ yards the last 2 seasons? Looks like Nebraska shut him down last night. Nebraska needs to play at the top of their game against VT, and the Husker Fans need to be loud again. I hope to see a Cornhusker Blowout. IMHO, the Defensive starters should get their BLACKSHIRTS prior to the VT game. It's an uphill battle from here on. We're 3-0 and it's time to get the additional Blackshirt Attitude goin' on.
